Amid so many quick cash-ins that prey on nostalgia, this is a remaster done right. Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered is a fantastic modernisation that completely overhauls the visuals of the original game while adding smart new features and quality of life improvements, making it just as fun and enthralling as it was a quarter of a century ago.

Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered is old yet new—a trip down memory lane that’s pure nostalgia from the moment the game starts. It’s a title that never tries to be anything other than what it is, staying true to the essence that made the musou genre popular worldwide.

7.5 Good Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered is a faithful revival that preserves the slower, weightier combat, campy English voice acting, repeated campaigns, and split-screen chaos that defined the original. Its Unreal Engine 5 makeover and modest gameplay additions improve the experience without sanding away its old-school identity, though dated AI, repetition, and occasional technical issues may make it a tougher sell for newer Musou fans.

Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered is the first remaster of the Dynasty Warriors series from Koei Tecmo and Omega Force, and hopefully not the last. While musou games aren’t a groundbreaking genre in 2026, it’s fun to just hack and slash at cannon fodder as you try your best to complete the objective (usually to win). Though, it’s disappointing to see not many updates regarding accessibility features. Regardless, while the formula isn’t new, it’s great for those nostalgic fans and newcomers to the series.

Huge, often empty battlefields are still a chore to traverse, and mowing down hundreds of foes with the same three combos over and over again can be a big ask here in 2026. Still, with so many character stories, unlocks, and game modes to chew on, Remastered earns an easy recommendation if you're a Dynasty Warriors diehard — and I certainly wouldn't be against Koei Tecmo reviving the likes of Dynasty Warriors 4 and 5 in this style.

Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered brings the 25 year old classic hack-and-slash title back to life. Fresh lighting and overhauled visuals sparkle, while modern combat elements elevate the slicing and dicing nicely. While there's plenty to cut your teeth on here, the old frustrations with stun-locking enemies, less interesting mission designs and getting crossbow mobbed irk sooner than they should. At least the dialogue is absolutely hilarious and the series' charm remains fully intact.

Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered achieves its goal of breathing new life into a classic Dynasty Warriors experience, but with no changes to the gameplay, it soon begins to feel too basic and repetitive.
