That's the word for Civ VI: labyrinthine. By the time you've seen enough of it to determine whether or not you even enjoy it, the question is moot. You've digested its interlocking systems so thoroughly that, like it or not, they're part of you now. Such is its insidious nature: for all its soaring symphonic overtures and passionate rhetoric about the steady advance of humanity in the face of unimaginable adversity, Civ depicts all of human endeavor – from literature to sailing to knitting – as intractable conflict, a never-ending struggle to dominate your enemies that reduces every field imaginable to a rat race across a doomed planet.

You don’t want to spend your night in front of the computer? You have a wife and kids? You cherish your friendships and enjoy parties? Beware of this game. It’s that good. [13/2016, p.44]
It's a more playful, fun feel to the franchise, perhaps, but all that's wrapped around a deeply nuanced game. If you've ever enjoyed playing a multi-layered, immersive and strategic board game with a bunch of funny characters, get in here.

It's okay, but if forced to choose a 4x game I'm going with Stellaris 100% of the time. Even after 20 hours and plenty of Youtube tutorials Civ 6 doesn't have anywhere near the same immersion as Stellaris.

This game was a very good experience. Propably one of the best Strategy games I have played(it is my first experience of the franchise). The music and the mecanics of the game were really addictive. I almost gave it a 9/10, but there are two main negatives that I want to talk about. First: the game is reeealy slow. You can literally spend almost 20 hours to complete just 1 game, and it can be a problem for some people. And secondly: the price. I got this game for free, so this wasn't a negative for my, but 60 euros for this game is much more than too much. But, if you have the opportunity to buy this on discount, and you have time, I really recommend this game. For me it was a blast.

Although it’s not without flaws, the sixth Civilization brings a lot of outstanding news and makes its mark into the history of the series as crucial point break to a slightly new form of a good old recipe. [Issue #269]

Sid Meier’s Civilization VI is a joy to play, and the best the series has produced. Which pretty much makes it the best 4X strategy game yet made. If you’ve $80 in your pocket and a half decent PC at home, this is a game that will happily and greedily consume as much of your leisure time as you allow it this fall and well beyond.

I love this have! It‘s a great strategy game and i love the different winning options and the dlcs are very good too. I only don‘t like loyalty bit i think that‘s my fault cause i loose a lot of my city's because of that. My only criticism is that that the late game is sometimes a bit boring because you know who will win because the late game has not such a big impact.

Civilization remains the preeminent turn-based strategy game. This iteration has a lot of good ideas and a few flaws in execution. The flaws will be fixed, the good ideas will stay and deepen over time.

Civ VI has improved upon nearly every system and mechanic in the game, at no real cost to the experience. It's the easiest Civ to play, but it's also the most complex Civ to date. There's enough default automation that you can ignore a lot of the minutia if you want, but micromanagers like myself will still have all the tedium they can dream of. There's nothing quite as satisfying as pillaging every single tile in an aggressive neighbor's civilization.

Civ 6 has a few rough edges, but they’re pushed far into the periphery by spectacular strategic depth and intricate interlocking nuances. Any frustrations I experienced were immediately eclipsed by my desire to continue playing. Just one more turn, every turn, forever.

At its worst, Civilization VI is a game with a handful of bugs and a somewhat lacking AI that is wrapped up in a somewhat cartoon-like package. At its best however, Civilization VI is an engrossing 4X strategy game that has more depth and features than ever before.

It’s not my place to second guess game design. As you know, you go to Civilization with the game you have, not the game you might want or wish to have at a later time. But it is my place to note that when I go to Civilization, I’m looking for more than just a laid back single-player cities builder with the AI frittering idly in the margins. I cut my teeth on Sid Meier’s grand strategy without a brain-dead tactical layer drizzled over the top. I admire a lot of what Firaxis is doing to move on from the mess of Civilization V. They’re headed in the right direction, even if they are dragging a lot of baggage.

Civ 6 nailed deep strategic decision-making, player agency, and empire-building. Each game felt unique with meaningful choices in loyalty, great people, and diplomacy. The UI had quirks, but the depth of mechanics and emergent gameplay made it an endlessly replayable experience. A true evolution of the series.

It was a long way to get there. If your only question is: Should i buy this game? Yes, definitely. You should buy it over pretty much every other 4X game, even Civ5 and definitely Civ7 can be considered worse games than this. This game is thousands upon thousands hours of content for pretty cheap price (around 30 euro on sale for full game). So, if you didn't play the game review can be considered over for you. I definitely recommend this game. Final score is at the end, but there is gonna be not a lot of talk about basic stuff. Civ6 praise and critique. A long wall of text could be written about Civ6 issues, but let's talk about good things: 1) Repeatability. Many Paradox gamers can talk anything they want about how the game is boring and the same every game, but if you dive deeper into core gameplay there is a lot of things balanced around your decisions and game accepts many different strategies to reach any victory type. Also, every civilization, leader, spawn location influence a lot. 2) Deep. Core mechanics are very deep and influence all other mechanics a lot. Your early pantheon can make or break the game, districts are core for any victory type etc. 'Additional' mechanics from DLCs or mods are worse, but still many of them can change your game in even unknown to your eye things. 3) One more turn effect. Present and addictive more than in any game series. This things are the best things that Civ6 can offer, core game without any mods are balanced pretty good if you don't abuse it and your strategies work and work very well most of the time. You can influence every little aspect and change the course of entire run by little decisions. It is so addictive and fun! Bad things are present too and there are a lot of things I hope gonna be fixed in Civ8 ( because Civ7 is broken beyond repair ). Let's focus on two main problems: 1) AI. It's stupid, unbalanced, unfair and not fun at all. Early game you feel like punching bag, late game is walk in the park if you know any good tactic and understand basics of how to win. Even mods can't fix this things and you need to actively avoid abusing the game and AI to not break immersion. 2) Multiplayer. Bugs, unfair balance in the base game and stupid amount of time you need to finish even a duel on the smallest map breaks MP experience for ****, I love this game. I really hope Civ7 gonna become a better version of it or modders gonna create It, because some things are just impossible to ignore. If you want to improve your experience, please install mods. Be careful with them and play around to see what suites you the most. Around 150+ hours of Epic Civ6 version without mods taught me how painful sometimes is to play vanilla game. Time for final score! "Story": 6/10. Civ6 is NOT historically accurate game and it works badly with presenting it, but the immersion effect is pretty great and the game itself without forcing it creates a pretty funny liberal-communist situation. Gameplay: 8/10. There are issues discussed above, but game is still one of the best 4X games with deep mechanics that have meaning. Is it too long? Yes. Games on faster difficulties break immersion, games on longer difficulties are 40+ hours to finish. I recommend using mods to fix this issue. Graphics: 6/10. Controversial style, but very readable and 'stylish' in it's own sense. Final score: 76/100. Civ6 is not perfect 4X, jeez, it is not even perfect Civilization game but it is very deep and meaningful and addictive for you to spend 1000+ hours on it. Deffo recommend!

Civilization VI, grand strategy denince akla gelen ilk oyunlardan biri.

This game is too weird and too complex, with stupid and cartoonish art style. Feels like a manga game for zoomers. Besides, with all DLCs this games costs more the 200 $. I have over 1000 hours of gameplay in Civilization 5, and I could never get used to Civilization 6. Civilization 5 is much better in every way.

Really fun to play with friends. Don't bother playing it alone, the AI is absolutely worthless. Also the graphics are somehow much worse than 5. Districts are a cool idea, but overall its inferior to 5 + Vox Populi.
