If you’re in the market for a super cheap, super quick runthrough in which you can gather up pretty much a full 1000 Gamerscore in less than 30 minutes, then this is the game for you. However, if you’re looking for something half decent, or a new adventure to get your teeth into, don’t even consider Chop is Dish.

Chop is Dish is an 8Bit sidescrolling Platformer. The name sounds like a Chef that doesn't speak English telling you what you're going to eat, Chop is Dish! And that's not where the grammatical errors end, by far. The game is a retro-looking ****... game. Your standard platforming experience, with a lot of Mario influence hanging on its sleeve. For example, you jump on enemies to kill them unless you have a power-up, When you bop a snail it leaves it's shell for you to kick. But be forewarned, the collision in this game is also off, allowing you to kick the shell, walk through it, and get hit in the back by it. The same goes for obstacles, as the round sawblades seem to have square hitboxes. The game is a fun idea, with a lot of possibilities, but has been executed poorly. There is a backstory level you can play as the enemy, and it gives you 10 lives to complete this level, you may need them. Landing on a platform that's moving seems to boost your motion, so be careful of that too. Chop is Dish has the potential to be a fun platformer, it's just not easy to play with some of the collision issues it possesses. If you do decide to buy this game, for it's tiny price, just be warned it's not hard because of a design choice, but the lack there of.
