Nindie Spotlight
A somewhat casual hidden object-type game where you interact with everything via shots from your sniper rifle? How very American, weird, and somewhat entertaining…

Sniper Dan delivers an absurd but loveable idea where we use a sniper rifle to help people with their predicaments, and it works. The objectives are genuinely fun, and while some of them can be frustrating to find, they are challenging in a fair way, and the controls are precise enough for us not to mess up too much, especially on the Switch 2. The additional jobs, as well as the time trial and ammo hunt modes are welcome additions, even if the minigames and collectibles feel less relevant after a while. Good for short sessions and with a decent replay value, Sniper Dan doesn't take itself too seriously, and that's the way we like it.

Loot Level Chill
A hidden object game packed with wacky shenanigans as far as the eye can see, Sniper Dan is a surprisingly fun time that your family can join in with too.

I do love a good hide-and-seek like experience. Hidden Folks sold me on its charm with the cute visuals and audio design. And I had hoped to get something similar out of Sniper Dan. Where perception is rewarded. But in the end, I got bored fairly quickly. Viewing the world through a scope becomes a tunnel and made me less appreciative of the level designs. Its absurd humor did give it a distinct flavor, but with the meaningless rewards and progression this wasn’t a game I really wanted to stare at for too long. Because in the end that made me a bit too aware of how hollow it feels. Sniper Dan is a competent game, but once you’ve shot your shot, that is about all I can say.
