Very fun game! I just wish it was as popular as it is in Japan. There's also the PC version, but I only recommend playing the Switch version as there's more players and content.

Obakeidoro! is a game like Dead by Daylight but for family users. It is simple so I became addicted to it. One of my friends living in Japan introduced this game to me as the game was free-give-away from Nintendo, which means great game, right? I can play as a ghost to chase humans, or play as humans to run around/ hide. It is fun that we can play both sides. In addition, there are so many on-line matches to join, so it is not like a game just sits there. it changes time-to-time! Why don't you play with your family? It is fun!

OBAKEIDORO Haunted Hide and Seek Obakedoro is a 3 v 1 multplayer hide and seek game, this game can be played solo or online, though you do need Nintendo online if you want to play online… Here you choose a side, youre either a monster, or youre one of the kids.. as a child you run around hiding, you have a lantern, you can crouch behind beuildings, hide in grass, all while the other player hunts you down, your goal is to last 3 minutes with your team, the mosnters goal is to capture all 3 of you, as the monster you can faintly see foot prints, youcan slowly move through walls and building, allowingyou to cut paths short, some mosnters have better reach and better jump, which depending on the map you play, you have your advantages in each… and youll have your ghost friends searching for the children, telling you the direction to go if thye spot one, if youre spotted you run, you an use your lantern to temporarily stun the monster, but yif you get caught, your team can come unlock the cage and rescue you, both sides have their advantage and disadvantges, their pros and cons.. for the child side, you can easily bait the monster while a 3rd player frees your team, and at the same time as the monster, you can bait the children with a capture, just hide and wait for someone to ocme and make a rescue… playing on both sides will level you up, allowing you to purchase new lanterns with new parks, as well as new monsters to play with.. sadly though the variety of gameplay is lacking for me to do such a thing, the mosnters don’t feel that much differentfrom one another, and there are only 5 maps heres, that don’t really feel like they cnage the game up, just the cosmetics.. though there are more maps to unlock once you’ve played in the others enough, but all they are the same 5 maps with just a different time setting.. you will have a fun weekend with this game, hiding from the mosnters or hunting these children down, but I don’t see obakeidoro taking much more of your time.. I give obakeidoro a 6/10

Obakeidoro is a game I hadn't heard of until recently, but it immediately caught my attention. I'm a big fan of similar games like Dead By Daylight and Friday the 13th, so seeing a game with similar gameplay - but with the adorableness of the little anime chibi characters - made me instantly want to buy it. Obakeidoro, simply put, is a fun game. If you play as a human, your goal is to survive 3 minutes, and if you play as a monster, your goal is to capture all the humans before 3 minutes is up. I've played it both with friends and online with strangers, and most of the time I've really enjoyed it, and it has been tons of fun. The gameplay and mechanics are very simplistic, but the variation in maps and monsters keeps the game feeling fresh each time I jump into it. The artstyle and game direction in general are very charming, and make the game nice to look at. The community playing the game is relatively small - I sometimes end up playing with the same people - but the game replaces players with CPU's if it can't find any real players to fill the lobby. The CPU's are mostly competent, and so they don't feel like they're making the game worse. A major criticism I have though is that it's not uncommon to bump into cheaters when playing the game - there has been numerous times I've played as the monster, but have been unable to catch the humans because they're using cheats that make me unable to grab them. This is frustrating, but it isn't frequent enough to ruin the game. There has not been any new content added to the game for months now, and I'm really hoping more gets added in the future - the game is lots of fun, and it clearly has a small but dedicated community who still play it, even after a year since launch. I can imagine continuing to play this game for a long time into the future, especially if there's more updates adding new maps, humans and monsters!
