I cared more for these characters and the world than I ever did in previous Assassin’s Creed games, and I think that’s part of why this reboot is so successful. Playing Assassin’s Creed Odyssey left me feeling valiant and triumphant as I worked my way up the cultist food chain, and and I was always excited to see what Kassandra was off to discover next.

If someone had told me couple of years ago that Assassin’s Creed would become a full-fledged action RPG that would not look out of place on a shelf next to The Witcher 3, I would have snickered. But here I am, over 80 hours into Odyssey and still unable to believe that really happened. [12/2018, p.44]

It also commits a few of the same sins: in particular, the deluge of gar drops feels vaguely insulting, conditioning the player to lust after items exclusive to the in-game store. It's lifted, however, by the relative wit and intelligence of its quest design, and the delicate notes of uncertainty and curiosity introduced by Exploration mode. [Christmas 2018, p.108]

Overall, really boring. It's one of the most uninspired games I've ever played with an okay story, pretend RPG choices, basic combat that becomes mind numbing due to the dumb and unvaried enemies, and tedious repeat quests and map markers. The amount of loading screens and length was utterly ridiculous for this grind fest. The scummy store is is so blatantly gross I can't believe they got away with it. It's just so nothing, not an RPG, not an Assassin's Creed game, just eh. An idea of a video game that gets tired extremely fast.

Just a great episod that let you explore the real antique Greece, it's gorgeous. Some great NPC make the adventure also cool, and there are plenty different ways to play the game.

Perfects everything Origins did and enhances them in ways you never thought an Assassin's Creed game could. Odyssey has it all.

So big The Witcher 3 wants a rest. This is an epic told with flair, coupled with one of the liveliest open worlds on PlayStation 4. Odyssey is not just the best Assassin’s Creed in years, but one of the finest action RPGs you’ll play. [Issue#155, p.72]

This game is just so underatted, I agree with the fact that there is no Assassin Creed but the game in itself is really good, all the iconic things in ac are in the game but in a different form and the combat is probably one of the best of the saga. I also love the mythology side of the game, an incredible RPG.

The world of Odyssey is the most versatile and fun yet in Assassin's Creed, offering distinctive storytelling, great variety of combat gameplay and exciting exploration.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey is big and beautiful. Could it be a much better game? Sure. But it's an amazing adventure with echoes of the Greek classic tales about travels and fantasy.

Fans who arrive at Odyssey expecting the Assassin’s Creed experience they grew up with may be disappointed or confused, but gamers ready for a new era for the franchise should plan to be overwhelmed with opportunity.

Odyssey is no doubt the biggest game in the Assassin's Creed series, and could easily be considered the best one. Unfortunately the efforts to reshape an action game into an RPG were only partially successful. Ubisoft already checked off everything from a great atmosphere and a gigantic map to some cool gameplay mechanics, but narration and moral choices still do not deliver - Witcher 3 is still miles ahead.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey features a rich, lush world lessened by its repetitive activities. Though the main story is compelling, completing it requires you to participate in a massive amount of level grinding through less-than-stellar side quests. There’s plenty to do in this world, but a lot of it feels like busy work that fights to stay exciting or compelling. Odyssey is yet another open world game that misinterprets the meaning of more content.

The open world is excellent, the gameplay is good, it has some bugs but it remains my favorite game along with GTA V and Resident Evil 7.

It’s not really about the Isu or the Artifacts in the main game — the problem is that there’s just too much traveling, which eventually becomes boring. Facial animations also don’t always match the character’s mood or the dialogue, and even the main ending feels flat and emotionless. The DLCs are good, but the repetitiveness makes you want to just get them over with at some point.

Where to start, I actually enjoyed the game when I first started playing it however, it is a very long game with lots of side quests and missions. You can easily spend 50-100+ hours trying to complete the main storylines. The world is beautiful, and they did a good job portraying ancient Greece. I just wish the world was more interactive with things like npcs and stuff sorta like read dead redemption. The combat is pretty good, and I definitely like it better than Valhalla. The cutscences and voice acting are questionable though.

One of the worst games I ever played in my life. The story is bad, the gameplay is decent, the world is visually amazing but in reality its just empty, the leveling system is as bad as the free-to-play mobile games.
