This game is perfectly fine as a solo game. Not every FPS in the world needs to be Co-Op.

A solid bug-free game that is fun to play and gorgeous to look at. It could have been so much more, but what we are ultimately left with is still a total blast.

The storyline may be a reworking of a stock plot, but somehow feels fresh against this background.

It doesn't rely on technical gimmicks. Instead, it delivers cathartic action and an absorbing story. [July 2003, p.114]

Between all the ship battles, alien spiders in dark caverns, and action-movie challenges, Mace Griffin delivers a good-looking and constantly engaging experience that is equal parts cinema, all-out combat, and skulk-and-kill infiltration.

A massive, fun, diverse, challening single-player shooter that requires you to use a bit of your brain as well as your brawn, and will keep you coming back for more. [Aug 2003, p.82]

A very satisfying single-player FPS, coated with a fat-free topping of space combat. The lack of secrets and multiplayer modes also means an utter lack of replay value, but I felt nothing but satisfaction at the rousing conclusion.

One thing that Mace Griffin has going for it is its graphics. The real-time lighting on weapons and animations are just awesome.

Despite being a rough composite of a half dozen other first-person shooters without much personality of its own, Mace Griffin Bounty Hunter is still pretty good.

While the AI isn’t horrible (at times it can be very challenging) you will find it funny to have a horde of enemies coming at you, all too timid to shoot... Mace has not only stood up to my expectations, but crushed them and left me very happy.
