There is fun to be found in here ,but it's hidden underneath the Atari Jaguar level of graphics. The gameplay is a simple 7 days to die clone(which itself wasn't very good): Gather materials, explore the open world(it's kinda small in this game but ok), struggle to survive etc. As a 2$ game- It's okay. As a game overall-it's kinda bad

Game pretty much does everything it can for being a 3DS title, it released exclusively on the Eshop and many would say it was bad Graphically but for an open world multiplayer Nintendo 3DS game the graphics are passable. The game gets really fun in Multiplayer you can play with up to 8 other players, have huge gun fights, mess around, explore the large open world or fight the zombies that infest the games world. Overall for a Indie 3DS game that tries to do so much with so little its a fantastic game that I got countless hours of fun from. But looking back and comparing it to the remake on Nintendo Switch I'd take the remake over the original anyway, but I would always recommend playing the original before the remake for a newer player!

Ice station Z is the best multiplayer FPS in Nintendo 3DS, graphics good, nice online multiplayer, it is fun and enjoyable

Yes, this game has a ton of jank, but it also has a ton of heart. Very excited for the New switch release. Both are very cheap, just give it a shot.

The game has flaws. But the community will defend this game to death. No matter what critic reviews this game. Nobody can say that it is "not" fun. The online play from people is great, has no disconnects, and includes different in-game chatting media, (Like texting, and VC). Now don't get me wrong the community has died down over 2020, and 2021. But their are still roughly 30 - 40 people online daily. Now for an indie game that topped charts in Japan, along with BMZ (BattlerminerZ). With about 2000 copies *Ice Station Z sold in Japan alone, That is some great sales, and thats not including, Korean, North America, & Europe sold games as well. The game has its down sides though, in 2020 and this year, Their have been alot of hackers. (I make plugins and cheats for the game, I should know). The games downsides come with poor graphics, But from what I can gather the game was planned in 1998 for an unknown platform. So it isn't that bad, and besides it reminds people of N64 and PSX graphics. Gameplay is long and boring if you don't know where everyone goes to. (Normally Graybase *Centre of the map, or the Oil Rig *Off of the main map). Walking is a pain in game, crawling is worse though. The real bummer is the lack of locations and a larger map. But as I've said before, The game was made with 248mb of game memory in mind. Ice Station Z brought with a a cult following for Wobbly Tooth Ltd. (The developer) The game is still fun in most cases, And the online play is above anything Nintendo brought us in 2016, The game is only active at certain times in 2021 (8am - 11am eastern USA time, 5pm - 6:30pm eastern USA time & 10pm - 2:30am eastern USA time), But the lack of locations, confusing community of players, and the slow walk speed, give the game a 7/10 rating.

ISZ means a lot to me, I've spent way too many hours in this game then I would like to admit, and have met many friends through this game. The game is unlike anything else on the Nintendo 3ds, being somewhat of a "Day Z clone" with full online multiplayer and voice chat. The graphics are very basic but aren't ugly in a way that it could be a turn off for gamers. Sound design is very nice and the elements challenge your skill as you try to survive. However singleplayer is very unfair and unbalanced, with items spawning incredibly far away from each other, and a slow pace. The real fun lies in the multiplayer, which features great chatting mechanics, vehicles to ride on or fly with, and excellent gunplay. For it's 4$ price tag, I highly recommend it, even if I am a bit late with this review.

Ice Station Z is one of the best games I have ever played. I got it as a joke as it was basically free ($4), but then when I first played it the experience was absolutely unreal! There are one or two flaws that really wouldn't change much, like, you can go through trees, the zombies can outrun you. But really, that's pretty much it! I then recommended this game to friends, then this reminded me so much of minecraft. You can use voice chat unlike many other games. The only other game I can think of that you can use voice chat on is Pokemon. I like how you can only see others nametags when you wave to them. Really recommend this game.

I bought this game a long time ago. There is a lot of flaws to this game. The single-player is repetitive and the graphics aren't the best. What shines is the multiplayer. This is one of the only games to have online voice chat on the 3DS and playing with a friend is way better than by yourself. There are some issues with this game. But for $4.00 this is worth a look.

I have mixed feelings about this, bought it yesterday. After a few times played, it was getting repetitive. I am a fan of the polygon avatars, but the "Zombies" movement animation was a little stiff, plus there was no real challenge after 20 minutes of tinkering, at first, it was live, get col sht, die, live get cool sht, die, ect. But now, I am not dying ever, multiplayer is awesome, just wish for some better single player, if they would add some bigger harder zombies or some raiders, that'd be cool. 7/10

I feel it is necessary to give this game an 8/10. Initially the game was flawed but the latest update added a fair amount of new things. This game has immense potential and there is not a single issue that could not be fixed by an update. The lower quality graphics allow for a larger world with a steady frame rate. There are not any games available on the system that are similar to this game either. Being that this is true, there isn't anything it can be compared to. This game should be happily welcomed to the system. It is also one of the cheapest games available on the eshop that also includes online multiplayer.

This game called my attention for being an "open world" where some kind of creation for objects is performed. The graphics are ugly considering that it is combined with a horrible gameplay. The stage itself is not extensive but, buuuuuuuuuuut god, Where are the buildings? Does not it give more? The character runs too slow, in addition to that there are not many buildings. If they did this with unity maybe it would give something similar to the game survival that is in facebook but neither that, to this game I call Ice station Zzzzzz because literally puts you to sleep. It is worth mentioning that the game sometimes freezes, I give 0 of 0 to this "game", empty scenarios, poor without details, ugly gameplay, no variety of objects, etc. Horrible

Critics, I don't think giving Ice Station Z a 3/10 is fair. Yes, the game isn't great, but I still have had a lot of fun with it, especially playing online with other players and with my brother. I bought this game off the e-shop yesterday and have already sunk over 7 hours into the game. Like I said, there are MANY changes and additions that should added to this game, but I would say if you enjoy open world survival games its worth checking out! I do hope the developer will update Ice Station Z in the future though. In favor of Ice Station Z, i'm giving it a 7/10.

Dear developers. If you are reading this, here is an easy way to make this game a lot better. Add more things. Too much of emptyness. Most of the time was spend running around. Also add ability to disable following camera and make it fully controllable. This game has an amazing atmosfear, makes you feel weak against zombies, you never feel safe, but it's not fun begause most of the map is empty. If you do that, this review is going to go up.

Ice Station Z is a fun game to play. It has online multiplayer, voice chat, Zombies and some issues. The game starts you off with nothing but a backpack and some clothes. You gain items and weapons while searching and surviving the frozen landscape. It can be tedious at times running from place to place and crawling is terribly slow. The items you collect can increase your armor, such as new jackets and pants. There are a variety of weapons on the map including tranquilizer guns, shotguns and hand guns. Also you have to stay on top of your food intake as well. You will find random food items on the map to use. There is also a metal detector to help you find rare items such as engine parts. There are some vehicles like helicopters and snowmobiles to use if you find fuel or engine parts to repair the helicopter. This makes travel around the map much easier. The online is quite fun if you have a group of friends to play with. Voice chat works amazingly well. I feel the game needs more places to explore and some more items on the map and this game will be great. I hope it gets updated soon. You really cant beat the price tag, so im not complaining. You get online multiplayer with voice chat, a huge world to explore and lots of zombies that come out of nowhere in a challenging world full of hours of game play and fun with friends.

Ice Station Z is essentially Day Z meets the Long Dark for the 3ds that is $4. The graphics are bad, the gameplay can be choppy, but it is a lot of fun. The game is a zombie survival game set in a snowy landscape. The single player is okay due to your only objective to find a place to stay, get weapons, stat alive, repeat. The real fun is in the multiplayer where you can voice chat or text chat with other players. You can work together to survive or make it a death match. Overall I would highly recommend this game due to the fun multiplayer and the fact that there is nothing else like it on the 3ds.
