Honestly not a bad game. The gameplay can get a bit Repetitive, especially later on; Besides that though I love the character designs and I feel that chapter 5 has alot of potential. I'm ready for it. #MurderMonkeyNation

It's decent, but not really scary. Plus it didn't keep track of where I was which kind of pissed me off.

Dark Deception is easily the best game I have ever played, the characters, the levels, the graphics, and most notably... The story. However, that doesn't mean that this game is perfect by any means, there are still some bugs/oversights but in general, this is a game worth playing. I will go through the things that this game does well and things that could use improvement. I will add a TLDR for those who cant be bothered reading it. The story 10/10 I wont spoil anything for those who haven't played the game yet, but I must say, the story in this game is phenomenal. It has twists and turns that keeps your mind on its toes and is so engaging to the point that it keeps you always wanting more. I come from a writing background, and I find the twist seen in Dark Deception to be something that I would write when given the context. The Levels 9/10 The levels in Dark Deception are split into chapters in an indie-game fashion. They are honestly perfect in almost everyway except for one thing. They don't follow a hierarchy of difficulty, when you compare the first and second levels of the game, it's as if the game is on easy mode when playing the second level especially when compared to the first. Later on this seems to even out but it's sad to see that the level that all new players go through is incredibly difficult. I know I seem really negative in this portion but I really do think that other than this problem the levels are perfect. The Soundtrack(s) 10/10 Wow! The music made predominately by Daniel Dombrowsky is absolute astonishment. You really can tell that so much talent and love went into the soundtracks found in game. They are suspenseful, creepy, chaotic and just generally good. Which is probably why I listen to them so often out of game. The Graphics 9/10 The look of Dark Deception really is beautiful, the lighting and textures help to encapsulate the player into the level and adds a surreal/vicarious note to the gameplay. The models of the characters and items also allow the player to fell immersed into the experience. And surprisingly, the high-end graphics in the game are very well optimised to allow anyone to play it without issues. The only problem I have with the graphics is the small errors with textures and such but it's honestly such as small problem that I doubt very many will notice. TLDR; Story 10/10 - Super engaging Levels 9/10 - Might be too hard or too easy at times Music 10/10 Amazing soundtracks Graphics 9/10 Well optimised and very immersive but have small errors. Average - 9.5 but I believe that with a few other things taken into consideration it would be a 9.3, which is why I ranked Dark Deception at a 9.

*Disclaimer: The game is not finished yet, Chapters 1-4 have been released but the general audience is still waiting for Chapter 5 so do not take this review as advice for buying the full game on Steam or Epic Games. Instead, I will only be talking about the chapters that have been released. Viewer discretion is advised. Dark Deception is one of the weirdest games I've ever played but remains a game that I speak quite fondly of regardless of the issues the game may have. I remember it popping up in my Steam about section one day as I was browsing through games that I should buy and found it randomly. I was interested but I wasn't sold. It was when the game randomly started appearing on my recommended page on YouTube that I started to take notice. Eventually I downloaded the game about a few days later and began playing. And the first thing that stood out to me were the game's visuals being really good and not lacking in detail when I eventually had to turn down the graphics. I have a pretty bad PC so it can't really handle that many modern games at their full artistic detail, however the game is planned to release on consoles once Chapter 5 releases so eventually I will be able to but I still think they look okay after being turned down. In terms of the actual game, the summary my friends gave me was more or less the same as the actual game itself, "Pac-Man but with horror elements". However I still think it's fine for what it does. What I have an issue with is the game's heavy need on sound to detect when an enemy is near you. The 1st level relies on this so much that I died at least 5 times before I started to understand the enemy mechanics. It does get better later on as you need to rely more on visuals than sound but still is something that didn't exactly give me the best 1st taste. The game has been getting better with more updates and patches to make the game easier and more accessible to other players so that's good. They even have included mini bosses in Chapters 1 & 2 due to how much players loved the boss battles in Chapter 3. The 1st chapter is completely free however all the other chapters do cost money and am a bit annoyed but their pricing, each chapter (aside from Chapter 1) costs 6.99 on Steam with the Complete Edition with Chapters 2, 3 and 4 (with Chapter 5 coming later) costing $19.99. I am certain the complete edition price will become the game's price when the game is fully complete but for those who choose to buy one chapter at a time, this is annoying. The game does get better with each chapter is still something that I just can not ignore. Overall, play the 1st chapter and if you like it enough, consider buying the complete edition (if you can't, just buy the game chapter by chapter). Anyways, thanks for reading. Peace out.
