A cynical package that doesn't do the Star Wars franchise any justice whatsoever. [Issue#85, p.92]
Kinect Star Wars is a double edged sword. On one side, using the force with the Kinect sensor is immensely satisfying. On the other side, Kinect is just what is holding this game back. All in all, it's just another shallow and lacking tech demo from Microsofts admittingly impressive motion sensor.
The Pod races offer a great feeling but there are bad animations and awful controls. The german synchronization is also very bad. Nothing more but a minigame collection.

If you pick this up in 2023 it's absolutely worth it for the galactic dance off mode alone, the rest of the game is unfortunately mediocre

I really liked it as a game for Kinect, especially the storyline, yes, the plot is simple, but it is well suited for Kinect, each session was like going to the gym, the missions in space were very epic, the game gave me emotions, there were a few additional missions worse, I liked the racing, there are cut scenes, the other modes are like dancing, duels, smashing a building for a rancor, they are one time, but I will repeat, like a game for kinect that delivers so many emotions, probably not, unless you take some kind of just dance .

To anyone expecting a poor dance game: yes there is dancing, it resembles Dance Central and the reason for it being in the game is explained by C-3PO as a corrupted file in the Jedi Archives. If that makes you cringe and abandon the game, then you will miss out on a great Pod Racer, a fun dancing game, a well made jedi campaign and other mini games using the Star Wars license respectfully. Recommended for all ages.

True to the Star Wars universe, well-finished and almost always fun. Less control of the sword in this game everything works fine. The whole family can meet C-3PO and run or dance with the most famous and new characters. It isn't the best Kinect game but it works. It's very easy.

Seeing Han Solo swinging his ass to his own song is something you did not asked for. And we probably do not deserve this masterpiece, but here it is. Reuniting the bois, spreading love and happiness. These **** reviews saying it's not a good game aren't wrong tho. You wouldn't call the Mona Lisa a great game either, but art.

We thought that Star Wars Kinect would be the best Kinect game ever since we saw it at E3 2010, but it is just slightly more than a casual game using the Microsoft's camera. Big deception.

Kinect Star Wars is a rich Kinect title flawed by poor dialog, control issues and forgettable extra modes. Anyway kids will likely enjoy pods and dancing sessions while fans will be attracted by the chanche to wield a light saber.

Kinect Star Wars is the classic title that had great potential but is poorly developed.

You never truly get the sense of being a pro podracer, a vicious monster, or a mighty Jedi, leaving you all-too-aware that you're just playing a videogame…and a mediocre one at that.

While the feel of Star Wars is certainly present, helped largely by the Podracing, the developers dropped a huge ball when it comes to being a Jedi.

Well I think the issue here is how many good Star Wars games have come out ahead of this and how poorly inspired this one is compared to them. Let's face it Star Wars is the perfect game for motion controls. The inspirational issue here is timing. It's clear Microsoft is trying to fend off the success of Nintendo and has decided to pretty much blatantly copy their success. As we can see by the review scores players like the console feel they have chosen. People who own xbox and ps3 consoles want mature and hardcore games, not this kind of presentation and choppy family/kid friendly mish mashes. So that is the issue with this game. It's kiddy, it's disjointed into multiple games and it has typical tech demo stuff within it no one wants to play, like dance offs. This is a disaster trying to change your player base mentality. I'd say typical Wii players may enjoy this title but it's unlikely it was worth the gamble trying to lure ps3 and true xbox gamers into something like this. This game is not good enough for Wii owners to abandon that system and buy an xbox. Meanwhile xbox 360 gamers are like, where's the next generation mature game I want?? As for the gameplay it's decent enough as from what I've played on kinect so far I'd probable rank this as one of the better ones it was just not delivered to match the typical 360 console owners expectations. The turorials seemed fine and the game seemed to work as it should with no calibration problems. That said, it is by no means epic or must own by anyone's standards. I'd still take some Wii motion control games ahead of this and I don't enjoy the Wii all that much. So the games not bad it's just not on the system it should be.

I have many reasons why this is one of the worst star wars games ever made. The sensor can never see your movement, the story is no story, the game modes besides that are terrible. The graphics are not too bad, but could have been way better. I just cannot recommend this game for any star wars fan.

When I first heard that a Star Wars game was coming out for the Kinect, I was so excited! Swinging your lightsabers around, playing missions from the movies, etc. I couldn't wait for this game to come out. I had high hopes for this game and what I played was nothing short than disappointing. A mini-campaign that is more forgettable than the plot from the prequels? A Rancor mode? A DANCE MODE??!! What is this s**t!! this ain't the Star Wars game I was expecting! I can live with these modes, however the most disappointing thing in the game is the lightsaber movement. I hate it when you have to control the lightsaber that the game wants you to swing it. I expected to swing my lightsaber around in any motion I want and have no issues whatsoever. The figure 8 you have to do to defend yourself from incoming droids, and "boss battles" is so boring and tedious. It ****. Even though I do not like the game modes that Lucasarts, and Terminal Reality chose, it still manages to be fun, entertaining, and gives you a good exercise. The modes are fun, but it was not what I expected from a Star Wars game.
