It's not terrible. Go in expecting low budget with glimpses of high quality. Mechanics and ideas are sound, it just needed more polish and it would have been special. Patches might come to fix up glitches and bugs to the point I'd review it marginally higher, however the biggest issues need a complete revamp which we will never see. Seriously whoevers developing this game. Hire better programers and give it a better budget and you could be onto something.

Everything you know and love about multiplayer shooters needs to be forgotten as the rules of combat have changed. Verdun is a brutal WW1 experience that mirrors the horrors and pure lethality of war. Every second you are alive has and will continue to be a struggle. Simply shifting your position in the most miniscule way has the potential to kill you instantly. Shouldering your rifle and firing is easy. Having the ability to make it a deadly weapon is not. All around you are gamers whom are no longer random people playing the same game as you. They are now your lifeline to success and failure. One person can not carry you to victory anymore. There might be heroes in this battle but the war is only won with teamwork. That is Verdun, this game isn't anything that you have ever played. It might not be an experience for everyone but for those who are willing, this might be one of the best shooters you never knew you wanted. The only issues with the game are framerate related however the developer has promised swift fixes. The game also currently features a small community however finding a full game on the games featured and best mode is always possible. If you read this in the future, just reseach player population before a purchase to verify activity levels

Alien Isolation to borrow a quote from gearbox, is a "love letter to fans" of the franchise. There is no reason to be skeptical this time around as Isolation might go down not only as one of the best Alien games but perhaps even the one of the best survival horror titles to ever be released. New comers who are not familiar with the movies would have no problem at all picking up this title and I would be willing to bet they would get **** into the universe of Alien franchise. For those of us who are diehard fans I can not knit pick anything with wrong with this game. Graphics, voice acting, storyline, atmosphere, gameplay mechanics, ai behavior and fan service are all at or near perfection in my book. On the hardest gameplay setting this game can be brutally difficult however you have to ask yourself, would you really want it any other way? Alien Isolation is a game meant to challenge you to survive against the deadliest killer in universe and it at all times feels that way. I'm so happy for Creative Assembly and thankful for the work they put into this game.

Destiny is one of the most bland and over hyped shooters I have ever played. This games story is an absolute joke and a major disappointment. Bungie created such a unique and interesting world and there is minimal if any background information on it. Most of my time spent walking around it's meaningless environments I can't help but think that this is some kinda of beta and the actual game with content will release soon. The only hint of a story line is the ghost character that narrates along with some of the most boring gameplay I have experienced. Gameplay is simply run to point A kill people, run to point B kill people and then fight a boss at C to magically and abruptly finish literally each and every mission. The repetition is so awful and each planet feels like a firing range scattered with bad guys who respawn in the same spots every few minutes. The gameplay is extremely uninspiring it could infact be the ultimate cliche of shooters since there inception. I can't understand how Bungie could release such a lame duck when compared to their previous Halo Franchise. AI behavior is laughably brain dead and the only reason they pose a challenge is due to the number of enemies thrown your way or the amount of health the stronger types have. The only reason to ever play this game is to equip your character with better gear. Be prepared to repetitively play the same dull scenarios over and over just to get a better item. If killing the same enemies for hours to get a new gear piece is your idea of fun then you will be at home. The competitive multiplayer is the games saving grace but once again it is nothing to write home about. Everything in competitive multiplayer has been done to death as it offers nothing new to the table and I'm sure most players will put it down once that new game sensation wears off. Overall Destiny is a pathetic cash crab by Bungie in my opinion. I would be the first person to sing this games praises if actually was a real game. However as of now this game is an absolute joke and easily one of the worst games I have ever played.

Madden 15 adds a new coat of paint on a wall that's been painted over numerous times. Seriously the games nothing more than slightly updated graphics, reorganized menus, remapped controls and one or two experimental additions that do nothing to break up the monotony. I am so beyond frustrated with the repetition in this game and I'm the idiot who keeps buying it yearly. This game desperately needs competition to inspire change as it's clear EA has zero intentions of truly improving on this series.

Battlefield 4 on current generation consoles without a doubt suffers major setbacks both technical and unfortunately by the very own incompetence of dice. Going in you should expect low resolution textures, frame drops and missing features to be a common occurrence. However what was not expected was a mash up of a Battlefields identity with Call of Duty elements that ultimately serve to dumb down the entire experience. From bright red circles that highlight a grenades life span, extreme amounts aim assist at close range and vehicles that have been majority nerfed in every aspect to make the game easier. It's clear this is Dices best attempt to make Battlefield a game more accessible for the causal audience. On the flip side of the coin you have to question several design decisions as well. At release the game ships without a party system to play with friends which is unheard of in today's age of gaming. However the most absurd might be the lack of editing your weapons/vehicles in the games main menu system. Instead you are forced to actually go into a match and spend time tinkering with all sorts of unlocks while being completely useless to your team, or go log into battlelog on a tablet, or laptop and edit your loadouts remotely. Equally impressive is how Dice is centering the majority of unlocks on a lottery system called battlepacks. Instead of earning a scope by racking up experience with a gun, you are forced to unlock it by simple luck by opening battlepacks. It is a system that is solely designed to **** your wallet dry. Gameplay wise despite all of the above I still would consider Battlefield 4 to be the best of the shooters currently out. However that's not saying a lot considering today's state of the shooter market where it is cod or this. I found my experience overall a marginal upgrade from Battlefield 3 and when this game makes the switch to next generation simply adding 64 players and pretty graphics will not hide this titles flaws. I hope next time around Dice you create a true battlefield game and not a hybrid of call of duty...

Actually every match is who can run the pistol better, even my Rams have a version of it in our default playbook! All the negative user reviews are from PC gamers nerd raging at Blizzard over the pc treatment of this game, ignore them! Diablo 3 on console is without a doubt the best game of its genre, has an extremely high fun factor and has a ridiculous amount of replay value. I played Diablo 2 LoD back in the day and I can say without a doubt I'm just as addicted now as I was back then. Getting a group of 3 other friends together and spending hours exploring trying to get the best gear while completing quests is amazing. My favorite part of this game by far is the numerous difficulty levels, this is the hardest game I ever played on the right settings. Do yourself a favor and if you are a fan of this type of genre stop reading and go pick it up right now.

The senarios you get put into during singleplayer are amazing and the high point of the experience. During my play time I really felt as if I was part of something bigger, almost like I was actually fighting with other soldiers in a war and not rambo taking on the world like any other fps game. missions are a high point as they are very realistic. One time you could be escorting a IED team and the next being flown into a battlezone to provide cover for wounded teammates to be extracted. Now here comes the bad part and why the game is getting a 5 in my eyes. The graphics are average at best and enemies are usually just a pixel on your screen at a distance. During some missions the frame rate will drop very low making combat frustrating at times. Your computer AI is for the most part worthless unless you tell them what to do at all times. The enemy AI is just laughable as the tactics the execute are nonexistant, they will just run out in the open and let you shoot them. Online can be laggy depending the host you get. Also the cursing in this game is absurd every other sentance has a cuss word or a vulgar referance it just gets old and annoying. To summarize it all up this game had so much more potential.

The only saving grace is the singleplayer which for some odd reason features horrible ai, even on the hardest difficulty. I'm only a few missions in but im easily able to simply run past everyone only shooting a few people to beat a mission. The storyline, voice acting and graphics are the best part about the experience they are nex gen quality. Multiplayer is average at best and brings nothing new to the table at all. In my opinion I had more fun with Crysis 2 multiplayer as this version of the game is 100% dumbed down even further for the call of duty audience, and it looks like it sold like a turd, less than 1,000 players online all together. Expect LAGGY hosts and 0 players in every mode not names tdm, ffa, spears and crash site. Minimal improvements have been made as well compared to crysis 2 mp this feels like nothing more than a map pack with different Killstreaks. Piss poor job EA.

After reading the negative press, the majority of it is fair and the rest of it is B.S. to put it blunt this is a 6 or 7 game nothing less and nothing more. The highlight of the experience is multiplayer and the saving grace which I will get to last. First of all this is a AVERAGE shooter that does nothing to standout while taking zero chances which is a disappointment considering the source material. You would expect from an ALIENS titled game to have suspense, scares, tension and sadly none of that is there. What you get is a linear action movie set experience with a narrative that unfortunately raises more questions than it answers. The good in singleplayer and all throughout the game is the Aliens atmosphere. This game sounds 100% like the movie from the guns, music and original actors. Also worthy of a mention are the fantastic settings that seem like they were ripped right out of the movie and that goes for both offline and multiplayer levels. I would also like to mention the weapons and gadgets you use are fantastic and an Alien fans dream. So while it may look and sound like an Aliens movie thats where it ends. As previously mentioned the storyline just flatout ****. I wont get into the story maybe you would like it but to me it was very disappointing considering how long they had on this project. To make singleplayer even worse are the AI that are so poorly programmed that you would think they came straight out of 1986! This is not a challenging game at all due to the AI behavior even on the hardest setting you can breeze through this. Graphics are also a major problem in all aspects of the game. One moment you can be looking at some eye candy and the very next see textures that look almost as if they were created in a kindergarten class by two year olds. Finally there are a quite a bit of glitches you will find the majority of which for me occur with the games animation system, im talking very awkward movements occasionally. Now its a real shame that almost every review I have read neglects the multiplayer mode. Online play is FUN! I cant stress it enough, the games competitive modes simply work and are a blast to play. Not to mention the DEEP customization options that are offered are unparalleled in any other shooter currently released. Nothing like customizing my marine from head to toe with the gear I want him to wear and then customize his guns with alot of nerdy Alien tech gear! Aside from the Marine gameplay you have the main selling point for multiplayer when you play as a killing machine, the Aliens. Nothing comes close to stalking a group of marines from the roof, leaping onto the floor and wrecking havoc. There are only two flaws which need to be fixed for the multiplayer modes. The first would be the lack of any kind of host migration, if you kill the host to many times if he quits out match is over. Secondly the up and down graphics transition to multiplayer but for the most part are better however there is one level in particular that looks so so bad until you roam around the map and load all the textures in up close. Honestly there is a decent amount of lag as well online and could be match killing depending on the host. In closing Aliens suffers from trying to please the mainstream to much, if only it would have stuck to its hardcore fans we would have the ideal Aliens game... hopefully we can get a proper sequel to this game and the Aliens franchise if gearbox/sega do not get dumped.

For me im a multiplayer gamer and I am in love with the competitive online mode. It reminds me heavily of COD 4 as it only contains a few kill streaks (none of which are even over powering) and fast intense gun fights. Then it adds other features to the formula such as revives, battle crys, ziplines, realistic weapon handling and a brilliantly deep unlocks progression system. Overall the gun play and just basic flow of the online competitive is simply perfect, I can say without a doubt I will be spending a long time on this titles mp modes. Unfortunately at the moment it looks like this game has not sold well and the player count is a little low. Also for this review I have not even tried the map editor or co-op aspects of online yet either because of the AMAZING singleplayer game. First of all the voice acting is top notch as it nears perfection. Proof of that is Vaas, who might be the best video game character I have ever witnessed. Then comes the meat and potatoes which is the gameplay which I can best describe as a jungle shooter meets Skyrim. There is simply so much to do and tell you about that I can not cover it in this review, go watch gameplay or reaad about it else where. Bottom line Far Cry 3 is a once in a generation shooter, it pushes the fps genre so high I doubt anything will catch it.

Without spoiling anything for the Singleplayer campaign the storyline is worthy of a book. I loved it from the first second to the very last. There are not many bugs in this game either the biggest is slow loading textures but that's alright since for the most part this game is a graphical beauty. For the multiplayer side of things it would have had alot more potential if they expanded it to more than just 8 players in total. The maps are way to big and with the cover system players will camp thus making it seem like a ghost town at times. Unfortunately the same could be said about the gamemodes as there is really nothing special offered here and the objective modes just don't work because of the lack of players. However there is surprisingly alot of things you can unlock to keep you coming back for more. I absolutely love the character customization, armor system, perk system, gun play, huge amount of weapons and the environmental aspects to the online play. Great game by 2k and I hope they produce a sequel.

There are enough negative reviews on here with the main issues so im going to tell you about the postives instead. Dead Island really tries to avoid all of the mainstream gaming cloned ideas and creates a unique experience that you will want to participate in. From running over groups of zombies with an abandoned vehicle, hearing a distant scream then moments later having a hungry zombie pack charge you, having your weapons degrade and break in the middle of combat, scavaging the beatiful landscape for items to survive with and partcipating in the games numerous quests/side missions is just a very small list of things to do in this open world game. If you purchase this game expecting a "SOCOM" title you will be SEVERELY let down. This game has gone away from the true roots of the series and has moved the title to be more casual player friendly. Features found in shooters such as call of duty, uncharted and rainbow six debut for the first time in this "SOCOM" titled game. All aspects of this game are changed for the worse from single player, co-op and online multiplayer as I will now explain to you. Singleplayer in SOCOM 4 is an mediocre experience at best. The storyline is extremely cheesy as it is you and your squad versus an entire country's army with generic plot twists.. Rambo would be jealous because I racked up 1000+ kills on hard mode right before the game ended (I know this because I got a trophy for that). The acting is very b-movie like where it shines for a few moments and then drowns miserably for the rest of the show. However the voice acting is a tad bit better during some moments. To beat the games 14 lackluster missions on hard it took me a total of 7 hours and 14 minutes. Your AI teammates range from being useful as bullet sponges to being borderline **** during the entire length of the campaign. The best part of singleplayer is when it solos you through four stealth missions. Zipper must of made these to piss of the socom community, as they are the only parts of singleplayer that almost resemble the series offline roots. Co-op is best played online since your squad ai is already as I mentioned handicapped in every way. There are only 4 missions to play with your friends or random quick matched players. However these missions can be altered with enemy difficult and count. But who the hell doesn't want to play on the hardest settings? Once you beat them all each one time you will never want to return as co-op gets repetitive and boring quick. Sigh now lets get into the biggest letdown of the words on the front of the box. SOCOM is all about online multiplayer gameplay no question about it. With that being said this is honestly the worse online SOCOM game you will ever play. Lobbies are now replaced with random call of duty quick matches where little to no communication takes place. There is never a sense of comradery in these rooms as you will find quick you don't give two **** who is in or out of your game nor does anyone else. Consider yourself lucky if you can switch up teams in 15 seconds since you cant talk to the opposing team. Do you like playing with your friends on SOCOM? Well you cant for awhile zipper forgot to add a party system there suppose to "patch" it in before the end of april. You can play with friends but you have to join there room and hope its not full while hoping you get on there team... talk about a nightmare. The clan system is the only way to currently play in a "party" at all. Here's how it works; you make a group and challenge clans from any gamemode from a list and hope they accept or even get the invite to war. If you want to go solo you can play some ranked respawn and call in some airstrikes from your killstreak reward.... yep hello call of duty! There are classic modes where there is no respawn but they are a slight nod at the series if you want to go that far. Hip fire **** so you get two dual primary weapons on this "SOCOM" game! Everytime you score a kill you get some fancy experience points to unlock weapon attachments and level up your character to gain access to new weapons. That is assuming if you can get a kill with the clunky character view point that plagues every aspect of the game from online to offline. Im going to stop here as I do not want to rant about the thousands of negative changes for multiple paragraphs. Maybe in 3 months from now after multiple patches this game will be better but as it stands right now it is better than Confrontation RELEASE period. See that the keyword was RELEASE... Confrontation TODAY is better than SOCOM 4 without a doubt if you get into a legit room. This game does everything the mainstream market has today but doesn't do one thing right its just a big mess. Bottom line... zipper lost touch with its fanbase and you need to avoid this game unless you find it used or on the bargain bin for a decent price.
