Shooter fans will like RAGE, but it's lack of story or really innovative elements won't attract new players that didn't love other id games. I hoped for more, guys.

As a fun and frenetic FPS, Rage delivers in spades. That the same can't be said for the game's story is a real shame. It's especially disappointing as Rage feels like it's building to a strong crescendo, before fizzling out like a damp firework. Rage veers incredibly close to greatness then, but ultimately fails to win itself a cigar.

It's a beautiful pretender; but ultimately, beauty is only a surface attraction.

An open-world shooter in the vein of "Fallout" and "Borderlands". It's a fun action game, but also surprisingly short. The game is composed of three different modes; single-player story, cooperative missions and online car combat. But the story mode is brief, car combat lacks depth and the nine co-op levels are too short. Overall, "Rage" is enjoyable, but isn't too special. I would rate it with an 8.1 out of 10.

Rage may not represent the gigantic leap into the next era of games that's usually embodied by titles by id software, but it has reaffirmed their position as a premier developer when it comes to everything first person shooter-y.

The gameplay, both driving and shooting, is wild, gory fun; the graphics raise the bar on how a next-generation product is supposed to look; the audio is top-quality; and the multiplayer stuff that does exist is more than enough to keep you and your fellow gamers busy.

I understand that some people set the bar high, and I also understand that people compare games against the hype and expectations, but for me, this game is thoroughly enjoyable and fun. It has a fairly straight forward story and the controls are easy to operate. I enjoyed the graphics and the slant the writers put on this game. If you compared it to fallout or other games based on a similar post apocolypic story, then yes, it falls a bit short, but as a fps it is fun and challenging.

The great controls and useful weapon upgrades help make Rage's shooting parts a lot of fun, but the storyline fails to create any real tension and the game's characters, friendly and hostile, never do or say anything memorable.

Most surprising are the vehicle-based sections of the game. In a word, they're fantastic.

Rage is a stunningly rendered FPS, but one that seems caught between a desire to innovate and the desire to be true to the template its creators defined.

For any oomph it delivers, Rage relies on the same familiar gunshot sound effects and the same ridiculous ragdoll fatalities and the same silly enemies rolling left and right. Rage is a reminder how thin the line is between old school and old hat.

My Fave games: Ocarina of Time, Half-Life 2, Team Fortress 2, Super Mario World (SNES), Bioshock series, Mass Effect series, etc "RAGE" is an incredible experience that should not be missed. Only complaints are that 1) the last quarter of the game gets a little repetitive and 2) As far as I know, there will be no sequel. I can't believe the user rating for this game is so low. **** spoiled fanboys complaining abt minor graphical glitches, which John Carmack stated from Day 1 there would be. When you try to cram XBOX-One quality graphics onto the 360, small glitches will try to happen. Such a beautiful game all around. Pick it up now if u havent already!!

after 16 hours of playing I can say that it is a 7 overall, but if I had to give it separately I would give it: 9 gameplay, 6 story, 8 graphics I liked the gloomy, dark atmosphere and everything devastated around you, but I was disappointed by the story, linear, nothing to keep you hooked and get attached to the characters, Did I like it while I played? the answer is yes, if i would play it again? in the near future no, it can be better bethesda.

Rage was a major disappointment. It starts off promisingly as essentially Fallout 3 but with racing and therefore even closer to the Mad Max films. Sounds awesome, right? And the designers clearly put some major work into this. The graphics and animations are top-notch: This is literally one of best-looking games ever produced for the Xbox 360. The voice acting is outstanding as well, with John Goodman playing one of the key roles. But Rage just never **** me in like the Fallout games did. Partly it was because the game has no leveling up system, so there's little sense of progress or accomplishment as you play it. Partly it was because the missions were mostly standard kill or fetch quests, without much thought or imagination. Partly it was because the storyline was blah. Partly it was because of the game forces you to do various road race mini-games as part of quests rather than allowing other ways to advance. I'm not good at driving games in the first place and the controls for this one were hard as hell to learn so I was forced to replay the races endlessly before I finally got through them. The final straw though was when I started one mission, fought through an extremely tough group of bad guys to get to the destination only for a screen to pop up and inform me that I now had to buy downloadable content in order to progress. I had purchased a three-disc "Game of the Year" version so I had naively assumed that all that stuff had been included. Not so, apparently. Well, screw it, I thought. Why bother for a game that become a chore to play?
SummaryAn action game set in a post-apocalyptic landscape jam-packed with driving and shooting, created by John Carmack and the rest of the Doom crew.
