A heartbreaking look into the shackles of tradition and their harms of the future generation, a testament to friendship, and a reminder of the necessity of forgiveness. Bogged down by some of the same pacing issues from Onikakushi, but with a more substantive story.

the second chapter of higurashi when they cry which is titled watanagashi, continues the story by introducing new characters such as shion, and delves into others, while the first chapter focused a lot on di rena, this chapter focuses much more on the sonozaki sisters . This is also an excellent chapter with a structure very similar to the first, with which events begin to degenerate after the festival and the basic mystery thickens more and more, and the player finds himself with more questions than answers.
