Doom

For a big-screen disposable, Doom has a few jolts, a few good laughs and an attractive female lead to whom you want to say, "What's a nice girl like you doing on a Mars like this?"

As dumb as they come, the entertaining Doom might warrant a place in cinema history as the first movie in which someone rips off their own ear.

The Rock's ungainly performance is somewhat alleviated by Karl Urban as a crew member and Rosamund Pike as his twin sister.

Basically a deadly dull rehash of "Resident Evil," which in turn was a third-generation clone of "Aliens."

Baffling too is The Rock's choice to follow up his acclaimed performance in "Be Cool" with a role that requires him to do little more than widen his eyes and grunt lines.

Even The Rock, who can usually be counted on to enliven any scenario, seems bored by the laughably feeble script.

This claustrophobic mess of a movie offers only carnage.

Sure it wasn't 100% faithful to the game, but DOOM is a damn fine movie. I loved every moment of it. One of my favourites parts about the film was Dwayne Johnson. He gave a wonderful performance as Sarge. He was very creepy, authoritative and menacing. This is one of the most underrated movies of all time. My real rating would be an 9, but I'm giving it a 10 in order to boost the incredibly low 6.3 it currently has.

This is not a Doom movie, it is a decent sci fi action movie. separate it from the Doom ip and you have an okay movie

As an adaptation of the game its a bit bad. But as a film tho, its your sci-fi action/horror film from the 2000's, the cast was ok. The plot... Wasn't that boring, overall a very "ok" movie.

Really not as fun and badass as it should be. Even the 1st person scene meant to emulate the games felt incredibly slow upon rewatch. The plot is overly convoluted and silly, and even in 2005, relatively early into his acting career, The Rock was screentime-hungry and surprisingly uncharasmetic.

Another Terrible Video Game Film Doom has none of the fun of the legendary video game franchise it’s based on, Instead it’s pure and utter nonsense that not even The Rock can save.
