A non-sense indie arcade game that recalls Katamari Damacy's gameplay style but falls too short to be remembered.

You’ll see everything Donut County has to offer in the few hours it takes to finish. Like a doughnut: short but sweet. [Issue#154, p.97]
It’s something of a dilemma to be left disappointed by a game where your only complaint is that it left you wanting more. But that’s how I feel about Donut County. What it does, it does very well. But there just isn’t enough of it.

it's a pitty this game has too many conversations and then it doesn't give you big levels to devour items and become huge. It's based on small levels and they cut you down when the fun starts. I didn't enjoy it, however is not necessarily a bad game.

Donut County is short. It has little to no replay value. It feels like it squanders a great deal of its potential. And yet, Donut County is still one of the best games I’ve played this year. You may only get a few hours out of Donut County, but they’re a few great hours.

Donut County is a little short and peaks prematurely and I don’t care. I’ve never played a game where I control a hungry hole, think like a trash raccoon, or talk to friendly animals at the bottom of a cave.

A hole lot of fun--healing in the siliest way possible.I wasn't expecting this game to be EXACTLY what I needed, but it was.Donut County gave me the space to breathe, laugh and focus on something light but smart. The puzzles were creative and satisfying without ever feeling frustrating, and the story had just enough heart and humor to gently pull me out of my own head.I've been dealing with some grief and heavy emotions lately, and this game reminded me that joy and weirdness still exist in the world. There's something oddly comforting about cleaning up chaos with a giant racoon-powered **** you're looking for something short, sweet and quietly meaningful, this one is a donut-sized delight.

Donut County's gameplay doesn't offer much of a challenge, but the mechanics work as an engaging core for a game that delivers so many charming characters and genuine laughs.

Donut County is an excellent concept executed with pizzazz, personality, and an unexpectedly salient message at its core. While the end came abruptly and left me wanting more, like an endless mode or bigger levels to swallow things in, I can't deny the great time I had with what's there.

A nice little game, with emphasis on the little. You'll have a great time in its couple of hours of quirky gameplay, but that might not be enough for some, considering the price.

While the story was a non-event and there’s not nearly enough absurd hijinks happening to suit my taste, I still found Donut County to be a worthwhile experience that was hard to put down. Making things disappear into the earth like a wrathful subterranean god was cathartic in an unexpected way. I’m not sure that I can fully articulate it, but I do recommend it.

Donut County gets points for its great art style, hilarious writing, and its truly unique gameplay. Unfortunately, as a game, it feels woefully underdeveloped, lacks any kind of challenge, and is far too short.

Com certeza é um excelente jogo de puzzles. Eu realmente me diverti muito jogando. Apesar de serem puzzles tecnicamente fáceis, a história é interessante e faz você querer prosseguir para saber o desfecho.

It's fun. I wouldn't call it anything groundbreaking or incredible, but it is a fun game. The story and humor is charming, and the gameplay while simple does get shaken up enough to stay engaing. Again nothing groundbreaking, but it is pretty fun.

Fun game that is a one time playable game. I didn't spent any money on this game, because i sailed the seven seas to get it. Funny little game for a chill time.

The characters spoil the entire game for me; if they're not engaging, it diminishes my desire to play. In my mind, they all perished in that ridiculous final boss battle.

I love hole games. I’ve played a couple on mobile and have wasted hours I’ll never get back swallowing up everything the games had to offer me. It was mindless entertainment and for me it was time well spent. Donut County seemed to offer that same kind of addictive gameplay loop but with some interesting puzzle-like elements thrown into the mix wrapped up in a weird, amusing little story filled with quirky characters and visuals that only indie games can offer up. So, I bought into it - and less than two hours later, I’d finished the game and had as left feeling completely disengaged, unimpressed and even a little annoyed at just how misled I was. The game certainly delivers on the weirdness, with a story centred around a girl and her best friend (a raccoon) who find themselves trapped beneath the surface of their once bustling little town with all of the townsfolk due to being swallowed up by a hole controlled by the raccoon. The game takes the player through various scenarios in which you are controlling the hole that eventually leads each character’s literal downfall (into the hole). Each scenario takes about two minutes to complete where you’re tasked with swallowing up a limited amount of objects on screen with each scenario offering varying and mildly interesting ways of using the hole to lay destruction. The ability to run rampant though and swallow up any and everything is non-existent. The methods you need to utilise in order to successfully complete each levels are extremely limited and linear and there is nothing to do in the levels except swallow up the few objects the game’s story presents - there are no collectibles and no alternative ways to complete a level. There is no feeling of freedom or choice. I was so bored and unimpressed that the almost two hour run time actually felt like a godsend for me - there is nothing to do beyond finishing the game either. No unlockables, no post game content, nothing. The only replayability offered is the couple of times I was forced to restart a level due to an item I was required to swallow up being out of bounds - meaning the hole I was controlling was unable to get past the invisible wall in order the reach the item that had flown off earlier on. The story offers nothing to satisfy gamers who finish the game either. Ultimately I was left feeling strangely empty and unfulfilled. I redownloaded one of the aforementioned hole games and started playing it to fill in the gap this horrible excuse for a game left within me. Unfortunately I can’t even recommend this game on sale.

SummaryDonut County is a story-based physics puzzle game where you play as an ever-growing hole in the ground. Meet cute characters, steal their trash, and throw them in a hole.
