An incredibly creepy atmosphere with a compelling and intriguing story. There's so many interesting interpretations of what the game represents and it's fascinating to read.

Bugs aside, gameplay and story is incredible lacklustre. Driving mechanics are the worst I've ever seen and NPCs behaviour is reminiscent of a PS2 game. Do not buy.

Fun raids/strikes and exploring the beautiful open world (albeit very small) aren't enough to make up for the disappointing and uninspired campaign along with the unoriginal and boring PvP experience. Wondering around the The Traveler and just taking in the sights/sounds was an absolutely amazing experience though.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain10

An open world stealth game with a hundred different ways of playing each mission and a kickass, deep, symbolic story. And with the genius Hideo Kojima there to tie everything up, MGS:V is one of the greatest games ever released.

What a boring game. The campaign is lacklustre and predictable and the multiplayer is hidden behind a paywall. 0/10 is an extremely generous score for this horrible game.

Horizon Zero Dawn10
Jun 5, 2017
Without a doubt one of the best games I have ever played. Horizon has everything you would ever want: stellar graphics, exciting gameplay, an engaging story, satisfying progression, RPG elements, an expansive open world, good voice acting and great customisation. Best of all, it's a very unique and non-repetitive game as you fight different machines over the course of the game. This is unlike other games such as Far Cry, where you will end up fighting the same enemies from start to finish.

The unreal graphics, the beautiful soundtrack, the wonderful moments that occur in co-op and the neat narrative. It's undoubtedly one of the best experiences anyone can have this generation. And to cap it off, it's currently free on PS Plus. I would recommend anyone with good headphones and a quiet room to play this game (it'll only take 2 hours of your time).

We were promised an open world with tons to explore and that's the game we were delivered. It has everything you want in a racing game: Immersive open world, day and night system, weather effects, customization, car variety, multiplayer free roam, single-player campaign and PvP game modes. All in all it's a brilliant racing game that offers well over 500 hours of gameplay!

Tom Clancy's The Division8
Aug 11, 2016
Honestly The Division is a hard game to review due to the constantly changing feelings I have for the game. At times, The Division feels wonderful, when you successfully farm the Dark Zone and get plenty of loot HOWEVER at other times, you feel miserable when you find yourself constantly dying to the same bunch of rogues or to a ridiculous OP shotgunner. The experience I had up until I reached level 30 was, no doubt, spectacular. The graphics, the gameplay and the great sense of progression always kept me playing the game. But once you reach level 30 the majority of the game's problems start to shine. It's unfair to say that though, as Ubisoft have released many updates in response to fans' requests, and personally I think they've done a great job. They've added new content to the Dark Zone, new weapons, new gear sets, a new score system and plenty of minor improvements. Overall it's a great game but still has plenty of room for improvement.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III10
Aug 11, 2016
The amount of fun I had with friends both in multiplayer and zombies exceeds any other game I have ever played. The graphics, the gameplay and the constant variety in guns, maps and customization make this a fantastic COD. I didn't try out the single-player campaign but to be honest that isn't really worth talking about. All in all a brilliant game.

Super Time Force7
Nov 6, 2015
It isn't amazing but it isn't terrible. The whole "timeout" mechanic is by far the best thing about this game. I definitely found it challenging (and rewarding) to use the timeout mechanic to complete certain levels. The retro-themed levels themselves look great. However the game is set back by a number of problems. Firstly, the "one hit and you're dead" mechanic. I died way too many times in this game which was quite frustrating. I wish there was a health bar which would have to be depleted for you to die. Furthermore there were situations where too much was happening on the screen (explosion, deaths, gun shots, etc.), making it difficult to track where my character was. All in all, it's an alright game.

Rocket League10

A fun, addictive and gorgeous video game. It's fun to play with friends and even if you don't have friends online it can still be a fun game. The visual customization is pretty extensive and the controls are quite challenging (which is a good thing). The game is constantly updated with new content so the game never gets too old. Rocket League is awesome.

Call of Juarez: Gunslinger8
Jul 6, 2015
Call of Juarez: Gunslinger is a arcadey first-person shooter game with a Wild West influence. It has an interesting storyline that pulls you through the main game mode, which roughly lasts 7 hours. The environments are well-varied and the sense of action is incredible. Shooting enemies never felt this satisfactory in a game before. Pulling off those headshots and seeing my enemies fall to the ground in a heap of blood felt so good. There's also three skill trees present in which you can upgrade your abilities. That was a nice touch. However having said that, there are a few problems. The duelling sections were overused and there was a lack of gun variety. Sure, I felt really attached to some of the guns I used but I wish there were more guns available. Furthermore I believe that the game needed a multiplayer mode. All in all, Gunslinger is a damn fun game but overall lacks in gameplay variety (no multiplayer, overused duels).

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes9
Jun 30, 2015
Despite the the common theme that this game is just a "demo", I thoroughly enjoyed playing MGS Ground Zeroes. The missions are intense and engaging and are highly replayable. I can't stress enough that last part. You can literally replay a mission a 100 different ways. Furthermore, the sense of stealth is unbelievably awesome. Shooting gameplay is also excellent. All in all my only complaint is that the game is rather short. Apart from that this game is a must-download considering it is currently free on PS Plus. Good work Kojima.

Valiant Hearts: The Great War9
Mar 28, 2015
It's difficult to find a flaw with Valiant Hearts: The Great War. Featuring beautiful environments and an engaging story, the game never failed to wow me. Yes, there are some rather uninspiring levels included (such as the boss fights) but overall this game is very well polished. The puzzles are challenging but satisfying when completed. It's a good game but the main problem is it barely offers any replay value. I want to give this game a 10 but there's something inside me telling me not to. I don't know what it is!

OlliOlli2: Welcome to Olliwood9
Mar 17, 2015
I always had been curious about this game. I had seen my favourite Youtubers play the original OlliOlli, and I was quite interested by the gameplay mechanics. Fortunately, OlliOlli 2 is a thrilling game with a fantastic control scheme. Yes, the game is quite challenging however it can be genuinely satisfying and rewarding at times. I feel that these three words can describe OlliOlli 2. Beautiful, fun and challenging. The graphics and music of OlliOlli 2 are superb. The sound effects were also impressive. There is quite a bit to do in OlliOlli 2, however I think they should have added a level creator mode and an endurance mode. Apart from that, Olli Olli 2 is a fantastic game. I would definitely recommend you to get this game providing how cheap it is.

Need for Speed: The Run8
Aug 23, 2014
In the past few years we have seen NFS titles of various themes and some have been successful whilst others failures. The latest iteration in this popular video game racing franchise is thankfully an addition to the successful list. Produced by Black Box reputable for their inclusion of fantastic gameplay mechanics in previous titles and published by EA, it was sure to be a great game. The game, as you may have already learnt from looking at the promotional photos and videos, is about completing an illicit high-stakes race from San Francisco to New York dubbed "The Run". You assume the persona of Jack Rourke, a thug who is indebted to the mob and joins the Run in hopes of hitting the jackpot to pay them back. This race, however, isn't the average dash from point A to point B as quick as possible. With nearly 215 adversaries and 2900 miles to cover, The Run is a risky investment for Jack. The story straight away starts with the protagonist tied to a steering wheel of a Porsche, whilst being hoisted into a crusher for his inevitable death. After smashing a few buttons I was prompted to, Jack escapes the car and leaves the vicinity. A few minutes later, he walks into a China shop and sits down to talk to his colleague and former girlfriend, Sam Harper. She tells him about how if he joins The Run and wins it, he would get 10% of the profit and it would get rid of the mob. Then, the words Need For Speed The Run appear on the screen with a flash of epic music. "Bring it on!" are the words ringing through my head. According to the executive producer of The Run, the game is special because you're not always racing. Sometimes you will be trying to avoid things and fight for your life. I do have to agree with him on that one. Apart from the normal races where you need to gain positions, there are checkpoint races, cop pursuits, rival races, battle races and survival races. They are evenly proportioned which means you will not always be doing the same old darn thing. It's great that they have done this because when you have a game revolving around linear missions, after a while things tend to get boring. I also forgot to mention the presence of quick time events, which is a weird name they use to describe levels where you control Jack instead of a 500 horse-powered Lamborghini or a car. (like the first level where Jack escapes a crusher). Players will earn XP for everything they do in the game. You can earn XP by doing a range of stuff including jumping distances, drifting, overtaking racers and avoiding roadblocks. As players earn more XP they will level up and unlock rewards such as profile backgrounds, cars and new abilities such as nitrous. It's a great motive for players who rarely break the law in the game (ignoring the fact that The Run is an illegal race to start with). Speaking of cars, the game has a wide variety of muscle and exotic cars that can be utilized. The car textures are alright, but the lack of customization options made me quite frustrated, especially when I had to look at cars with ugly vinyls. Need For Speed The Run is surprisingly the first ever game in the franchise to use real-life locations as the setting. In each race, you will be experiencing different environments, such as deserts, urban cities, rural areas, train tracks, mountains and bridges. Each and every environment is beautifully rendered, thanks to the game's cutting edge engine, Frostbite 2. However, sometimes I suspect that the environments are reused for certain levels. Or maybe it's just because each state in the United States is the same thing but just with a different name. Narrative-driven missions aside, The Run also features a few other game modes such as Challenge Series and online multiplayer races. In the former game mode, you have to play less intense events (in comparison to the single-player events) and try to earn medals by completing them in a specific amount of time. NFS The Run's online play is arguably the best aspect of the game. You can either play with friends or with the community, and the objective is to finish races and collect as many points as possible. Each session consists of three races, and the player with the most number of points at the end wins. You also earn copious volumes of XP when playing online. One particular feature I find brilliant is the bonus wheel, which grants the winner of a particular objective a nice reward such as a free car or extra XP. The reward is decided before the session starts, so everybody knows what’s up for grabs. What players need to do to earn the reward is also entirely random. For example, once I had to get a podium finish if I wanted to receive an extra 1000 XP. Did I also mention that everything is connected? Autolog, making it's second appearance since Need For Speed Hot Pursuit records your every move so your friends can compare their scores with yours and try to beat them. Autolog makes every little thing into a huge competitive challenge. 8.5/10

Watch Dogs10
May 30, 2014
This is by far a contender for game of the decade! The amazing multiplayer experience combined with the majestic open world and deep single player story is the reason why this game is so AMAZING. The fact that any mission can be tackled in any way makes it a much more creative game. For example, you don't always have to go guns blazing which is a nice touch. The citizens are very responsive to your actions and this is represented in the form of a reputation system which shows you the perception of the public of you. Everything works a treat. There are tons of replay value to this game, let alone the endless side missions in which you stop crimes to improve your reputation. The multiplayer online featurea are the best part of the game. Online hacking and online tailing provide endless hours of fun as you try to hide from your enemies while installing a backdoor into their phone. Online free roam is above good and the online racing is very innovative as you can hack the environment to your own advantage. Great job Ubisoft.

Need for Speed: Rivals9
Jan 7, 2014
i have already written a review of this game but I am going to edit it : need for speed rivals is a great game with superb graphics and fun gameplay. The story is exhilarating and there are plenty of awesome looking cars in the game. Had loads of fun in multi-player. I loved the risk and reward system in the racer faction. There is a wide array of personalization options which I enjoyed using on my cars. It is very rewarding to bust a racer as a cop. The only setbacks were the continuous glitches and easy to complete speedlists.
