Even after a year of extra time along with over 2 million dollars from grants and Kickstarter alone the developers are still not capable of making a game that could be considered worth the price tag. Maybe if it was half or a quarter of the price I'd somewhat consider it but as it stands now this game should be given a wide berth.

This game is great and works really nice as a break from dbd and other games from the genre. Yes it can be kinda buggy at some times and the peer 2 peer servers are not so great buuut if you're able to look past these small inconveniences unlike the crybabies here you can have a really fun time!

I could definitely recommend this game, it has been receiving a lot more attention since it has been on discord, with the steam release, it did have a rocky start for like the first 3 days but after that, I think the game is rock solid game play! It is super fun to play and even better with friends! They are super communicative towards there community, way better than before and they even listen to there communities opinions on stuff, compared to other games, this one is definitely sure to make the top charts if they continue with there work! And with the rise of chapter 2 and the teaser being released, this game will be a for sure keeper in my books!

I played this on discord and i had a huge blast,then now its on steam and its even better! Great progression system! Nice skins! The dev just did an amazing job and i can't thank them enough for this masterpiece!

Having owned the game since its original Discord launch. I can honestly say the Steam release is being handled much better than the game was a year ago. In the twelve days it's been out, we've gotten several patches addressing the current issues with the game such as performance and matchmaking, along with a teaser for the next chapter of the game. The development team is small, but seems committed to the game's future, at least for now.

A good game, there's no ranking system so it felt more like a casual game to play with friends rather than a game that needed to be played competitively. While it had a bumpy launch, this game seems to be on the right track right now. Definitely worth the price I paid for it, plus it's even better to play with friends with voice chat on.

BEST GAME EVER!!! I had on discord but due to me losing my discord account i lost the game, i didn't want to spend money on it again until i heard it came out on steam! I missed playing this game and I'm happy to see so many new things in the game. To the devs please keep up the epic and incredible work, cant wait to see what chapter 2 might have in store

A cross between Dead by Daylight & Left 4 Dead with a ton of personality. Last Year is the newest addition to the asymmetrical multiplayer genre and hot damn did it hit the ground running. Gameplay is fast paced, environments are well designed and there's a lot of room for strategy on both sides. Plus each character has a wide array of voice lines for the different situations they find themselves in during a match which adds a lot of charm to the game as well. Only thing this game is missing is a large playerbase, so if this kinda game piques your interest get in here and help with that!

I think this game is pretty good so far. There is different object to get depending which map you are on. I like the character creations, they are very creative and interesting, but all I can complain about is the hosts. If the killer gets killed or doesn't get a kill, they throw a fit and DC. This makes me pretty angry, because i do not get anything in return. They need to make it where if the host DC, the players should still get their reward. How do you expect me to get these costumes, players like them DC and take away the other player's fun? I had 5 DCs in a row under an hour when i just bought the game. If they can fix this, this will make me happy. I can also recommend a mode or something to help new players what to do. I understand the game wants us to figure out what to do, but it would be nice to explain like the level up progress or how to play game. I believe this game has potential to become even better. I have a lot of videos about this game and this what got me interested. I just played an hour and already had some opinions about this game. This game is overall fun and worth to play with a friend or by yourself.

This is an amazing co-op + pvp horror experience, worth the money! I was a discord player, I supported the game from the very start, and the game died after a few weeks after first release as the devs went silent and no updates were seen, but then a year later suddenly they speak up again and talk about how a major update is coming and steam release. The game has changed a lot, and for the better. Now updates are coming out constantly and the devs promised to never go silent again. This game has seen major development since launch and I have high respect for the devs due to their continuous work.

"Last Year" is a simple yet very intriguing game, with it's style like dbd and f13, but its gameplay is very unique. There a couple of bugs, like very few, and game isn't great for new players, BUT more and more people are playing this game which means there are TONS of videos online on how to play the game, plus the devs are updating the game CONSTANTLY so the bug count is lessening. The game is ONLY £15 which means most people can easily afford it.

Оптимизация, баланс, интересный и оригинальный геймплэй, адекватная система подбора союзников и соперников, хотя бы какая то обучалка, перевод на русский язык - ничего из этого тут нет. Рукожoпaм-недоразработчикам не хватило целого года для того чтобы довести свою сырую поделку до ума, и в результате они просто обоcpaлись (причём уже второй раз подряд). Вообще непонятно на кой чёрт нужно было тащить это убожество в Стим - лучше бы она так и продолжала гнить в Дискорде (там ей самое место). Хотя нет, на самом деле всё вполне очевидно - просто кое-кому опять лёгких денег захотелось. Подобная дрянь должна быть снабжена соответствующей пометкой (точнее клеймом), а именно должно быть указано что данный полуфабрикат является "игрой" в раннем доступе, а не полноценным продуктом (ведь в данный момент это Early Access в чистом виде). Никому не советую покупать этот никчёмный выcep криворуких макак, потому что никакого удовольствия от постоянного лагодрома вы не получите (а за мана вам вообще поиграть не дадут, и вы будете целый час торчать в лобби, пока не заснёте). Даже DBD не вызывает у меня такого стойкого чувства омерзения как вот эта отвратная блевотина. Я очень жалею что не запросил вовремя возврат средств потраченных на этот кал. P.S. А мошенникам которые сваяли это дepьмо будучи в состоянии наркотического опьянения, я от всей души желаю обанкротиться, да побыстрее, поскольку такие дауничи (и творческие импотенты в придачу) должны улицы подметать, а не делать игры.

Да добавте ботов в игру Хотел сыграть за маньяка,прождал 40 минут в очереди, 30-м не на одного не уменьшилась,невыдержал и вышел

Я провел в игре чуть больше двух часов. За эти два часа в прайм-тайм я не нашёл ни одной игры. Я пробовал сменить сервер загрузки, пробовал просто ждать, пробовал пересоздавать лобби, но исход один - я не смог отыграть на маньяке НИ ОДНОЙ игры за потраченные мною два часа. Хорошая ли это игра? Может быть. Стоит ли её покупать и играть? Однозначно нет. Возможно, через полгода-год игра либо сформирует крепкий костяк игроков, и матчи можно будет найти - либо она умрёт окончательно. UPD. Спустя 2.5 часа поиска нашёл игру. Пятнадцать минут смотрел на загрузочный экран в игру. Не загрузило. Спасибо.

Все пишут о том что поиск занимает много времени? Потому что все играют за маньяков, попробуйте повыживать за собственно выживающих и поиск игры займёт не более 2 минут. Б - баланс, если выживающие не сидят в каком то войс чате, убежать шанс примерно 0 процентов. Описание предметов, скиллов вы должны искать на сторонних ресурсах, почему бы и нет. Количество опций в меню ограничено " право лево низ верх" и всё, если вы хотели настроить ,скажем, плавность мыши, зачем? В этой игре разве главное удобство управления? Можно резонно возразить " играй за маньяка и будет тебе счастье!" Игра, где играбельная только одна сторона или один класс, должна быть либо хорошо забалансирована, либо не просить деньги.

Итак, начну с того, что скажу о том, что одного часа в этой игре было достаточно, чтобы сделать выводы, все равно в таких играх постоянно одно и то же, да. Онлайн: К сожалению, это игра оказалась мертвой сразу же после релиза, из этого столь маленького времени, что я провел в игре, четверть его я просидел в лобби, ожидая, когда лобби наконец заполнится, и начнется матч. К слову, я сыграл четыре игры, в двух из которых моя команда сурвов была не в полном составе (3-4 человека из 5). Возможно, игра была бы более бодрой, матчи проходили бы быстрее и интересней, будь онлайн хоть немного повыше, но столь низким он оказался не без причин, их очень много Но, стоит признать тот факт, что лобби может заполниться довольно быстро, даже меньше чем успеет пройти хотя бы минута, это уж если повезет, но я поставлю за это плюс, лол 3/10 Графика: Она оставляет желать лучшего, текстуры выглядят отвратительно, тени, эффекты, освещение и гамма в игре не придают ей никакой атмосферы, каковой она должна быть. Местами бывают прогрузки текстур, и я далеко не один, кому довелось с этим столкнуться. В общем, я не знаю, что еще сказать насчет графики в этой игре, просто знайте - это ужасно. 2/10 Геймплей: Что же я могу рассказать о нем? Он увлекательный? Он интересный? Из-за него в этой игре захочется провести уйму времени несмотря на остальные недостатки этой игры? Хех, нет, это вовсе не так, геймплей, к сожалению сам является крупным недостатком этой игры. Задумка разделить всех игроков по классам... она интересная, определенно, но в этой игре она выполнена худшим образом, из-за чего геймплей становится менее привлекательным. Медик, который если не захочет, то не будет хилить никого из команды и так далее. А все почему? Потому что игра практически никак не вознаграждает игрока за какие-либо полезные действия, если ты и будешь делать что-то полезное, ты все равно получишь мизерную награду, не стоившую всех твоих усилий, которые ты приложил в игре. В игре также есть место нашему старому другу - кемпенгу. Находятся такие сурвы, которые предпочтут отсидеться за каким-нибудь шкафчиком, или чем-нибудь еще, в ожидании... в ожидании того, когда вся остальная команда сделает всю необходимую работу, и он спокойно добежит к выходу, или же если команда погибнет, он просто предпочтет отсидеться до конца таймера, или же ливнуть.

Last Year это хороший пример того почему игры лучше выпускать в Steam (или в GOG) Я ждал эту игру в Steam целый год и вот игра наконец-то вышла вышла и что же увидел? Игра тормозит, пинг под 100 это нормально, за выживших играть нереально, игра за маньяка не находится от слова совсем. Я пока обзор пишу игра на фоне ищется. Игра в состоянии идеи выглядит интересно: группа студентов разрабатывают план по спасению из локации аки Pay Day 2 и спасаются от убийцы. От сюда следует, что сравнить с Dead by Daylight уже глупо. игра напоминает больше Left 4 Dead. Хотя бы тем, что, если выжившего убили, то он появится в закрытой комнате, которую может открыть другой живой тиммейт, во время игры убийца может меняться, что убийца может телепортироваться, когда его никто не видит. последнее меня, как человека, которые наиграл пару сотен часов в Dead by Daylight просто выводит из себя так как пропадает майдгеймс. Радиуса террора тоже нет, то есть любая встреча с убийцей будет для вас всегда сюрпризом. И всегда неприятным, потому что скорее всего вы ему ничего не сделаете если у вас под рукой не будет трубы, на голове шлема, а рядом хотя бы один тиммейт. Дизайн локации это отдельная тема. Условно проход к двери ведет под землю лестница куда нужно идти. других путей нет. Убийца просто разбрасывает ловушки в ряд и пока вы будет их ломать, то вас будут ждать сами знаете кто :) И знаете, что ещё бесит? Если вы играете за выжевшего, то из 6 студентов в игре будет дай бог четверо, а если вы таки дожили до поиска матча за маньяка, то вас кинут к команде из 6 человек, у которых будут и фонарики, и ружья и фиг вы им что сделаете ибо по одному не ходит никто. Ещё раздражает местная "кровавая паутина", которая прокачивается, ну очень неохотно, а некоторые предметы требуют выполнения некоторых условий в игре. Типа "сбегите всей командой ни разу не умерев". Интересно, но в Dead by Daylight было куда интереснее придумано. Если бы игра была релизнута в Steam у разработчиков было бы больше возможностей развить игру за счет форумов и отзывов. В итоге в игре баланса нет, оптимизации тоже. За год была добавлена аж 1 карта и маньяк паук. Ну офигеть работа какая проделана. Спасибо.

Ждал 40 минут, чтобы поиграть за убийцу в итоге так никто и не подключился.

Баланс остался нулевым. Анимации кривые. Оптимизация нулевая. Добавили убийцу, пару вещичек, скины, паутинку скиллов и кинули в стим. Ничего с момента дискорда, увы, не изменилось. Игра для фана по типу пятницы 13 (и то, пятница с её читерами и без контента получше будет) - может быть. Самый лучший вариант - играйте в дбд. То, что её сейчас стримят все дбд ютуберы - обычные засланные деньги. Не ведитесь. А ведь все орали, что вот он - убийца дбд. Эх...

Слишком сырая, 5:4 ростягивает картинку и обрезает лучше бы полосы были , за маньяка очень долго ищет игру

Last Year is a wonderful experience. Basicly you are 5 teenagers trapped in an arena against a killer whos job is to kill you all before you get the objectives done and escape. Its similar to Dead by Daylight but instead of looping to survive you can work as a team, fight back and actually kill the killer! The developers work very hard to keep the game updated and the player base happy. Its worth your money and time, highly recommended for anyone who is a fan of horror and multiplayer gaming.

A great game where you can actual kill the killer and teamwork really is the dream work! You can't 1vs1 the killer unless he super low health and things get intense sometimes! Escape or die trying.

The game is fun to play, especially with some friends. It does have a few bugs here and there but so far over 20 hours in, none have made it unplayable. Many of the negative reviews are "review bombers", that are just mad since it came out on discord. The devs are showing their intentions now and actually giving us info that shows they want to make this go far. The game needs dedicated players that can stick around from year 1 into the years to come. Give it a try, just recommend playing survivor atm till more players, or you will have a bit of a queue time for killer(low players).. Don't be discouraged if you die fast, once you get some good skill unlocks, you can easily turn the game in your favor. And unlike other games in the genre, dying doesn't take you out of the game fully, just give us some time to kill the giant spider between us and your new closet home :)

I played this game back when it was on discord and I am going to voice my opinion. This game is the best it has ever been so far which makes me happy because I love this game playing both the killer and classmates and the high octane gameplay that comes from both sides. I also see some people saying that the game is way too unbalanced and to a certain extent they are right but honestly it is not that bad as being someone who has played on both sides I can say that the outcome of a match can go three ways. 1: The killer will dominate and stop your team from gaining the momentum they need to win. 2: The classmates know how to communicate and be great team players and they dominate the killer because they got momentum and the killer cannot stop them. 3: It will basically be a tug of war like match where both sides shine which ends in the killer getting 2 or more kills most of the time. I will admit that there are some flaws with this game like some bugs and balancing (as mentioned earlier) but the devs have been putting up a lot of updates for the game and as long as they care and keep updating the game to fix the problems it has now, I personally think this game will become something that can compete with a game like Dead by Daylight

I played this on discord before, but the game was just lacking a progression system and a customization system. However, now that it launched on steam, the game has been reworked and is so much fun (strangler is OP). Anyways it has changed a lot since discord, and most of the negative reviews are complaining about things that have been fixed, so don't judge it on this.

Way better than DbD. Matchmaking issues still need worked on, as of the date this was posted. Other than that, the game is super enjoyable and the furthest thing from toxic.

Game is alot of fun, very well executed. The only thing I'd recommend is to take the VOIP feature and extend it to all players, including the killer. SO many horror films have the killer speaking to and taunting the victims, so it only makes sense to add it here!

This game has improved alot siince the release on discord and they have already realeased a new trailer for chapter 3 in a good amount of time after the releasde of chapter one. Its a fun scary at times game where the only way to win is to work together to complete the objective which are unique to each map unlike dbd or Friday the 13th the game it has maintained a good a,mount of playters and I would expect it to stay that way if chapters realease every 3 months or so.

It is a great take on the asymmetrical survival genre, with survivors who can actually pack a punch and make the killer become the killed. O jogo tem visivelmente alguns problemas de lançamento, mas isso não tira o mérito que o jogo está realmente com ótimos gráficos e melhores do que qualquer outro jogo do mesmo estilo (Terror Co-oop). Vemos que os personagens são bem construídos faltando apenas uma historia de cada um, mas todos tem personalidades fortes e bastante carismáticos. Por fim, o game tem tudo para ser um diferencial dos últimos tempo, vendo que não tem lançado nenhum outro melhor ou famoso. Dou meu voto de confiança na desenvolvedora pois a cada Patch eles estão arrumando os bugs e erros como o MATCH, tempo de espera por partida, a comunidade BR está aumentando e diversas outras cosas.

One of the biggest disappointments I have ever felt in a video game. An obvious cash grab.. Base game mechanics are still a core problem, even after 5 years since their original KickStarter and 1 year after their failed Discord launch. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. It is a pile of trash.

They somehow managed to launch a worse game then they did last year. They spent time on making skins and a skilltree instead of actually making the game better. it's just all around worse this time.

Trash tier optimization, dumb skill tree straight stolen from DbD, keeps on crashing, I wish I could get a refund even though I was given a key for it KEKW

I played about 4 matches and they were all pretty fun. Scary game that feels balanced if a bit hectic. If you can get a 5 more friends or how many it is that is needed to play, you'll have fun with it. If you can't, good luck finding a game. Also, a bit of a shame the game doesn't let you randomize who gets to be the killer so you have to start a new lobby each time you want to change killer.

Game is very fun and has a lot of potential to it. Unfortunately the games balance just feels very off and not very fun in its current state. Unless you play in a coordinated team, survivor does not feel very fun to play and gets frustrating fast because of how fast games can end. There are bugs and performance issues that also plague both killer and survivor alongside lobby issues with players not being sent into the games properly. I am hoping that the developers will fix a lot of these issues in the coming weeks/months because I love the idea and gameplay behind this game, I just find it too frustrating at the moment to enjoy past 1-2 games.

Player base is small so que times are trash. Youll get matched with almost the same people. As a new player to the game I constantly kept getting thrown into matches with already skilled killers which didn't even give me a chance to get a feel for the game. Not to mention how the game also runs like trash as when I'm going against the spider all it takes is for him to use his projectile and my frames are down below 30 (My pc can run red dead redemption 2) so its crazy how bad this game feels. No communication at all in the game sometimes it works apparently to everyone on reddit but for me it hasnt worked once and ive made sure to enable the settings. The last point that very much turned me off from the game is the P2P connection as the killers internet is whats hosting the match. More times then not im playing with over 200 ping and seeing my teammates run into walls as the also teleport everywhere. I would say wait to purchase the game until it gets better but from what ive heard about the game from the past that could be eternity. Game looks like its player base will die out before there will be a good quality of life update. I'm requesting a refund would like to make it clear that people should do research on the game before considering a purchase.

So the game runs like garbage. as both survivor and killer it just ran horribly. Theres zero Tutorial or instructions really. its another one of those games you get to go in blind, and just get completely stomped by people who know the game and maps. Also have fun with the 30 minute wait time if your gunna try to play a killer. I really wanted this game. I couldnt wait to get my hands on it. here i m 60 minutes in, asking for a refund. Maybe in the future if it gets better optimization ill give it another go. Sadly I have a feeling the player basis will drop off soon and this might get abandoned, cuz it doesnt feel like theres many people playing it currently, andm ost the reviews are bad.

I'm generally all for "unbalanced" games where the killer is overpowered because at some points, it makes sense. However, this game is so killer-sided it's not even worth playing if you're not a killer. The killers have the opportunity to teleport, set traps, have poisonous gas that inverts your controls and impairs your vision. These traps are triggered when searching for scrap which is pretty much the only way you can even defend yourself from the killer later on in the game. In addition to those perks the killers get, survivors get absolutely nothing besides "spells" in which buff you, but also debuff you. And that doesn't even include the killer's kits which can absolutely abuse the trapping feature. A good example of this is the strangler, who can snatch you and pull you right to his feet where he has set a trap. It would make sense for killers to step in their own traps but they are apparently weightless. Another key issue is that the killer can just spawn out of the game when he goes into their killing animation. This makes it so you are hitting a player that is visible, yet invincible. Playing survivor on this game seems like you are just feeding egos for random people online. There is no learning curve to this game, you just go to the objective and hold F. Other than that, the only way to survive is to run, and that's basically it. I was so beyond excited to play this game over the past year but my disappointment is immeasurable and my day continues to be ruined.

Bought this game after a streamer played it. Looked very good so instantly bought the game with 2 friends before reading any other reviews. Me and my friends spent longer then 30mins to get into the same lobby. It kept searching for a server and after a while only 1 or 2 of us got put in a game lobby, while the other was still in the party menu. After finally being in the same game lobby as my friends we hopped in the game to get absolutely molested within 3 minutes. After that game it kicked us out of our party and we had to search for a new lobby, but again getting the same problems. Highly recommend you not buying this game at the time of me writing this review, maybe after the developers get a couple patches out and fix this matchmaking issue.

DO NOT BUY: The if your from dbd looking for a game where the killer is actually somewhat powerful look elsewhere, The game is just like dbd in how the students have 2nd chance addons with no restrictions on them, I knock you down, too bad for me you have a spell to have you instantly get back up, another thing its impossible to break a crowd in this game cause they will jump you, I know you may say theres a new killer for that but thats design each killer should be able to break a crowd, but non of them execpt for the spider can, Plus the devs are shady, Dont buy at full price.

Don't waste your time for nothing, always have a connection problem and there is no player
