You could see Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as an easy port, because it is to a certain extent. But it would be silly to disregard the ultimate fun this kart experience offers because of this. If you have a Nintendo Switch, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is an essential purchase you will play for over three years and never regret buying.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a refinement rather than a remaster, but one that corrects the few flaws of its predecessor. It would be nice if there was just a bit more new content to help justify the full price release, or if you didn't have to unlock kart mods all over again, but for the foreseeable future, this is the definitive – and best – Mario Kart experience.

A game that has been around for so long yet never gets old. Extremely good at what it does but doesn't try anything new .

Uma das melhorias franquias da Nintendo, se não é a melhor. Jogabilidade sensacional, colocaria o melhor jogo multiplayer de corrido.

Much of this will seem like a given to Switch owners, but it's still completely relevant in terms of what validates picking up this version of Mario Kart 8. It's not only the "complete" and current experience, but one transformed by its hardware. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the definitive version as we're likely to know it from now on, and thanks to the nature of the Switch, it's worth every penny.

Mario Kart 8 was already a simply sublime kart racer on Wii U, but Nintendo have managed to make it just that little bit better. From the new and improved Battle Mode to tweaks that add more depth for veterans and more accessibility for novices, a great deal of thought and effort went into Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, beyond simply porting it to Switch. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe continues to be the best in the business, and now you can play it on the train.

Certamente é o melhor Mario Kart. A jogabilidade é imbatível. Mesmo sem o pacote de expansão a diversidade de pistas e personagens é ótima.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is straight-up a better version of the game without compromise. It looks better, there's more to do, it's portable, and it might even outsell the Wii U version to ensure a healthier long term community.

For a port of an older Wii U title, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe feels like a brand new game that everyone can enjoy. Whether this is your first Mario Kart or your eighth, there's enough here to satisfy your thirst for racing.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe plays exceptionally well and its pick-up-and-play nature feels right at home on Nintendo Switch. There may not be any game-changing additions, but new items and characters, as well as an insanely fun Battle mode, help round out an already-impressive package.

Mario Kart 8 remains one of the highlights of the franchise and while it would have been nice for The Switch to get a new title rather than a Deluxe repackage, this thing plays like a dream and is overflowing with content.

It has so many courses, characters, combo costumization and five modes of battle mode. That's why this is the goat of mario kart.

I have put so many hours into this game but after a while becomes very stale but good fun with friends

Okay, but not a patch on MKW. Courses, characters and modes lack variety and not enough items to cope with higher CCs. Last laps in 150 and above are just NPCs being told how to prevent you from getting golds. Nintendo did better with S2 game.

The more I play it, the more I hate it. The game is not compelling to play whatsoever since there's elements from older games that were either neutered or removed altogether, and the controls are tight and not interesting. Tricks are lame, gliding feels bad, half-pipes are broken, wheelies were removed, inside-drift bikes were massacred, etc. The character roster, while it's stacked and could be considered the best for what it has, it neglected so many for so long. Like, why did we have to wait until the Booster Course Pass to get Diddy Kong, Birdo, Petey Piranha, etc.? And not to mention the terrible additions to it. Baby Rosalina, Pink Gold Peach, and the non-Mario characters (Link, Isabelle, Villager & Inkling), just to name a few. The track selection is mediocre. 96 tracks, yet after doing a tier list of all of them, 55 are C-tier or lower, with 12 F-tier tracks. Truly the definition of quantity > quality. More than half the game's tracks being ranked low/average is embarrassing. What's even worse is that a lot of the game's tracks are demakes of fan-favorites. Koopa Cape, Coconut Mall, DK Mountain, etc. Items are also a mixed bag. Red shells were buffed, triple bananas and triple mushrooms orbit around you, the blooper makes the controls slippery, and the coin replaces the fake item box as a non-defensive item, but it's far worse. The new items are fine, though. What isn't fine however is item distribution. Distance-based item balancing is stupid. I shouldn't be getting bob-omb's in first. Other things I don't like are:
- Lakitu is way to stingy, making ultra shortcuts non-existent and driving backwards on the track impossible
- Assists (smart-steering & auto-accelerate)
- Way too streamlined for casuals
- Anti-gravity is purely a gimmick that barely changes anything
- No unlockables The only positive I have is 200cc. ONE positive in a game people will praise as the best Mario Kart, kart racer, or racing game in general. I never want to come back to it. It's my least favorite Mario Kart and I'll die on that hill. What a disgustingly overrated game.

I like the game for its visuals and controls. However, it's a waste of time because the player isn't really needed. The blue shell and really bad AI leads to random win. The last kart is slower than a snail. And one kart stands out as your rival, faster than the player can ever be. So the CPU isn't playing fair. I think it's a game only for babies who have no idea what's going on around them. The next Mario Kart (World) seems to be similar, as they didn't know what the player wanted. Yes, Mario Kart is successfully. But only because it's the very first game released on console and seems to be a nice party game. But it makes no fun as singleplayer. There is no story mode and your skill is punished with the blue shell.
