Ultimately, I found that Karate Survivor scratched the right itch for me, even if it took a while to get there. I wish some of the mechanics were unlocked sooner so the first runs didn’t feel so bland, but it definitely remains a recommendation for those who don’t mind putting in a couple of hours to get to the good stuff.

It’s the kind of game you’ll forget as soon as you hit the “quit” button. If you’re looking for a fun, engaging roguelike, look elsewhere. This one is nothing but a cash grab in martial arts clothing. It’s a swing and a miss, and it’s best left ignored.

I don't understand the low ratings. This is a very good VS style game, and it implements its theme very good. The only thing preventing it for me to give it a 10 is its lack of more levels. A bit of lore would have been nice. Otherwise, flawless gameplay. Played on Mac.

Не розумію людей, яким ця гра сподобалась. Так, на трейлерах виглядає круто, ідея ориг інальна, в стилі бойовиків з Джекі Чаном, але грається вона дуже незручно та криво. Arena survive, де всі скіли мають настільки короткий радіус, що вам буквально потрібно стояти впритул до противників, які пруть вагонами, а перезарядка така довга, що ви більше часу стоїте ніж атакуєте. Цього уже джостатньо, але розробники ще й зробили так, що всі скіли майже нічим не відрізняються крім цифер та анімації. Компанія Алавар, що здивували своєю живучістю на ринку, профукали круту ідею відсутністю нормального геймдизайну. Вони явно не розуміють жанр.

A great game. For all fans of horde games and vampires survivor. All in all good gameplay, nice 80s aesthetic and nice soundtrack.

As a fan of Jackie Chan films and a newcomer to survivor style game, I found this game to be thoroughly enjoyable. The music fits very well with the action. The environment encourages you to explore the map. It is a great value. I cannot wait to play the game through on harder difficulties once I beat it.
