If you're just after a quick rental, though, this can be worth checking out. And if you're a parent with a kid who likes Code Lyoko, put the 40 bucks down and grab this game -- they're sure to get a kick out of it.

Nostalgia plays an important role for me, but even after replaying it, I still think it’s a very good game for the Nintendo Wii, making great use of the Wii Remote’s aiming capabilities. The levels and gameplay fit the series well, and it proves to be a solid game, with good level design and dynamic gameplay that never gets tiring.

Worth Playing
Fans of the show will likely relish the opportunity to relive one of their favorite series through the eyes of the protagonists, while everyone else will simply wonder what's going on and why one of the main characters is dressed like a cat.

Fans may see past the clumsy structuring, but from a gamer's perspective this is slightly too flawed to pick up for throwaway fun. [Christmas 2007, p.62]

Code Lyoko: Quest for Infinity offers little new to fans of the platformer genre, but perhaps followers of the show can overlook the bland mechanics just to spend time with the characters.

For a game aimed a children, Code Lyoko doesn't really deliver.

The lackluster level designs and jerky controls make you feel empty. [Jan 2008, p.76]

Code lyoko was my life back when I was a kid, so naturally I played the video games based off the show. I must have replayed this game like a dozen times, and looking back on it now, its still really good, and it really does feel like you are playing episodes of the show. Sadly though, as much as I love this game, I can really only recommend it to those who are fans of the show, as outsiders will most likely just see this as “another mediocre licensed game”, as the game is fairly short and easy once you know what you’re doing, and I didn’t even bring up the glitches, and this game does have a number of them. Nothing game breaking, but they are distracting. Fans like myself will be able to look past them, but outsiders might not be able to do so. Because of this, the game gets a 7/10. I love it, and I highly recommend that fans of the show check it out, but I don’t think anyone else would really get that much enjoyment out of it.

An action and platform game with good graphics but with empty and generic maps, the map styles are the same, only the color changes for each environment, the 4 main characters have only two attacks, the normal attack and a special attack, a positive point is that each one has exclusive abilities to advance levels (for example: one can climb, the other can move blocks) which makes you use all the characters, but one scary thing is the character design, every time I looked at the characters I thought to myself how ugly they were, HORRIFYING. The story is anything but, I believe there is a drawing that if you watch it, you will understand more of it, the OST is also forgettable. Otherwise, Code Lyoko is an average game, honestly nothing special.

Right in the middle, I'm gonna give this game a 5. It's basically the Code Lyoko TV show, but the cutscenes might be good to put in a dating sim or something like that. Overall, everything else about the game is fine. The controls are fine, the graphics are fine, the voice acting is good. 5/10. Not practically a 10. But just a 5. Just good.
