This one is my favourite Dragon ball game to date (I’m writing this review a day before sparking zero). I played almost every DB game out there and this is very special. It’s a sequel to Budokai Tenkaichi 3 but more of a spin-off with familiar ideas mixed in with new **** gameplay is a little bit slower than BT3 but with more customisation for each character. One disappointment is the roster, very reduced from BT3, and with some very weird omissions like Ultimate Gohan and Dabura.
This is easily the best looking DB game to date. Lots of modes to play, an in-depth story mode with many what-if scenarios and a very deep customisation system for every character from specials move to item and stats.

The game is rich of content but still succumbs to the knees of other great fighting games. The system isn't the most balanced and the camera will certainly become a nuisance at times.

As much as I love Dragon ball this game just did not do it for me, whilst the game in itself isn't necessarily bad, intricate fighting controls with some cool animation, in my opinion it lacks replay-ability I got rapidly bored was not driven by any sense of story and didn't feel like I was getting anything out of the game. I guess the reason I am being so harsh is because the last DBZ game I played was on gameboy advance (the legacy of goku) and it was astronomically better than this game. Can't someone please give us an rpg style open world next gen game in the Dragonball world.
