For better or worse, Assassin's Creed III Remastered introduces the polarising Connor Kenway to current generation consoles. Aside from some impressive graphical reworking, it is in many ways a simple port: bugs and issues with the original remain largely the same outside of some much-appreciated quality of life improvements and a handful of minor tweaks. Those who enjoyed the original, as well as Assassin's Creed fans who haven't yet played it, will likely appreciate this remaster for what it is, as long as nothing revolutionary is expected of it.

Assassin’s Creed 3 Remastered is a collection that comes packed with a heap of visual improvements and gameplay tweaks, yet maintains all the things that divided players back with the original release. There are still problems around, but it is a collection that transforms the experience to the modern-day standards and keeps us reminiscing the days when the series had much more promise.

Assassin's Creed III Remastered is a mixed bag. It's repetitive combat and lackluster visuals, strung through with a few bright spots of naval combat and exploration, and unique displays of combat. Narratively, the game is as weak as they come. There's no mystery. Just an obligatory plot to finish the fight between the Assassins and Templars. Not to mention the mumbo jumbo with the First Civilization. The game is frustrating and not worth another look.

Well, the game is very buggy. The bugs aren’t necessarily game-breaking but very annoying, forcing you to replay some stages like 10 times or just straight up rage quit. I enjoyed the story when I played the original but this version just **** the fun out of it. Stealth is practically impossible, some mechanics are lacklustre and the UI is terrible (you would think they would change it since it’s a 2012 game but oh well). Honestly, you’re way better off just playing the original. Even though, it has the same flaws, I think it’s to a lesser extent in the original.

Unfortunately, I couldn't progress through the main quest due to unresolved bugs in the game. If Ubisoft releases an update to fix these bugs, maybe I'll consider it. In short, don't buy this game; your buggy gaming experience will be incomplete. ...

At the end of the day, I love AC3. I know that I’m not the average player, having studied the Marquis de Lafayette at a college level, but I love sinking hours into Ubisoft’s version of colonial America, where the oft-overlooked make the most important choices of all. Also, I can attack as many Redcoats as I want, with the only consequence being a city-wide manhunt. With this fresh coat of paint, Assassin’s Creed III has never been more fun—providing you enjoyed it in the first place.

Assassin's Creed III Remastered offers high quality and remains a compelling experience. I have no doubt - it's the best remaster this series has gotten thus far. The developers managed to deliver more than just higher resolution, but then some aspects still seem somewhat undercooked.

Assassin’s Creed III Remastered is a worthy opportunity to revisit one of the most undervalued games in the series. Despite its imperfections, the world that Ubisoft created 7 years ago manages to preserve its magic. An experience that has been reinforced by a set of technical and playable improvements that accompany this new version.

Assassin's Creed 3 Remastered, without correcting the major structural problems of the original, is still a recommended title as a complete edition of a way of making games that Ubisoft no longer implements.

Beside the visual enhancements and some tweaked mechanics this game still suffers from the same donwfalls as the original one, players who didn't play the original may enjoy the plentiful content and the Tyranny of King Washington DLC.

Assassin's Creed III remastered contains a lot of content and you will definitely enjoy playing it. Still it still feels like a game which was released years ago. Not a must have, rather a nice to have.

Even a high-quality remaster such as this can’t hide the fact that Assassin’s Creed III is too much a product of its time and has little to offer modern gaming.

Connor's story is refreshing and varied. The historical setting feels unique and is a welcome departure from previous entries in the series. However, the narrative of Desmond continues to be a point of contention, as his storyline has consistently failed to capture my interest throughout the series, and AC3 is no exception.Visually, the game holds up well for its age, showcasing a well-designed environment that enhances the immersive experience. Nevertheless, the abundance of features can feel overwhelming, particularly when many of them are not adequately explained. This lack of clarity detracts from the overall experience, making it challenging to engage with the game’s numerous mechanics. The side activities, such as hunting, feel underdeveloped and fail to provide a compelling reason to dive into them. This lack of motivation extends to the overall gameplay, which is disappointing. Combat is overly simplistic and lacks challenge, while movement—whether on foot or horseback—often feels clunky and unresponsive. In conclusion, while Assassin's Creed 3 offers an intriguing story and nice visuals, it falls short in gameplay mechanics and the execution of side activities, leaving much to be desired for players seeking a more polished experience.

When I played Brotherhood, I thought it was the worst Assassin's Creed game, but AC III managed to change my mind. AC III is deadly boring, with extremely tedious missions. The story is really just thrown in for the sake of it, and the combat and parkour are worse than AC Revelations, in my opinion. To cut a long story short, when Ubisoft created AC III, they didn't feel like working, as usual. Ahhh, I miss Ezio.
