RIGS: Mechanized Combat League may be the posterchild for PlayStation VR, but it's not the headset's MVP. While this future sports sim has a strong art style and some interesting ideas, it struggles to get the business done where it matters – on the pitch. Nauseating action and mushy combat really cause this contender to drop points.

Probably the first true competitive sports game in virtual reality. It has its flaws, sure, but it offers an entertaining experience sports fans will definitely enjoy.

Despite RIGS’s modest content hats down to Guerrilla Games for proving that there’s a place in virtual reality for real, fast-paced first-person shooters, not just the on-rail variety. [13/2016, p.78]

This was a pretty cool launch title, graphics were great. I wish I didn't feel so sick while playing it but that's just me.

I was looking for a game for shorter VR sessions from time to time - RIGS met these expectations. Although the career mode in the long run does not give more motivation to fight the bots (skins and costumes) in smaller doses can make the evening even more pleasant. Both the games themselves and the testing of various types of mechs draw in. In the long run, however, there are certain disadvantages of the position such as a small variety of RIGS, or the lack of free configuration. They have probably influenced the falling popularity of this title in the network. Let's get back to the campaign. In this mode, the most uncomfortable is the lack of the ability to issue instructions to our teammates. Despite the fact that the IS is doing well alone, it sometimes lacks the possibility of working out a coherent tactic such as defense of the goal or a common attack. Surprisingly, the rival teams are able to cooperate efficiently, especially in the higher leagues. At the end it is worth emphasizing that if you have a problem with virtual reality, then you may have a problem with RIGS - so let's try a free demo before buying. Advantages Graphics Dynamic gameplay Intuitive control Disadvantages There is no possibility to configure RIGS A small variety of mechs You can not give commands to the team There is no sparring mode Full reviev ****/gry-vr/psvr-gry/rigs-liga-mechanicznych-mistrzow/

I think giving this game 10/10 is exaggerating. It's just a shooter with sport based game modes. It's very cool because of feeling vr gives you. I spent a lot of time playing it and had fun, but at the same time I knew, that I most likely wouldn't play it at all if the same game wasn't vr. I give it 7 for - good graphics, quite sharp like for vr game - very nice feel of driving a robot - interesting game modes (3 of them) - good map design - option to play with bots. This is very important in online games, since in many vr games it's barely possible to find someone to play with - quite big replayability like for vr game I wish it had more levels (it has just 3 levels if I remember correctly), and matches would load faster. It has unnecessary cut scenes between matches, maybe implemented there to give you some rest between gameplay to avoid simulation sickness. Overall, I recommend it. I find it much cooler than for example starblood arena.

RIGS: MCL is the very best VR experience that this system has to offer. The level of intense action, overall comfort while playing and the feeling of complete control round out a stellar VR package.

RIGS: Mechanized Combat League is a game that really shouldn't work but does. It steps aside from overbearingly realistic VR games before it and provides a simple and incredibly enjoyable alternative sports title. This is definitely one to consider if you are picking up a PlayStation VR soon.

This game is an ah-ha moment for me with VR. The combination of over-the-top combat sports at larger than life scale executed this well gave me chills and did so as an afterglow of participation. After a while you forget you're not a character IN the game. 10.

Why has this game got such a low score? It is an amazing experience. Firstly don't buy into vr if you want to hurl on a theme ride generally. Or even if you go over a large humpy bridge to quick and find that it's a bit unsettling. Because really in this your in a giant robot and will regularly get jettisoned 100ft in the sky and yeah by the way the name virtual reality kinda gives away what you have in store. Graphics are fabulous really, fuzzy in places yes, but looking out into the distance is very immersive place. Gameplay here is key and once used to the game online. Every single match is nail biting and always open to turn around in a few short minutes. I really don't get the malaise with some at vr. This for me is a classic must have game. Fair too, which so often doesn't feel the case in online mp games.

RIGS: Mechanized Combat League is one of the best games for PlayStation VR. Fast, funny and frantic. But it desperately needs more content.

Rigs manages to deliver fun and thrilling online matches. While some may experience motion-sickness due to the fast-paced gameplay, Guerrilla has done everything to contain the problem. What holds Rigs from achieving greater scores is the small number of game modes, which could make the game boring after a short period of time.

RIGS is only for players who don't feel dizzy while using the VR headset. The game lacks content when it comes to maps and modes, and isn't that good while playing offline. It is, however, a deep and demanding game, as well as really addictive and has the greatest verticality we've seen since Titanfall.

RIGS showcases the grandiose nature of VR, and the insane worlds it can create. I for one have been sold on the future possibilities, based on what I’ve seen here.

I might be lucky but all the comfort options turned off and not a trace of motion sickness even from the very first try...... so starting with everything to play for - the game looks great - the rigs are cool with a lot of variety in play style between the different chassis - the arenas are well designed and make for interesting combat - the game modes are also fun - all in all a good multiplayer FPS what i'd like to see going forward?.... well more MORE - more arenas - more game modes - and more customisation options for the rigs the reason i give it a 10 not a 9 because i'm an optimist and hope to see those updates in the future, i also feel it should be made aware that there are some great games out there and that its worth picking up psvr being guerrilla games would love to see a killzone game with mechs based on this complete with story campaign etc

Worst motion sickness I've had in a VR game. The opening cinematic for when you start matches doesn't give you any head movement and that was about the end for me. Tutorial is unbearably tedious. Movement is slow and clunky. I don't recommend.

Unplayable, made me sick both times I've tried to play. Even when I could handle it, it was just held back by the vr in terms of gameplay. This game represents everything people fear of vr, motion sickness, gameplay mechanics clearly restricted by the peripheral. Straightfoward shooter in mech, they did a great job in presentation, and making you feel like you're in an actual mech though.
