It's difficult to remember which tricks you’ve performed in a race, and which ones have yet to be done... It would have been nice to have stunts “reset” after a while.

Best non car racing game out there, water and vehicle physics are realistic but fun and intuitive. Cool hidden secret shortcuts but also hidden creatures like Nessie.
(As a child it terrified me yet i always came back so it launches me across the map. Additionally has a 10/10 memorable soundtrack just like most 2000s racing games. There are secret tricks only visible in the manual or a guide. It has hidden collectibles that unlocks hidden maps and charachters. Funny videos at the end every time you beat the game with a certain character. Game was way ahead for its time, specially watter physics and the way the boat moves in it without felling clunky and always having 100% of the controll. I always come back once a year to beat the campaign. BEST WATER SPORT GAME OUT THERE PERIOD. Ps: the game is not hard even on hardest difficult, anyone who says different is just skill issue.

Splashdown es un juegazo que para su época ofrecía una jugabilidad excelente. El control de las motos acuáticas se siente muy bien y fluido en cada nivel. Los gráficos también son impresionantes para el tiempo en que salió, todo corre sin fallos y con mucha naturalidad. Lo que más me encantó fue la música: temas de rock y canciones más tranquilas que le dieron un aire fresco a las carreras y siguen sonando increíble hoy en día. Además, este juego tiene un enorme valor sentimental para mí, fue una parte importante de mi infancia y siempre será mi favorito.

I used to love this game as a kid, and maybe I'm just looking back on it with rose-tinted lenses but I remember putting hours upon hours of time into many of the different game modes. Not very intricate or complicated, but just good old fun.

The best racing game of the year..."Gran Turismo 2" and "3" are just as good, but they are definitely not better than Splashdown.

As long as you don’t mind a slightly more technical feel and a hefty challenge, you’ll find the best thing to happen with jetskis since the N64’s Wave Race.

This game was not very good. Great looking water and realistic physics. I played waverunner on 64 and was able to do fine in that. I play numerous racing games but it was impossible to get past the 2nd level in this game on normal mode. I always had full turbo and never made mistakes but people in last place were faster than me and everyone was perfect at only the 2nd level. Stick with waverunner and enjoy it.
