Season 1 review. I really enjoyed the claustrophobia of the crew stuck in the ice in the arctic. I usually do not like shows that mix historcial fact with fiction, but this show does an excellent job. Yes, some bits defy logic, but overall, great acting a film-making.

Sadly insignificant, boring, vapid display of empty-headed nothingness. This must be what purgatory is like.

Admittedly, I only sat through 1 10-minute episode, but that was all I could handle. Uninteresting and depressing.

Very well written and acted, with 2 lead engaging characters. There are many twists and turns to the plot that manage to seem (more or less) fluid and believable. Humor pokes through on occasion. It seems like both leads (Applegate and a welcome return of Cardellini from Freaks and Geeks) appear to be having a great time playing their characters. And a welcome 30 minutes per episode!

Depressing, predictable, obvious, dumb (and did I mention depressing? If you think 2 men having sex in a horse costume paraded in front of children is funny, have I got the show for you!) Basically everything Jim Carey has been doing all of his career. Not worth your time unless you already worship at the alter of Mr Carey.

I found this rendition to be distinctly mediocre in many ways: writing, casting (especially), and acting. Watch the movie instead.

Not impressed 2 episodes in. The concept of turning the tables on the hosts is a good one, but the execution (no pun intended) is not there. So far, this season is slow and boring.

Decent writing with multiple storylines are undercut by implausible police procedures and cliche leftist stereotyping. Would have been better without the political speeches.

Excellent story arc, good acting, a setting never explored before, and an enjoyable British mid-60s era make for a great Season 1 of the Last Post. I am at a loss why this show has such a poor rating - perhaps the reviewers were expecting something different? Yes, it is a bit soapy, and I have no doubt that the show may not be historically accurate, but most historical dramas are not accurate (even the ones that claim to be.) This is the best Amazon series I have seen (which isnt saying much, granted). I I enjoyed this show from start to finish and look forward to season 2.

A very complex, challenging yet rewarding show. Perhaps a bit too complex for its own good, but the characters and plot are outstanding. The show jumps back and forth among generations, but the supernatural sides of the show never overshadow the characters. My only complaint is with the conclusion of Season 1 - I wish there had been a bit more resolution of some of the plot lines.

Season one is a 10, season 2 a 9, but by the season 6, we are at a 1, a sad leftist PC mess. Pathetic end to a once great show. I wish this show would have recognized the climate it was originally made in and left on a high note.

The weakest of the 3 seasons, I found the storyline to be drawn out and the victim's character and plotline to be unbelievable. Otherwise, the same great atmosphere, setting and acting from the series regulars.

First 2 episodes are slow and grim, but the show improves as it moves through to the end. Location ad time period are quite unique, albeit romanticized (in a positive and negative way). Recommended.

Gave this show 7 after episode 1, but it improved as season 1 progressed, and by the end it was a 9. The brother, sister and their friends (both social and romantic) are very well cast - I find it hard to believe there was ever much chemistry between the parents. Other than that a great show - very well scripted and acted.

The show's writing is good, but so far it is overshadowed, not by pornography, but by disturbing negativism, depression, and pornographic violence. The Wire certainly had subjects of darkness, but that was balanced by folks who were driven to make sense of the mess around them. I am hopeful that the side of the Wire that received rave reviews with come forward in later episodes.

Third Season is just as fun, refreshing and original as the first, an amazing feat considering that each season has a different story. . Never tire of the location and characters. Bravo. 8.7 stars

Thumbs up for decent wring and well-cast 2 main characters, but does not reach potential. Thumbs down: repetitive and meandering middle of season episodes, 26 year olds cast as high school sophomores, ripped-from-the-headlines storyline and check-the-box for every teen malady imaginable.

I look forward to seeing this show every week. Really surprised this show did not get better reviews. Laura Dern, Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman all put forth great performances. Not a fan of David Kelly, but here the writing is very well thought-out. A great mystery wrapped around a fluid story line and good performances.

Very Challenging, Quite Disturbing in a Subversive Way, Extremely well written and acted. Not for everyone, but for those who like a good story that unfolds over 8 episodes, well worth the investment. Quite Memorable.

Multiple and intricate Plot Lines, great acting, and a seamless movement between the future and the past make this a great show. I look forward to each new episode.

A few mildly amusing segments, interspersed with what must be funny in Britain, with a handful of groaners thrown in. I felt like I was watching the show because it was good for me, not because I really enjoyed it. My favorite segment was Tracey's take on Germany's Angela Merkel, which was pretty funny.

I agree with Groptimum's assessment below below so much that I really cannot add much, except to say that this is one of the 3- or 4 best shows of 2016. When the first season was done, I loved the show so much that I was hesitant to watch the inevitable slide in season 2. Boy was I wrong. The Season 2 aftermath of the final event in Season 1 is just as powerful, if not more so, than the time leading up to the event. Great show, great acting, great setting, and writing. With all of the sameness on TV, this show really stands out and is extremely highly recommended. The critics are a bunch of idiots who dont know what they are talking about.

Not only is this the best show Netflix has made, this is the best show I watched this season. Great photography, wonderful acting, and a script that was incredibly well thought out. The show grabbed me in the first episode, and got better and better with every episode. Many times a show cannot jump back and forth in time without being hokey, but this show did it very well. The show was so intense though, that I wonder if it should have been just a one-season show. The teaser for season 2 seemed tacked-on, and I am concerned the story has run itself out. We shall see.

Congrats Netflix! Best show of the summer. Great writing, amazing performances, and no agenda except to show that folks in prison are mostly unbalanced and/or good people who did dumb stuff. Neither group should be in prison. Its time to empty prisons of non-violent offenders and lower taxes.
