It's true that the jokes aren't as funny this time around but the puzzles are challenging without being frustrating, which should help you see this one through to a satisfying conclusion.
Episode four of the Tales of Monkey Island leaves me undecided: I like that there are more puzzles in the game, but overall this episode offers too much of a dejavu-feeling, resulting in a good, but not very good episode.
The fourth and second to last chapter of Tales of Monkey Island puts all the pieces of the game in their place for the end of this first season. "The Trial and Execution of Guybrush Threepwood" is the largest episode thus far, and althought events are not as funny as in the past chapter, the level is, overall, remarkable, being delicious for demanding players. There are many things to improve, like the reuse of content, but TellTale has shown us, once more, that they're great making point'n'click adventures.

The atmosphere that this chapter sets is just amazing. Sound, graphics and music all come together to form a really beautiful and haunting game. Though the puzzles are on the weaker side this time, the twists and turns that the story takes are all gripping and make you want to finish the chapter in one sitting. The returning character is definitely a highlight of this chapter, but everyone else also has a compelling arc — everyone gets their own important moments, which is impressive given how limited the game's time is.

This is a worthy addition to the Tales of Monkey Island series. It's one that all adventure fans should own and everyone else should at least try.

The episode is considerably longer than the last few. I was surprised and pleased to finish the trial and find substantial head-scratchers left to solve. As with all these adventures, there's little reason to revisit them once you've finished. That's just the nature of this particular beast, though. Digest it and spend a month waiting for the next one.

Tales of Monkey Island Ep. 4: The Trial and Execution of Guybrush Threepwood as already mentioned under review is the best chapter in the series for both the technical part that for the dialogue, with the exception of the riddles here bound to a marginal and secondary. Recommended to all those who have already played the previous chapters and is recommended for new share from the first episode not to miss one of the best adventures of recent years.

The Trial and Execution of Guybrush Threepwood may not be the funniest episode, but it does have a lot to do, some great puzzles, and Stan.

Telltale's production quality is remarkable, and they must be commended for at least pushing the series violently towards what is sure to be a fascinating climax. However, the game must also be criticized for the inconsistency of its flow and the near-complete lack of original locations and characters (Stan's delightful return notwithstanding).
