Oh dear. What a mess. fro the offset you can't help but compare it to the industry standard set by Nintendo with their far superior outings of Mario Kart. There really hasn't been much improved since the last game. Controlling either car, boat or plane (it alternates on laps) all feel either a mix of light or terribly clunky. Track design is mediocre at best but other times it feels such a let down and uninspiring. Music and sound effects are ear piercingly awful. Gone are the days of Sega's triumphant music composers and here we have some generic beats that don't reflect any nostalgia whatsoever. I don't want to reminded by stupid voice overs what part of the Menu I'm selecting, nor do I want to be told what lame projectiles or abilities I've driven over all the time. Yes ok, it has Vyse from Skies of Arcadia, and occasionally I had a few good laps and felt this is ok then it brings me back to the benchmark game: Mario Kart. No other 'toon racer will ever come close to matching the enjoyment of Nintendo's finest and this is a very dull and half-hearted attempt on a collection of Sega mascots killed in a blender. Sorry it really is that bad.

being a survival horror game veteran, craving games of days gone past where I'm not playing boring Quick Time Event filled with generic set pieces and countless over the top action sequences (yes Capcom, I'm referring to you) I was extremely happy to find Zombie U ticked all the right boxes for me. Currently 26 hours in and enjoying it immensely atmosphere, challenging immersive gameplay, edge of the seat and pulse setting scares have had me playing way into the night. Ok so a few technical issues were found towards the latter part of the game (some basic collision detection proved amusing for 30 seconds whilst some zombie legs jiggled violently through a door) none of which though detracted from this amazing horror experience. I've seen them all and played them all and this is by far the closest thing you can get to zombie apocalypse experience truly terrifying and 100% satisfying. An essential Wii U purchase for fans of the genre. Don't be put off from low reviewers complaining about the cricket bat and lack of weapons. This is a mans game! Not Call of Duty where you march in with nukes strapped to your thighs and dance around like a camp butterfly recreating daft scenarios from Die Hard 4.0 this is survival at its finest

An enjoyable slash-em up, although don't be fooled into thinking you can get away with simple button bashing... especially at the begining of the game. You need to think about what you are doing and use some tatics which is great 'cause otherwise this could have been a very generic and straightforward 'mash the control pad' now game. Gameplay is fun and rewarding although slightly flawed when it comes to a few sections (like boss fights and taking down aerial foes) I had difficulty with having to juggle all the buttons including holding down the necessary enemy targeting one and getting frustrated when the camera swoops around to where you don't want it be only for you completely botch up a successful parry and leave you wide open to attack. QT events are back! Not too bad though so don't worry often turning up when you're about to say goodbye to the latest boss. Stealth options feel limiting and tacked on too which is a shame. I also felt a bit stupid and vunerable standing in one spot with the projectile weapons compared to when I feel like I'm invincible as I'm darting around at 60mph cutting off limbs off my foes. I also can't help feeling 'Hmmmm this would have been great on the Wii U with motion control' so I could accurately slice and dice to my hearts content. I do have to say I absolutley love the over the top cut scenes style and presentation are top notch (ok the story is a little weak but who cares) and reminiscent of the 90s anime style series and movies. Purely solo-player with a campaign that will prob last you about 6-7 hours for the first play through is fine, it never feels like it should be longer and that you're missing out as there is the option to go back to conquer higher difficulties, find those missing collectibles and so forth, as well as take part in Artificial Reality styled missions outside of the main game. Overall if you enjoyed games like Bayonetta (made by the same people) you'll enjoy this. Metal Gear fans will also get a kick out of Raiden and the various Konami franchise's offerings sprinkled throughout the game

Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army8

After an hour of play I can certainly say this is an awesome addition to the Sniper Elite series. Great set of arsenal at your disposal, kill-cam remains awesome as ever and never gets old and plenty of zombie thrills and spills. Two slight things let this otherwise great game down though 1) very little sniping can be done as you progress as the zombies are obviously attracted to your whereabouts by the gunfire. I ended up pulling out my various hand pistols and assortment of shotguns and machine guns too often. 2) Extremely linear and some level design makes you feel 'hey I could have just hopped over that hedge I saw half a mile back instead of going all the way round and been a bit more sneaky'. These issues aside I'm really having great fun with this game. I have to say I was huuuuge fan of the last Wolfenstein game and I would recommend this game to lovers of the CoD Zombies fans. Not yet had a chance to play co-op but I can see it being a good addition ^_^
