Assassin's Creed Rogue is an often-overlooked entry in the series. It's a fun compilation of all prior releases, and it has a cool story and strong characters. Its remastered version, however, doesn't add anything significant and falls flat since it doesn't offer any improvements to Shay Cormac's Assassin/Templar story.

The visual rework may not be the best we've seen, but this 2018 Assassin's Creed Rogue edition is a true opportunity for all the players who missed the game in 2014.

As a jumping in point, it would be difficult to recommend Assassin's Creed Rogue. However, as a product in and of itself, it is a cohesive experience with hidden levels of depth and progression possibilities, backed by exceptional presentation values and fun fighting and seafaring mechanics. Completionists looking for an irresistible challenge and franchise fans who missed out the first time around will find a lot to love here.

A perfectly serviceable Assassin's Creed game with an interesting story, but some gameplay jank that holds it back from greatness. I wish there would have been less naval battles, and more polish towards the parkour and melee combat.

One of my personal favorites! Unique store that appears nowhere else in the series. It shows us templar's side. Allows us to see how templars are not necessarily the bad ones. That combined with basically ACIV's world and also a big city? What is there to ask more of? Also connects the "New World" era (ACIII, AC IV & AC Rogue) with the next game (AC Unity). I cannot believe at the game's low score, it breaks my heart.
Hidden gem.

I got the game in 2025 and played it on PS5 Pro. There were no issues with compatability. The gamecontent is for about 15 to 30 hours good, going for 100% might take over 35 hours. With story completed an a bunch of upgrading the ship, I spent 19 hours for around 55% completion. Most outstanding part of the game is definetively its idea to play as a templar. Though I also like its general other ideas, as for upgrading buildings, slight changes to ship combat compared to AC IV and a few more could have made the game one of the best in the franchise.
As it is the remaster, I expected more polishing and specifically better graphics compared to the non remaster. On a 4k OLED screen, I did not encouter anything terrible in visual quality, for its time, the graphics are all right.
A negative is the quality features in terms of missing bug fixing, as characters and objects occasionally slipped though other textures. Especially in a remaster, this is unexpected and no good.
The story progresses consistently but rather quickly, it should have gotten more depth but its not a major part to criticize. The goals and targets of missions are clear and easy to follow.
The amount of updates after reading the disk is less than a GB, which I do wonder about, as there were probably a lot of things to fix from first release. Buying the game in 2025 for 15€ and having fun playing it without any real expectations, I recommend giving it a chance. Especially if you liked AC IV in general and want something new in its kind of gameplay.

Assassin's Creed Rogue Remastered gives players a chance to play an important game in the series' ongoing narrative, and this re-release looks (and plays) better than ever.

This game has a more unique story, though with repeating missions made it easy, like all the past games before it, mostly 4. It's an overall fun game compared to 4, and it's just under rated.

It might be unfair to judge a four year-old game by today’s standards, but after experiencing the deep open world of Origins, it’s hard to go back.

Rogue still is very enjoyable, maybe even more than you think, but if you already played it this remaster doesn't offer anything new.

Assassin's Creed Rogue Remastered, still have the problems of the games original release. Broken combat and movement mechanics is just no fun. The only good aspects of this game are the visuals and naval combat.

Assassin’s Creed Rogue Remastered has some noticeable graphical improvements, but not enough to overshadow the gameplay flaws of the original. At $30, the game is only really worth it for hardcore fans.

Even after all my criticisms with the game, the ending was both surprising and fitting.

This is one of the best title of this saga because this game take all gameplay mechanics of Assasin's Creed 3 and Black Flag and improve **** fantastic thing about this game is that we can finally see the other side of the coin. This game is a must play for Assassin's Creed fan P.S.(I played both version of the game XBOX and PS4/PS3)

I skipped this one back then, mainly because of all the collectibles at the beginning. But the game gets better, it's a real AC. The remastering is pretty good. Well, better than the 3. Then again, the 3 and the 4 games were based on the worst engine in the series. The main games had some redeeming qualities, especially black flag, which remains my favourite. But really, no point playing those now, playability is awful
