Not much to this fighting game. The actual gameplay is fun but is also very basic so it can get tedious after a while. The graphics were nice for its time. Some fights were memorable like the last one with ZUES. But overall an alright game especially if you enjoyed the movie.

Great game. Controls are easy to understand and customization is great. It's sad that it was discontinued in 2017. If they made a next gen version with better graphics, and more customization I would be the first to buy it.

I really loved this game, it's a shame you can't buy it now, really, developers bring this game back to the store and add it to Xbox One and Play Station 4

This is such a great game! I really love to play this when I get home from school. I really hope they make a number 2 for XBOX 360 or update the game more, That would be awesome!

i would have like it more if it wasn't so hard to make a decant robot. mine's either too slow, too weak, or both. not to mention that power meter goes down way too quickly.

This game is literally a contender for the worst game of all time. Why is this well if bad gameplay that's overly challenging, no story at all, and music that's so generic that you could have played around with a Mario Paint rip-off and came up with something more original. Well at least this was bought by my brother and not me. But I'ld better get into the review so I'll start with the gameplay... it's literally broken. Yes there are combos but are you going to memorize 15 combos just to fight THE FIRST ENEMY IN THE GAME. But you need to because if you don't then you loose, you know what even if you do you loose, this games first enemy is impossible to beat. I wonder if there even is anything after the first enemy in the game. Also by the way remember in the movie when they first fight that robot in the zoo. Well apparently he got really popular or something (after being destroyed by the way) and got into the robotic boxing federation. Because animating more then one arena is way to hard for one person with 50 cents and five seconds to create the game. Of course that couldn't be it because everything has to be wrong. The game play is very generic punch, kick, heavy it's all there... BUT IT DOESN'T WORK. And playing it is like taking a needle the old fashioned way. Even the get up is messed up, like how do you do it spam one button... no of course not you've got to do an awkward quicktime event that doesn't even make sense (and it's basically impossible to explain). Oh wait there's customization, but there's no way to customize past heavy, intermediate, and light in the beginning and because you can't win the first fight it's impossible to do it at all. Well at least there is no reason to keep going on anyway because there's no story or point. So don't play it infact once your done reading this just forget that Real Steal exists on anything, just watch the movie or watch a different movie or do anything but play this game.

I was going to give this game an 8/10 but after reading a lot of reviews.... It is a mixed batch for me. Personally... I love this game! I enjoyed playing it with my family, God family and friends. I did however find the fact that having to buy a robot in order to enjoy the game was a little annoying. Not only that.... the robot that you bought is more powerful then the rest of the roster. I would give this game at least a 6-7/10 only because I had a lot of fun with it but I do agree with most of the reviewers who gave this game a very low score!

ablindkid, drbooger.. AND OTHERS, WHAT HAPPENED WITH YOU GUYS? WHAT YOU WAITING? "A MILLION DOLLAR PRODUCTION" FOR $ 10.00. COME ONE, YOU ARE CRYING FOR $10 TO DOWNLOAD (800MS POINTS) AND MAYBE ANOTHER $ 15 (1200 MS POINTS) TO CUSTOMIZE A GOOD ROBOT, JUST $ 25.00. THE MOST OF GAME COST $ 50 TO $60. MRS, REAL STEEL WAS MADE TO PLAY LIVE AGAINST OTHERS, IT'S VERY FUN TO BUILD YOUR OWN ROBOT AND FIGHT WITH OTHERS. IT IS FUN CHOOSING ARMS , BODIES, LEGS, FIST AND CORE PARTS. GRAPHICS & 3D MOVES ARE NOT THE BEST BUT ARE VERY, VERY GOOD. IF YOU LIKE ROBOTS FIGHTS, BUY IT AND PLAY LIVE, REAL STEEL IS FUNNY. MY SCORE IS 9 / 10.

REAL STEEL is to Xbox Live Arcade what dog **** is to fine cuisine. It has absolutely no redeeming value. The moves and combos are clunky and rudimentary, the singleplayer is bland and everything; and I mean friggin EVERYTHING costs extra. This game is a shameless attempt to cash in on the movie license; and judging by the fact that its one of the most downloaded games on XBLA, it's doing just that. 1/10, and that's only because my console didn't explode when I started playing it.

At first glance, Real Steel for Xbox360, seems like a cheap, fun game to have. It only costs 800 Credits (about 12 Euros), to download into your Xbox. You start with a stock robot however it is so weak, it cannot beat even the weakest robot in the circuit. So then you spend another amount of points (from 5 to 10 Euros) from your account to buy at least a couple of upgrades. If you wish to change your robots color, you must spend more credits from your account. It costs 240 credits just to change colors. In time, you unlock items in the shop for your robot which can be bought the the "money" you earn in fights... however the requirements to actually equip them must be **** they are sky high. So you spend more real money (credits from your account) to get at least to a level where you can say you have a good robot. The idea behind the game is great, game play is lame. It only gets entertaining after you've spend quite a bit of money (at least 20 to 30 Euros), to upgrade your robot to a level you don't lose every single fight. I would have preferred the game was priced at the normal 60 Euros and bought in a store, in a box, and I could buy upgrafes with the game money I earned while fighting. I can only account this to greed. Potentially a player could spend over 100 Euros in Microsoft Credits to buy upgrades and create his dream robot fighter. The list of garage upgradres is long which is nice but the repetitive fighting in order to advance in levels so you can equip them is boring and pushes you to just spend Microsoft Credits to just buy them (if you spend the credits, you can equip anything regardless of your levels). Too bad, it could have been an awesome game if only the developers were not so greedy. Don't buy unless you have deep pockets.

Great game. I really don`t understand why people give it such a bad score ? In fact there is not much in main game and you should buy some DLC if you want some cool stuff, but you DON`T HAVE TO ! This is very important. Price is very low, so everybody can afford it and play. If you don`t have money you must spend some time to get stuff. But you also get skills. If you have rich parents you can save some time and get things quick, but no skill. This is what i call justice. Gameplay is very cool. No magic, and extra abilities but simple rules and moves. Power depletion is excellent factor, you can`t just hit your enemy endless, you must think. To get new parts you must learn how to defend yourself, you must learn to be quick, you must break some hands and heads and you must be effective. This is chalanging, no question about it. You can`t beat enemies in first encounter, you must find a tactic for almost each one of them. For some of them you`ll also need good parts. Getting money and opportunity to buy better parts you can learn new moves and technics. I have so much fun playing this game with my friends on couch-multiplayer. This is the best part of this game. Perfect for parties. Of course there are some things that could have been done better. I think customization and buying new parts could be done easier. Especially considering that kids will be playing it. I don`t understand why are we playing 3 stages of underground on 1 arena ??????? This is stupid, no question about it. WRB also 1 arena. Who designed it ? No idea. Music is getting boring after few hours. It shouldn`t be hard to put few more tracks in this game right ? Game has problems with saving data. Many times i lost my game progress going back to dashboard. You must enter shop or customization screen and change something (taunts f.i) and then get back to title screen to be sure that everything is saved. I`m not sure about Live multiplayer yet, cause i had few matches only so far. But it was little depressing. It`s very hard to find somebody with low skills (like i have) and weak robot. Most of these guys have top rated, shining all colors monsters. I can`t even scratch them with my robots fists... It should be more balanced or i must just get better in this game :). I think it was great idea to make cheap game and add many DLC for people who want their robot to look nice. People who can`t buy DLCs can get almost everything working hard. And getting skills in same time. This is cool idea. Unfortunately looks like i`m the only one who understands and likes it... I love movie and i love this game either.... It gave me many hours of fun and real satisfaction beating twice (or more) higher rated enemies with my real steel, not painted self made robot. Oh, and one more thing... You can find Charlie Kenton in this game (not like one if the reviewers mentioned) :) . Not personally but he is there piloting Noisy Boy in single player mode (check description). This game is worth buying and playing. I recommend it 100 %

The kids enjoyed the movie, so they were excited to see this game available on Xbox. We played the demo and, while it is pretty basic, it was fun enough to pay to "unlock the full game". Imagine my surprise then when, a few minutes into the "full game", we are informed that we can't customize the look of our robot unless we pay an additional fee for the "designer mode". And then we get to see the extensive laundry list of parts, moves, repair kits, etc available for additional fees. This game represents the very worst in developer greed. It's really despicable. Shame on them. The premise is solid - build and customize your robot as you progress through the ranks. As for game-play... it's mediocre. It's fun for the kids who loved the movie and just like fighting robots in general. In the little time I played with them, the difficulty gradient was way too steep. The very first fight was awkward and difficult right from the start... which I supposed is intended to encourage people to purchase more in-game dl-content to repair and upgrade their robot. Again, it is a money play. The fighting controls are alright, but getting up from a knockdown is downright infuriating. And while upgrades are the one shining feature of this game, navigating back and forth through half a dozen screens to edit each little piece of the robot is tedious at best... a real pain in the butt. Since we've already paid TWICE to play the game, I imagine the kids will spend a few more rounds with it, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else. Don't reward these greedy buzzards.

mildly fun game, but SOOOOOOOO LAME that you have to pay extra 240 MS credits as DLC to be able to change your robot's colors. Totally greedy!! Dont buy this game! otherwise it will encourage other developers to release games that are incomplete and will nickle and dime you more to play the whole game.
