I first got this game 5 years ago, just bought it again today to see how it holds up now. Man, I gotta say it looks fantastic for a 2D/3D game especially considering the game size. While I don't think it's an amazing game, it is one you should consider picking up if you want a good platformer game.

Another woefully short platformer gracing 3DS's e-Shop, Jett Rocket II delivers a somewhat tight package that can definitely entertain fans of the genre. Its main problem is that it relies too much on tried-and-true concepts and as a result fails to be memorable. The game features three worlds, each featuring stages that tend to be just long enough to entertain while being a good option for quick gameplay bursts. A good number of them are well-designed, mixing 2D and 3D platforming with challenging sections and cleverly hidden collectibles. Boss battles are fun enough, and so are the many minigames scattered through and between the stages. A noticeable problem is how slowly the main character moves, though, which is especially annoying when you have to backtrack a stage to find secrets you missed. It's gonna be pretty hard to hate Jett Rocket II, as it's a by-the-numbers experience with great graphics and okay gameplay. It's also gonna be hard to love it, however. The main character lacks any real charisma, and the robotic enemies friends tend to blend in pretty quickly. The game's collectibles are pictures of characters, which would be much more exciting if the characters had more personality. None of the gameplay sequences are exactly memorable either, which meant I was never really eager to resume playing the game. Truth is, serviceable as it may be, Jett Rocket II adds up to a supremely ho-hum experience. It's one of those games that are destined to fade into the back of your gaming memory in a few months' time. If you're on the market for quick and inoffensive portable platformers, it may be worth a download. Just don't go in expecting something unforgettable. Rating: 6.5
