Despite the control issues though, Masquerade: The Baubles of Doom is still very much an enjoyable game.

The comedy is spot-on with some very funny moments of dialogue and I especially enjoyed the narrators input. The combat is ok but I would have liked it to have felt a bit tighter and more responsive.

Masquerade is a bit like Leslie Nielsen’s comedy movies – silly and childish, but it’s hard to hold back laughter. It’s a pity that the gameplay can’t keep up with the humor, exposing the developers’ tight budget and lack of experience. [07/2016, p.69]
