This is the sort of game that people buy a new console for. It’s just that good. Sunset Overdrive celebrates the things that set us apart as gamers, and it draws strength from those differences. It never loses sight of the fact that fun trumps all in this sort of escapist fantasy.

Simply don’t understand how this game was a flop- This is in my top 5 for sure - Gameplay is very unique and super addicting
- Atmosphere is so important in open world games and sunset overdrive nails it perfectly- vibrant city with many side missions and lots of destruction - Story is super goofy on purpose and the characters and events that occur are really cool
-Every mission ends in total chaos (in the best way possible)
- The gunplay is amazing— there are literally so many weapons you can obtain that do completely different things— the gun design itself is super goofy and cool (ex: a teddy bear explosive launcher)
- Characters are peak
- DLC IS AMAZING— literally might be better than the main game - Character design is hands down the best character design out of any video game ever- i literally changed my character over 100 times throughout each play through - I would recommend to anyone 100000%

The best thing about Sunset Overdrive is how it's unabashedly enthusiastic about what it is, in just about every way. That enthusiasm, and the freedom behind it, is contagious.

Sunset Overdrive is a fun and well crafted free roaming. Insomniac played it a bit too safe and their game isn't able to deliver on all of its excellent promises.

Best approached as you would any caffeinated energy drink. In small gulps, it offers an exhilarating sugar rush, but too much will leave you with a headache. As such, it's best consumed in moderation. [Christmas 2014, p.104]

Sunset Overdrive has some excellent ideas, but its triumphs are sadly suffocated beneath ultra-repetitive mission design and unsatisfying enemy encounters.

This game is fun. Very Fun, colorful with great sense of humor. Also the fighting and combat mechanings is easy to understand and alot joyable. The Boss fights have great balance in combat. Lastly, the transition in maps are well developed, and never felts that I was lost. You should play it.

The graphics and effects are absolutely stunning, no doubt about it. The freedom to explore the city at your own pace and grind for as long as you want is a real plus. Now, I've heard some folks aren't too keen on the cartoonish art style, but personally, I think it suits the setting just right.

I really wanted to love Sunset Overdrive, I really did. But it's glaring flaws can not be ignored. I'm sorry, but this game is just far too repetitive for it's own good. I found myself getting irritated with the constant fetch quests that the game sends you on. It's basically the same tried-and-true formula of, "Go here, kill these guys, grab the stuff and come back." Not saying that all fetch quests are bad, they just have to be done right. But the combat is so simplistic and uninspired that it feels like a chore doing those types of quests. Did I mention the combat was simplistic? Oh yeah, that's basically an understatement. The combat is simplified to the point where all you have to do is pan your camera over an enemy and you automatically lock on. This makes the game seem extremely easy, especially when you're grinding on power lines whilst obliterating enemies who can't even hit you. The A.I. seems to have pathing issues or something because they frequently slam themselves into cars and buildings while running after you. I honestly felt like I was playing a game meant for a five-year-old. The only enemies who really gave me a problem were the beefy ones with a lot of health. If there's one good thing I can say, it's that the graphics and effects are gorgeous. You can explore the city freely and grind all day long. Some people disagree with the cartoonish art style but I think it fits the setting well. In conclusion, Sunset Overdrive seems like it wasn't really baked fully before it was released. They could have done so much more with the concept. I really do feel sorry for this game...

This game is plain Awful. I am an Xbox user since day one, and after playing this game, both story and multiplayer for 10 hours, I have decided that that's enough. This game has flashes of brilliance, but they fizzle out so quickly that it almost becomes tiresome to even look at the game. I had high hopes for this one, but it's just awful.
