A fine game for younger audiences that can be enjoyed by parents too.

Fan service in a lackluster attempt to offer the same game design enjoyed by the Super Smash Bros. franchise.

Unfortunately, "Digimon: All-Star Rumble" is merely okay.

With bargain basement production values, mediocre visuals, boring gameplay and a substantial lack of features, there’s no reason to experience it. Adding salt to the wound is the fact that it’s for all intents and purposes a threequel to a mediocre clone of Super Smash Bros. Melee released the same month as the current-generation version of that series will debut.

With tempered expectations, fans could get something out of this, but for everyone else, there are better brawlers for better prices already on the market.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the Digimon game fans will be jumping up and down for nor is it something they deserve.

I do appreciate the effort here, especially when you consider All-Star Rumble’s status as a Western exclusive. That said, the game’s conspicuous lack of quality seems almost suspicious.

Even die-hard Digimon fans will find very little to relish in this western-only release. For everyone else, many other fighting games can provide a more satisfying experience.

This is not the Digimon game that you've been waiting for.

Probably the most frustrating omission is the lack of any sort of online mode. It's hard to get this kind of game right in online play - Nintendo itself still hasn't achieved it, but a fighting game that doesn't at least try to go online is a dud from the outset.
