Mount & Blade: Warband4
Sep 22, 2016
Listen, I understand this game is one of the few medieval multiplayer combat games on Xbox One right now. The only other one I can think of is "Chivalry: Medieval Warfare", which is a great game in its own right. But **** could they release Mount & Blade in such a buggy and unfinished state? This game is nearly 7 years old, surely they would've ironed out all the bugs by now, right? Nope. The lag and framerate drops online are unreal. Voice chat barely functions at all. Weapons seem to either have the cutting power of a lightsaber or a flimsy piece of paper. Archery is terrible, good luck killing anyone other than a brain dead enemy archer who's standing perfectly still. Ugh... I really wanted to have fun with this game too, but I just...I just can't. Not right now at least. This is absolutely despicable, especially coming from Taleworlds. Get a grip guys, this isn't 2010 anymore, this kind of crap isn't going to fly.

Evolve4
Feb 21, 2015
I'm very disappointed with the final release of Evolve... I thought that they would step up their game from the beta (which was fun, but had it's flaws) and knock my socks off. Instead I was met with a load of DLC paywalls and microtransactions. Wow... Also, the game didn't have the same spark as it did in beta form... It felt pointless. Many players have no idea what they're doing and just run around the map aimlessly. The same goes for the monster... Countless times I've found the monster within 30 seconds of the match and it was dead in 3 minutes. It became boring after 2 or 3 matches of playing... By the way, these greedy corporate pigs want me to pay like 7-8 bucks a pop for new characters and skins? ON A 60$ RETAIL GAME? That's pure robbery... If you calculate the costs of all the current DLC, it comes out to nearly 200$... Just think about how absolutely ridiculous that sounds.

Battlefield 44
Jan 3, 2015
This game really could have been good, but DICE decided to screw it all up. From constant glitching and loss of save data during the campaign, to shoddy net code that causes cheap deaths online, this game is a total disaster. Let's start with the campaign. I wanted to enjoy the campaign so badly, seeing as other Battlefield campaigns were extremely boring and too easy. So I chose hard mode and started it up. Literally nothing has changed from the past Battlefield games. Obviously awful A.I. that has pinpoint accuracy when in cover but runs into your gunfire like a bunch of lemmings. The glitches have also returned, causing my equipment, guns, and teammates to merge with the floor and disappear. In this one mission, this A.I. Chinese pedestrian was crossing the road and our car hit him, but we didn't hit him, he just morphed through the car with no collision whatsoever. Really DICE? And to top this all off, I turned my Xbox One off to go see my family and when I came back, my save data was gone. Yep, it just vanished into thin air. Wow. Thanks a lot DICE. I don't even want to talk about how broken the multiplayer is in Battlefield 4. There's way too many problems to even note without going over the word limit, so I'll summarize. Battlefield 4's multiplayer only works when it wants to. I experience massive lag and rubber-banding online. Sometimes I'll shoot someone with a full clip of ammo, only to appear like five feet in front of him shooting a wall and he guns me down. Another thing, some vehicle setups are extremely overpowered and unstoppable unless you have like ten guys shooting rockets at it all at once. The pure stupidity of some players online baffles me. They'd rather try to run up to a tank, clearly shooting at them, rather than take it out with a rocket. Countless times I've lost rush matches because people refuse to take out tanks on the hill that keep slamming the objectives and killing everyone. Wow... To sum it up, Battlefield 4 is a complete failure ****. DICE, you can go shove it up your asses. Peace

Sunset Overdrive4
Dec 18, 2014
I really wanted to love Sunset Overdrive, I really did. But it's glaring flaws can not be ignored. I'm sorry, but this game is just far too repetitive for it's own good. I found myself getting irritated with the constant fetch quests that the game sends you on. It's basically the same tried-and-true formula of, "Go here, kill these guys, grab the stuff and come back." Not saying that all fetch quests are bad, they just have to be done right. But the combat is so simplistic and uninspired that it feels like a chore doing those types of quests. Did I mention the combat was simplistic? Oh yeah, that's basically an understatement. The combat is simplified to the point where all you have to do is pan your camera over an enemy and you automatically lock on. This makes the game seem extremely easy, especially when you're grinding on power lines whilst obliterating enemies who can't even hit you. The A.I. seems to have pathing issues or something because they frequently slam themselves into cars and buildings while running after you. I honestly felt like I was playing a game meant for a five-year-old. The only enemies who really gave me a problem were the beefy ones with a lot of health. If there's one good thing I can say, it's that the graphics and effects are gorgeous. You can explore the city freely and grind all day long. Some people disagree with the cartoonish art style but I think it fits the setting well. In conclusion, Sunset Overdrive seems like it wasn't really baked fully before it was released. They could have done so much more with the concept. I really do feel sorry for this game...

I was excited when I saw that this game was put on the "Games with Gold" list because I always wanted try it. I got online and started downloading it right away. Boy, was I in for a rude awakening... For starters, the main character menu looks extremely outdated and is super clunky. I sometimes had to hit my triggers twice for it to move to the next menu. The camera sometimes obstructs your view during combat which is very annoying. The combat is repetitive and you'll find yourself killing the same grunt enemies over and over again. The leveling takes WAY too long. It also has that kind of poor platforming where they expect you to make split-second movements to get past an area, but your character just swings everywhere like he's spazzing out. I don't know how many times I fell down into a lava pit because Death decided to face plant the wall instead of running across it. Or like when I try to jump off a wooden thing and it sends me flying down a cliff for no reason. It a freaking nightmare. But hey, it's free this month so if you want to download it then whatever... Don't say I didn't warn you.

Dark Souls1
Jun 14, 2014
When this game was made available to be downloaded for free with the 'Games with Gold' program on Xbox Live, I thought I'd go ahead and try it. (Available from June 1st, 2014 - June 16th, 2014) Believe me, it's not worth the 3.9 gigabytes it takes up on your hard drive. This game is the most repetitive, unforgiving piece of rubbish I've ever played in my life. Just compare it to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which was released about a month after this game came out. Does this game look like it was made in 2011, or 2006? You tell me... I know Skyrim looks like it was made in 2011 for sure. The graphics are mostly made up of dull grays, browns, and blacks, with a little puke green added into the mix. Low resolution images and screen tearing plague the game. The characters mouths don't even move when they speak. The voice acting is horrible too, sounding like the voices were recorded in a portable toilet. The controls are even worse... I found myself drinking potions and using items in the middle of combat because the control placement is so bad. Want to hear the real kicker? Everytime you die, all of the enemies in the stage respawn!!! Yes, I'm not kidding... Even if one of the small minion enemies kill you, the last 20 guys you just blew through are coming back. So basically it's a patience game... It tests to see how frustrated you get before you put your controller through a wall. Don't get me wrong, I like a challenge as much as the next guy. But Dark Souls takes it way too far... The checkpoints are placed miles apart from each other, causing you to be sent like ten to twenty minutes back when you die. So yeah, that aspect makes the game extremely repetitive... It just boils down to an half-baked RPG that could have been something interesting, but turned out to be a crock of **** I beg you not to download this game... By not downloading or purchasing it, you'll save yourself a lot of grief and turmoil.

World of Tanks4
Apr 19, 2014
You have to take into account that the Xbox 360 edition was developed by Microsoft Game Studios, not ****. The way they shamelessly false advertise by saying this is a 'free to play' game is an atrocity. (Coming from an Xbox Live Gold Member of three years.) You have to pay for a Gold Membership before you can even get your hands on the game. Many of my friends are Silver Members and really want to play with me but just can't afford Gold right now. I don't even want to talk about how unbalanced the game is... If you're playing a tier III scout tank, you'll be thrown into a battle with tier Vs. and VIs. Same for artillery... My shells don't do jack against tier VIII armor when I'm in a tier VI. The physics are extremely unrealistic and it seems as if you crew is completely invisible. Where's my loader when a new shell is being loaded? Where's the commander? Shouldn't he be peeking out the hatch, looking through his binoculars for enemy targets? Your tank can become completely unresponsive sometimes, rendering you a several ton hulk of cannon fodder, easily picked off by tank destroyers. This occurred many times, mostly when driving over a hill or something. It seems as if my tank gets stuck in the terrain, another case of lousy programming. Don't even get me started on how many 'gung-ho' Call of Duty kids play this game. They rush out into battle thinking they're invincible, only to be picked off by a goddamn scout tank or something. Then they yell and scream at you through their five dollar microphones, trying to blame their own misfortunes on someone else. Well, mostly just insulting you and saying how you're 'gay' or something... I just sit there and wonder to myself, "where are the parents?" But I digress... The tank detection system is a complete joke... Many times I have gotten killed by it. I'll get detected, take cover, become undetected, and leave the cover only to be blasted to smithereens because the enemy can still see me, even though it said I was not detected. Don't sit there and tell me that this is because you can still be hit when your undetected, because I already know this... It's called trace-firing. But I'm talking about when I haven't fired any shots whatsoever so it can only be the shoddy detection system. By the way, if you want any chance of getting to the higher tiers in a reasonable time period, you're going to have to buy premium time. Getting premium time is achieved by buying gold, the premium currency, and then buying premium time with the gold. Doesn't anyone else smell greediness or is it just me? Premium time greatly increases your experience and silver accumulation after every battle. Without premium, you'll be grinding like crazy. That's all this game is, a grind. Don't let others fool you into thinking this is a good way to spend your money. You might as well be wiping your ass with those dollar bills if you plan on spending them on this game. In conclusion, this is one of the worst shameless cash grabs I have ever seen. Don't let mindless Microsoft drones con you into playing this. Avoid it like the plague.

Ah, good old Minecraft... I honestly don't know where to start with this one. Discussing Minecraft in a negative manner is extremely dangerous thanks to the amount of drooling drones that will defend this game to their last breath. Hmm... Well, let's break this review up into multiple categories. 1. Graphics This is a very subjective and sensitive topic to elaborate on. It all comes down to your personal opinion. Some people like Minecraft's 'retro' graphical style, and some people say it's disgusting. But games aren't all about the graphics, right? Well, maybe for some people... Don't worry though, the vast modding community surrounding the game has come up with many fantastic texture mods to suit your needs. Hell, you can even make a texture mod yourself if you wanted to. Personally, I think the original textures look bland and boring, but I digress... 2. Sound The sound design for Minecraft is nothing short of a masterpiece. Whether smashing a block, or listening to the game's soundtrack, you'll instantly be satisfied. I haven't found one person that doesn't like Minecraft's vast soundtrack. It has a calm and soothing tone to it. Sometimes you'll hear creepy cave wind sounds when mining, or hear running water when near a stream. It's definitely one of the better things about Minecraft. There are many different sounds modifications as well. 3. Gameplay Minecraft's simplistic nature is what makes it so easy to pick up and play. Well, when you learn the different crafting recipes of course. But this fact is also it's greatest downfall... After you've conquered every dungeon and cave, found every mineral and treasure, and built your own little town, there's not much left to do. The game has no plot or purpose, it's just kind of there for you to paint your own world on the canvas of your own choosing. I'm simply saying after doing this same process over and over, it starts to grow on you. It becomes less and less exciting for every diamond or rare goodie you find. Don't worry though, there's tons of mods to keep you interested, right? Eh, most of the mods are focused on making the game even easier than it already is so... it's a mixed bag. It all comes back to your own opinion. 4. Community This goes without saying... Minecraft's community is horrible. Lemme give you some insight on what kinds of 'people' I've come across. A. Extremely immature children that think they know everything and anything about the world. B. Teenagers that have no life outside of coming home from school and sitting on their computer. C. Adults in their 30s and 40s that haven't quite grown up yet. D.(EXTREMELY RARE) All around good people that respect fellow players and the game itself. So yeah, another mixed bag... Eh, this topic is pretty pointless. It'll only serve to get more mindless drones to thumb down this review because they can't accept the truth. Conclusion... All in all, this game is not horrendously bad... It has it's flaws, but let's be honest... The only thing that has kept this game afloat in recent years is the vast modding community that adds new content regularly. The original developers, Mojang, have become greedy and lazy, and are just letting the community do their work for them. The only thing they seem to add to the game are more bugs and glitches. I am appalled at the childish behavior by the main developers on social media sites... But the matter of the fact is, money changes people. It makes them evil. That's a fact we can all agree on... Thanks for reading guys. I appreciate you taking time out of your day for my review. To all the mindless drones, go ahead and thumb this down into oblivion. I really don't care. -Starkiller94

As someone who got this free with an Xbox Live Gold Membership, this game is garbage. The game literally makes me sick to my stomach when I play it, especially when driving. Why you ask? Because it's so damn blurry. Literally, the whole game is like a huge blur when fighting, driving, etc... Besides that, the game looks like a cartoon. When I slam a guy's head into a exhaust fan, I expect his head to get chopped up. But no, he falls out of the damn thing with no blood or cuts on his face whatsoever. That's another thing, the violence in this game is so kiddy. Seriously, play GTA and you'll see a huge difference. All the enemies are sterotypical racist kung-fu guys that yell "wah!" and "yee!" and "hah!" constantly. I know it's supposed to be Hong Kong but for pete's sake, this isn't a Jackie Chan movie. Besides, Jackie Chan is a disgrace to his people and culture because he makes fun of himself literally all the time. Anyway, just don't even think about buying this game if you want an enjoyable experience. The formula is this: Drive to this location, beat up 20 guys, drive somewhere else, pick up this person, etc, etc... Borrrinnng! Jeez...

When 343 Insudstries took over the Halo series, it officially died. Bungie is the only developer that can really do the Halo games justice. I will stand by this fact until the day I die. This game might be good for smart phones, but it does not belong on consoles. Think of that one Warhammer 40k top-down shooter with a Halo paint job and there you go. I can't wait for Destiny to arrive because it will blow the motherf*ckin' lid off 343 and their shameful contributions to the Halo universe, even though it's not a Halo game.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag5
Jan 10, 2014
Here we are, another year, another Assassin's Creed installment. To be honest, this game is medicore at best. After the Assassin's Creed 3 flop, it seems the games are starting to take a step in the wrong direction. Mixing pirates and assassins in my opinion is really ridiculous... I mean, sailing the seas and taking out infinite waves of enemy ships starts to become very tiresome after a while. While Assassin's Creed 3's naval combat was fun, it's really nothing to boast about. It was cool because you got to sail to different islands and stuff, but the combat was really buggy and felt very unrealistic. Seriously, this is Assassin's Creed, not Pirates of the Assassin's Creed... Come on Ubisoft... I'll be saving my money as my friend let me borrow this to test it. Also, I don't know why people are giving it so much rep for the graphics. It looks exactly like AC3 at least on the Xbox 360 version. I don't know how someone could give this game a 10. No game in history deserves a perfect score in my opinion, because games are never perfect. But mindless Ubisoft drones were quick to gobble this up and crap out 9s and 10s. If you must play this game, just wait. It will be appearing in the game store bargin bin pretty soon.

The economy for GTA Online is disgustingly broken. This one fact overshadows the main story, and everything else. If I spend $60 on a game, I should not be shamelessly encouraged to dish out more for virtual cash. But that's what they do unfortunately... The prices for garages, apartments and cars are extremely outrageous. Well, unless you want a scummy-ass garage or apartment, you'll be paying an upwards of 400,000 in-game money. You also pay like a 50 to 200 in-game money hospital bill everytime you die, which is extremely annoying and pretty much forces you to buy the money packs if you want an enjoyable experience. The players online will show you no mercy, and I have been pointlessly gunned down for scraps of cash many times. There's passive mode which stops you from being shot or beat to death on foot, but it's literally useless because people can still run you over or kill you in your vehicle. The players that are dumb enough to pay real money for virtual money, will have tanks, helicopters, planes, you name it... They all exploit the power of the vehicles too, mercilessly gunning less privileged players down. This one player was even crying on the microphone because these idiots kept killing him and took all his money... That's really sad, but I guess that's the kind of image Rockstar wants to portray. It disgusts me and I will most likely never purchase a Rockstar product again. Bottom line: Micro-transactions don't belong in $60 games. Anyone who supports the idea of them being in retail games is a power-hungry ****.

This was a pretty big disappointment for me... To the people saying that this could've easily been DLC for Battlefield 3, you are pretty much right. I thought they were going to make groundbreaking upgrades to the series, but it's nothing different from Battlefield 3. There's still ridiculous bugs and glitches, the weapon and vehicle balancing is out of control, and the players on the servers are awful. It's already been plagued with people jet ramming and stuff... The graphics look horribly outdated on the Xbox 360, looking worse than Battlefield 3 (I don't know how that's possible, but it's true...) If they patch the game and fix the balancing, my score would be around 7 or 8. For now, it's going to remain in the middle category.
