This new NFL Blitz does what the series has always done best... make football intense and cram it down to under 10 minutes a game.
NFL Blitz's online co-op offerings are similarly robust. You can simply jump into a co-op game with up to three different friends, including a guest on the couch with you.
NFL Blitz is great at being what it was originally supposed to be: an arcade football game. It has fun gameplay, good graphics and funny announcers. If you just stick to that, NFL Blitz is worth the $15 cost. If you expect classic NFL Blitz late hits or accurate gameplay you will be disappointed.

horrible, uses the same engine as madden, nothing like the original. There is a lack of game modes and gameplay is repetitive. Waste of Microsoft Points

A fantastic title, NFL Blitz is like revive a classic; the gameplay is awesome, the graphics wow are beautiful, the characters and the online are fantastic. NFL Blitz is a great title.

Blitz is still more fun than Madden, but it is missing a few things. The gameplay is still intact, everything from the playbooks to the animations are the same except for the late hits which actually is a big deal when you have attention deficit disorder. ;) The game is very fun online, especially with a friend and the Gauntlet mode is awesome for offline, but Blitz needs a season mode for stats addicts like me who are sick of Madden. Who cares if it's arcade football? The others had it, so why not it's updated version. If it had franchise or even season mode, then it would have scored a 9 but unfortunately EA left it out.

NFL Blitz is one of the best, if not the best arcade sports experiences on the market.

For the price at hand, this is a must have for Blitz fans and football fans alike. The sheer enjoyment is only hindered by a lack of customization options and, of course, the removal of some of the more violent content.

Great fun game to play with anyone who remotely likes football. I have always been just plain bad at sports games switching them out with GOW3 and BF3 but this is a great pick up and play game with much to do for 15 dollers!

Gaming Age
Sure the game has its hiccups like the aforementioned lack of running game, no roster updates, and no adjustment to the quarter lengths, but the game's roster could be 10 years old and the game would still be fun as heck to play. If you want realism, stick to Madden, but if you want pure and out adrenaline, then download NFL Blitz on XBLA or PSN as it may be simple, but it still is extremely fun to play. Now only if EA would bring back Mutant League Football and Road Rash, the circle of great redo's would be complete.

With NFL Blitz 2012 you're going to get almost exactly what you expect…minus the price tag. There are more modes than anticipated, but the gameplay never strays from the formula. Save for updated rosters and teams, there's not much point in replacing your legacy copy of the game, but for newcomers it's an impressively fun package for a small price.

Exactly what it needs to be: stupid good fun. The only thing it's missing is that old pizza parlor smell.

NFL Blitz is still one of the most interesting and ambitious football video game on the market today, however this style of sports game may be a little out of date. While it is fun for a while if you don't extend your interest into the multiplayer or play with a friend you may never see your dollar amount from this. Fans of the original Blitz should get everything they want out of this game and new comers should definitely check it out but this title may only appeal to a certain nostalgic audience.

NFL Blitz 2012 isn't going to re-invent the way you look at football, or, in fact, the way you look at Blitz. There's not a whole lot there, and it really doesn't make any sense that they took out the fun extracurricular violence, but, in the end, it's a game you'll play every now and again and smile while you're doing it.

If you like the old blitz games you will love this. Online play is fun, nothing like schooling someone blitz style. The only thing missing is late hits and that holds it from a 10 for me

Fantastic fun!!! The gameplay and controls are smooth and the sound is great. The visuals are over the top, but really match the Blitz line of games. If you are looking for a **** play Madden. This is a near perfect remake of the old arcade game with slightly updated rosters. There are some obvious flaws in the line **** nothing a Blitz fan would balk at. Does Michael Vick throw right handed in the game? **** who cares? This is a $15 game that could have been tweaked slightly and sold for $50.
