Amazing DLC that changed the game completely. Painkiller: Hell and Damnation is a remaster of the first Painkiller game and its expansion: Battle Out of Hell. The game follows the same story line and mechanics, but offers a lot more content like challenge maps, a unique Halloween map and the introduction of co-op. It now runs on the Unreal Engine and looks fantastic. You can clearly see that this is a game of the new millennium. Some stages are not available until you buy them as DLC, the same goes for the Tarot cards and skins. And speaking of DLC, this game has a ton of it. You never have the feeling that you have a complete game because you miss some random DLC. The only game that I know of that is worse than this, is Borderlands 2 with its million pieces of DLC. The third DLC I completed was Painkiller Hell & Damnation Heaven's Above. This one came as a suprise for me. Suddenly, I played from a top down perspective and was playing a completely different game. It inmidiatly switched to some sort of Contra game, with some puzzle solving. I actually enjoyed this way of playing very much and had a lot of fun completing the five new maps, and beating the Boss at the end. From all the million DLC this game offers, I think this one is my favorite. In the end, I still think Painkiller: Hell and Damnation is a good game, just not as epic as the original game and its expansion. This is mainly because of the commercial vibe that this game has and the missing levels and enemies, but when playing, it still feels like Painkiller. Still recommend it though.
