I finally grabbed The Lyra Signal during the current summer sale, and for only $2, I’m so happy I did! It’s a really engaging little adventure that kept me hooked for about 4 ****’s definitely more of an adventure-mystery than a cozy VN, which was a nice change of pace. While there isn't any graphic violence, there are definitely some genuinely sad, emotional moments that really hit home. The game features 4 different endings to uncover; while there aren’t a ton of branching choices, it didn't feel like it needed them to keep me invested. Everything felt very intentional, and I really enjoyed the journey from start to finish. If you’re looking for a compelling story to spend a few hours with, you absolutely can’t go wrong with this one at its current price. Looking forward to what comes next!

This is such a lovely and polite exploration of traditional Japanese culture and folklore. I really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere of Hoori village, and the game does a wonderful job of making you feel welcome in its setting. The heroines are all very charming, and their individual stories are filled with sweet, gentle moments that are quite heartwarming. It can be a very long read, and the common route feels a bit slow to get started, but it’s a very cozy and comforting experience overall if you enjoy a relaxed pace.

The production quality in this game is stunning—the comic-book style animations flow so beautifully, it almost feels like watching a high-end animated movie. I really enjoyed the unique setup of playing as a dispatcher on a strategy map, even if that part of the gameplay feels a bit separate from the main plot. The real strength is definitely the choices; they feel incredibly heavy and forced me to really think about what kind of example I wanted to set for the team. It’s a very sharp, polished episodic adventure that treats its characters with a surprising amount of emotional depth.

A very sweet game that hides some very dark secrets. The side stories in this version are lovely and really help you understand the characters better. It’s very clever and emotional, just please pay attention to the warnings before playing! It’s a bit of a rollercoaster.

I went into this a bit nervous because of the premise, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much heart it has. It’s a very down-to-earth story about living with disability and navigating high school life, and it handles those themes with a lot of grace and sincerity. Some of the routes are definitely stronger and more emotional than others, but the characters feel like real people with real struggles. It’s a bit of an older game now, but it still feels very special.
