Dune Awakening is far from revolutionary, but it raises the quality bar for many other survival MMOs out there thanks to its polished animations, unique spins on combat which sucks but definitely not as much as it could, and of course it's universe and the way it's ever presented to the player. I also enjoyed its progression throughout, with several clearly defined steps teaching different lessons in your journey. Its only big red flag at launch is a really bad endgame content that should get addressed as patches come. [Recommended]

Dune: Awakening offers an extremely solid survival experience that, while it takes time to show its best features, manages to position itself as one of the best In the genre.

Dune:Awakening does a phenomenal job of making Arrakis come to life, from the oppressing heat and sand as far as the eye can see, to the terrifying encounters with Shai Halud. Once you get your feet under you, the game has dozens of hours of exploration and content to work through, making it a very enjoyable experience. The combat leaves a lot to be desired, but classes, weapons, and gadgets feel fun. Took some points off for lack of housing decoration options and mods, and for the lack of real end game content. Would love to see raids, or overworld bosses, and better boss encounters in Testing Stations. Over all Dune:Awakening is a unique and fun experience that will suck you in right away.

Dune: Awakening has incredible potential. The atmosphere of Arrakis, the survival elements and the large-scale multiplayer systems create moments that can feel truly special. When the game works, it captures the spirit of the Dune universe in a way very few games manage to do.Unfortunately, the experience is often overshadowed by how the game is managed and supported.Serious issues and exploits can persist for long periods of time, sometimes severely damaging the in-game economy and overall gameplay experience. Communication with the community is minimal, and support responses can be extremely slow. What becomes most frustrating over time is the feeling that responsibility for systemic problems is sometimes pushed onto players rather than addressed at the developer level. This gradually erodes trust between the community and the developers.A healthy live-service game depends on transparency, communication, and mutual respect between players and developers. Right now, Dune: Awakening often struggles in those areas. Many players genuinely want this game to succeed because the core idea is fantastic. But until the management of the game, communication, and long-term support improve, it is difficult to recommend it with confidence.

Honestly, I love Dune and I enjoyed this game for a while. But once I got stuck on a main faction quest, it became impossible to progress. I reported the bug by email and in-game, and never got any response. Now I’m literally stuck and can’t advance at all. I’m a big Dune fan, but this company broke the game. The game is broken, and I really wish I could refund it.

For players familiar with Funcom’s other survival sandbox, Conan Exiles, Dune: Awakening feels like a recognizable experience. Its frustrating progression and clunky combat can hinder early impressions, but the game offers strong immersion. Playing with friends helps mitigate its flaws. In the end, Dune: Awakening is worth a try for those looking for a new survival-based multiplayer adventure.

If you are a fan of Dune, there’s a lot here to enjoy, the interplay between houses, the war of assassins, and of course the fear of being pursued by a worm and only just escaping, or perhaps not escaping. Despite the glitches, I have still found myself returning time and time again, and though some tasks can be frustrating or repetitive, it’s such a beautifully realised world that I don’t really mind. Even when I shut it down to take a break for a while, inevitably I will be firing it up again before long to see just how much further I can get, or what I can manage to get the resources together to build next. I’m so close to being able to build my ornithopter. Definitely jump in and explore!

Dune: Awakening takes advantage of the franchise's great momentum to create an immersive experience in the Arrakis desert, mixing MMO and survival elements in a good balance. Despite some technical flaws and combat that will need to be reworked by developer Funcom, it's a solid and fun base for a game that has everything it takes to become a benchmark in the genre.

Great world, music and graphics. Very few bugs and a dedicated development team. Amazing coop game. Highly recommend!

Dune: Awakening finds its Voice in the strengths of the universe it adapts and the weirder elements that can’t be found elsewhere even if its early hours and melee combat need more work.

Dune: Awakening is a survival game where the mechanics feel right at home in its brutal but beautiful fictional world. Between the sunburn, sandstorms, and militant forces leering on your location, there is no shortage of hectic hurdles to fight against as you grow your power and form alliances. Despite the lackluster combat and occasional bugs, Dune: Awakening offers an enticing trial by fire for fans of MMOs and Frank Herbert alike.

An engrossing survival and crafting game with flawed but engaging endgame systems.

Dune: Awakening offers a beautifully crafted version of Arrakis, with impressive survival mechanics, good progression, flexible class combinations, and engaging exploration. However, its combat is underwhelming, base building is weak, and the MMO label feels misleading due to its focus on content for soloplayers. The world can feel empty, quests lack depth, and the upkeep system discourages taking breaks. Despite its flaws, the game remains compelling and could become significantly better with future updates, especially for fans of the Dune universe.

With distinctive challenges, rich worldbuilding, and an expansion pack already in progress, Dune: Awakening is an impressive game that will only improve with time. I, for one, can’t wait to keep playing and watch it grow. I just wish it would hurry up a little.

I’ve really enjoyed my time with Dune: Awakening so far. The survival side of the game is fantastic, and I love the new storyline that feels like it’s running in a parallel universe or maybe one of Paul’s visions. It captures Frank Herbert’s universe beautifully. The combat is exciting, and the crafting system is spot on.That said, there are a couple of downsides for me. The always-online requirement and PvP focus take away from the chill, solo experience I usually look for in games. As someone who prefers to play at my own pace, I don’t like that I have to log in regularly just to keep my progress safe. On top of that, the tax and power features are really frustrating and feel like they punish casual **** this game had a true offline, solo campaign option, it would easily be a 9/10 for me. But because of the online dependency, I can only give it a 7/10. Still, for anyone who loves Dune and enjoys survival games, it’s absolutely worth trying.

Early-Mid game : great survival PVE game
Endgame : boring non inspired PVP with toxic gankers.
This game should have PVE endgame, PVP should be ground PVP. PVE should be totally apart from PVP. This game definitely made me hate PVP, really hate.
SummaryDune: Awakening combines the grittiness and creativity of survival games with the social interactivity of large-scale, persistent multiplayer games to create a unique and ambitious Open World Survival MMO. Rise from survival to dominance in a vast and seamless Arrakis shared by thousands of players.
