Ok so micro transactions aside, let's say you're like me and enjoy this series because you can't afford to play golf IRL, well you're used to clunky menus and the gameplay so there's no need to describe that, how does it differ from the last game though? It actually doesn't, there are new personality types which doesn't add much to gameplay at all, when players said yeah I want more customization they didn't mean they wanted to answer random questions about a fictional golfer, give me more clothes and hairdos and body types instead of just A and B (yes minus one for not knowing the difference between a man and a woman) let me be a goblin or some kind of animal man or something crazy, all the clothes and accessories are hidden behind grind walls and it's all as generic as the last game, also there aren't any new courses I get it, it's professional golf so only professional courses but they broke up the game with training sections that could have easily been new amateur course holes there are literally thousands of them in America so there's no real excuse other than we had one year to make this game, the course maker was in the last game and it's like learning brail to understand how it works, playing online isn't very competitive, it feels like we're playing pve game because they just added emotes to this game so you can spam during shots which sounds really realistic and fun guys just saying, the fact this game has nines shows review scores are bought and paid for by EA, this whole game could have been dlc for 2024 and no one would have been the wiser, no wonder sony made this game the free game of the month, no one could have possibly bought this game at launch price and felt like they got their monies worth, it's a twenty dollar game, seriously mid

As other reviews have noted there is a nasty 'almost' Pay To Win with this version. Players that forked out extra $$$ for pre-release deluxe versions get a bonus wad of VC (Virtual Currency). VC is necessary to improve your golfers abilities. You can also "buy" VC" with real cash. If you choose to buy the standard version of the game it is a grind to improve your golfer. You will find for example you are uncompetitive in Societies against players who purchased deluxe versions, or have forked out $$ for VC. The problem is while your grind is very slowly earning you VC and improving your abilities, the players who paid for deluxe and VC are also earning VC at a similar rate, so it may take many months to catch up. Graphics are fine, although performance mode looks little different to the 2K23 version (which was good). Thankfully the quality graphics mode does not appear to impact speed.P

Menus and game okay are the slowest thing I have ever seen. Games freezes about every 30-45 minutes.

I normally don’t write game reviews, but I feel it’s my duty this time because this game left me disgusted. The menus are painfully slow and cluttered. There’s way too much going on, and simple navigation becomes a chore. The gameplay itself is far too easy. You can rely on the native aim and swing system to stay close to your target without much effort. With minimal experience, I was shooting -13 every round on Pro difficulty. There’s no challenge and nothing particularly engaging about the mechanics. This is where the game completely lost me. Normally, I ignore microtransactions and just play the game. But here, they’re unavoidable and frustrating. I won a tournament that should’ve rewarded me with a decent payout—yet I got nothing. A new driver costs 800 credits, while the store offers 500-credit packs for $12.99 CAD. That’s not even enough to buy one club. Ridiculous. Between the clunky menus, dull gameplay, and exploitative microtransactions, this game feels plain ugly. Worse, it isn’t even fun to play. I won’t be bothering with it any longer.
