Eschalon: Book III

Pretty much the same as the other two, which I did enjoy, for the most part but this one I feel is a little imbalanced though in some aspects. Eschalon has some issues that were never really addressed I feel, the camping thing, basically you fight one enemy you have to find a place to camp, fight another, find a place to camp, then you can get jumped while camping, you will do lots of quick saving and camping cause you never know what can happen. The game seems to favor Ranged and/or pure casters, going melee is probably the worse thing to do in many situations while ranged and kiting is far easier. I lost my liking for this game with Eschalon 3, not that it is much different than 1 and 2, but I finally got tired of it. Graphics never changed either, very small graphics running in 1024x768. Music is fantastic though through entire series as is the sound effects.

If you like an extremely difficult turn based RPG, then this is for you, and I mean extremely difficult to the point of some could say it is out of balance. I played old school RPG's, though this game is in the style and done well enough, the difficulty is much higher than I remember. Every single fight you are **** to win it seems. Lots of statues effects for you to enjoy, characters can get one shotted in just a regular battle. Build up you say, well you can somewhat, but it isn't as easy as is most games, items are expensive, including the all needed revive item. The one saving grace is you can save anywhere at any time, and you will need this because you will probably want to reload many times. The game is using an RPG maker engine which, well isn't bad, music is pretty good, but whether that bothers you or not is a personal choice. The variety of class combinations is pretty cool. The story and characters are well done it seems. To be honest I didn't get past a handful of hours and I had enough more irritating then fun. Again if you like a super hard challenge then check this game out, if you don't like getting pissed off and saying WTF! are you kidding lol, then it isn't even worth the $1+ I spent for it.

While the graphics environments are quite amazing, the girl is pretty, the story strange. What really bugs me about it from a person who is an American, a patriot and a Christian, I was some what offended by the constant use of Christianity in a negative way and the American founding fathers and ideals in a negative way. Grant it, it is a game and the fictional story is about a false teacher etc using Christian and American ideals to do evil, and this kind of thing can and does happen, but in this game I almost feel the developers are anti-Christian and anti-American. For that reason alone I gave it a lower score and the game play is fairly basic shooter wise nothing really special we haven't seen before outside of amazing graphics.

If you like micro management then this is your game. The game is also somewhat buggy right now after the last patch the music isn't playing correctly, the auto battle is somewhat buggy as well. Graphics are ok, a bit hard to see the troops in the battle screen as they tend to blend into the landscape. I prefer Age of Wonders over this game, AoW overall is more polished and without so much micro management.

Not as good as FF Tactics which has much more refined game play. TO, is overly anal, and very irritating the anal part makes it irritating. They got some strange ideas on who can use what spells for example a cleric can't use all the light spells it seems, there are both level requirements and mystery (as in makes no sense) class requirements. Some maps are set up to really make you mad with undead that come back to life and only way to kill them is you must have some one who can cast one single spell called exorcism, if you don't pick that before hand forget it as another guy just keeps summoning more ghosts, all this in very begging part of the game. Then another map where you must rescue some AI NPC who runs suicidal towards the enemy, better have a good healer with good movement close by or it is game over. Why can't you use magic point blank is beyond me, you almost need archer range to cast a spell, what? since when? Stuff like this is just irritating. I guess if you really like this game type them go for it, otherwise it will piss you off guarantee.

Most addicting game I played in a long time. The character development, secrets to find, places to explore, and challenging tactical battles make it fun. Keep in mind this game is based on the old Might and Magic Xeen games mixed with some good things from Might and Magic 7 like skills and trainers. There are a few bugs that still need to be patched, but I didn't come across many except the music getting stuck and a respawn bug with spirit beacon which I just reloaded an older save to fix. So far only happened once to me. If you like old school Might and Magic this is probably for you. Kids who are looking for a MMORPG, or a Morrowind type game, look somewhere else.

Wow amazing game and it is free? Are you kidding me, yes that is right, they make money off of the item store sales and that is it. You would think that would mean the game is some cheap Chinese junk, well it isn't, this isn't, and it isn't Chinese at all, it is western. Dare I say this game is better than Diablo 3? Yeah I would say it is by a long shot. The graphics, music, and atmosphere is nice, as is the gem skill system. The map randomization is good as well. Is the game 100% perfect, no, but it is good. If you are a Diablo type fan, definitely check this out. You may have a few issues at first getting it to install, some do and don't.

The netcode in this game is garbage. The strange part is how some people don't seem to be effected by it while other other half the population is? I am talking it takes a clip to kill someone, but they can kill you in one or two shots, this is almost constant and consistent by the same people with the same high scores. Sometimes rarely it will run well and I can do that, but most often not, so apparently there is some kind of trick to getting the netcode to give you a huge advantage, whatever, should be equal for all players. I also had people appear out of thin air, if this is netcode or my CPU falling behind I don't know. BF3 played much better that this. I am also sick of having to level up to be able to compete.
