Demetrios – The BIG Cynical Adventure is a quirky point n’ click title with a perfect blend of smart, mature, and pop humour that tells a refreshingly new story without pushing itself into the realm of slapstick exaggeration for the sake of a gag.

With its hand-drawn environments, plentiful jokes, and reasonable 8-12 hours of play, Demetrios has a lot going for it.

We really hope and wish that Demetrios will bring COWCAT and Fabrice Breton the money needed to proceed with the creation of the next game, mostly in order to see if the talented French has something better and more imaginative to offer us in terms of script and overall story. All the other elements of Demetrios leave no doubt that through it a highly capable and ambitious developer was successfully introduced to all of us.

Not everyone will appreciate the humor, art style, or that it’s a point-and-click game. I enjoyed all of it.

While it may look like a dirty cartoon, Demetrios: The BIG Cynical Adventure is endearing and eminently playable.

It is easy on the eyes, fun to listen to, and its cruel satire and toilet humor make it an entertaining journey from the beginning to the end. The game would benefit from more fleshed out gameplay and more imaginative puzzle design, but it is still one that left me wanting to see more out of this developer in the future.

Even without state of the art graphics, Demetrios stands strong with its solid length, charm and humor so rarely seen in modern gaming.

Demetrios - The BIG Cynical Adventure is a valid graphic adventure, characterized by a heavy dose of humor, which, however, is also one of its major defects.

If you like classic point & click adventure games, then Demetrios is worth a play.

Some may find Demetrios‘s outlook offputting, but if you like your humour on the snarky side you’ll find a surprisingly substantial adventure here.
