Lacks the oddball charm of the original. [May 2014, p.81]

A decent Pokémon spin-off for all ages, sold at the right price but shamefully missing an online component.

It's fun for spend some time in lines without caring about some story, but it does not go much further than that.

A very nothing game. No story what so ever, not even a professor telling you to fill the pokedex. Extremely easy until about 3/4, where there is an extreme difficulty spike to pad out this really short game. Game play is boring, and if you aren't a huge fan of the Pokemon franchise, then the tiles mean nothing to you, which means you have no idea if your attack will be super/ not very effective. This game makes me wish there was a way to return digital games.

This game is great and all but the flaws are battle ain't a good word to describe a puzzle game that you buy only on the eshop. Well the game is a good puzzle game though.

Despite its tedious shortcomings, Pokémon Battle Trozei is still a fantastic game that’s worth playing. This fast-paced combo frenzy is extremely addicting to pick up and play, making it an excellent addition to the existing Pokémon spin-offs.

Pokémon Link Battle is not the greatest pokémon game ever, but it works as a good spin-off from the original franchise, delivering an entertainment experience for just a few bucks. At least the game deserves an opportunity.

Pokémon Battle Trozei is a fun take on the Match-3 genre that rewards quick reflexes, strategic thinking, and Pokémon knowledge.

Pokémon Link: Battle! is a fun addition to the enormous Pokémon series, this time to its puzzle front. While it can get repetitive quickly, this game is mostly oriented towards short gaming bouts, as well as to local multiplayer sessions. The lack of an online component is a mystery, though. Fans of the Pokémon series and of puzzle games alike will find good reasons to put their hands on this.

At roughly ten times the price that these kinds of games usually ask over in the mobile world, it's difficult to see where the developers have justified the premium price, because what we have with Pokémon Link: Battle is a nice, but ultimately unremarkable match-3 game with much less content (yes, even with 700 critters to catch) than its immediate rivals.

An addictive, unique, fun, frantic, enjoyable and accessible fusion of Pokémon and Bejeweled/Tetris style gameplay. Not the greatest game you will ever play but a good title for your 3DS collection.

This game is very fast-paced and fun! It's not too difficult, and most can enjoy it! The artwork is very cool and there is more strategy in this game then at first glance! If you have some extra eShop money laying around, get this game!

One would think that with Pokémon Battle Trozei (or "Link Battle" in Europe) standing in the tradition of Pokémon Puzzle League and Pokémon Puzzle Challenge and it now incorporating battles and catching mechanics, it would surely be a must-have. Turns out it's far from that. It plays like a mix of Puzzle League and Bejeweled. It more or less chooses the most lenient rules from both games which makes for a very loose experience. There is a small difficulty spike, but overall the game is insultingly easy. The gameplay gets outright random when it comes to if a combo connects, especially when you get into the Match-2 combo mode. It has an extremely limited amount of modes (namely two: Singleplayer and Multiplayer) and the gameplay within those modes is stale, it doesn't really change no matter how far you progress. The presentation is also surprisingly lacking. The Pokémon for example don't give off their trademark voices. Can't really recommend this to anyone. Even (or maybe especially) Pokémon fans will be disappointed.
Summary(Also known as Pokemon Link: Battle!) Pokémon Battle Trozei is a game where players battle Pokémon to capture them through fast-paced puzzles. When you catch a wild Pokémon, it is called a Trozei. Your goal in this game is to Trozei every last Pokémon. You must make matches of the same Pokémon from among all the many Pokémon that fill yo...
