The Good Wife: Season 20
Feb 24, 2016
I never actually volunteered to comment so my rating(which was zero according to Metacritic) is completely undeserved, especially because I am a huge fan of the show. While no one can argue with the quality of such programs as Law&Order, The Practice, Murder One, et al, few shows are able to capture the various issues Alicia has deal with in addition to the standard legal gymnastics as well as this show(I.e. infidelity, politics, familial strife, etc.). On top of everything, the show has a tantalizing sexiness that I personally have never experienced in a show of this type or caliber. Alors, bravo.

Beowulf: Season 18

I have to agree with AA that this show should not be compared with GOT(although to to say it's not riding on that franchise's coattails would be folly), as it exists wholly within its own world with its own rules, which, as JP pointed out are not always completely authentic in the fantasy world, if such a qualification exists. While the Shannara Chronicles are a guilty pleasure for me though, this show is in a whole other category as it has me literally chomping at the bit for the next episode. I just finished watching episode 5, and even though the presence of sand worms made me think that the series was becoming a wee bit too eclectic(Dune, etc.), I was still happy with the way things ultimately worked out. I'd like to say I'm in it for the long haul but I think my whole point would be that there is none since this is a mini-series anyway. P.S. I can't help laughing when I think how much I dreaded studying this poem in school and now find it so pithy and entertaining(yes, i know this has very little to do with original story!)

The Shannara Chronicles: Season 17
Feb 18, 2016
I was extremely reluctant to watch this considering some of the reviews(a 50 on Metacritic, though I find their collective assessments a little too harsh sometimes and generally take a lot of it with a grain of salt) and the fact that it was on MTV in the first place which led me to believe it was going to be a lot of teeny bopper trash I needed to avoid. Anyway I was half right. Although the entire enterprise is clearly directed squarely at that specific demographic, and the acting was so bad I couldn't decide if I was more embarrassed for them or for me for watching it, the backgrounds and scenery were eye poppingly beautiful and a few of the more veteran thespians were still keeping the whole thing rolling albeit slowly. Then something magical happened. As the series wore on I became more and more intrigued by the characters and the story because it was apparent that the people involved cared deeply enough for it that they were willing to grow and improve as time went on(something that was sadly lacking in the Star Wars prequels btw). So, as of right now, I wouldn't say I was chomping at the bit for the next episode, like I am for Beowulf and/or the next season of GOT but at least I am not afraid I will be cringing at any moment from the display at hand.

Star Wars Rebels: Season 28

In contrast with the Clone Wars, which I enjoyed but never really felt for the characters(except Ahsoka, who to me was the real protagonist), the characters in Rebels are more endearing and the sort of star wars camaraderie of the first films is evident in the way they interact with each other. The fact that we have no idea what fate has in store for them(unlike CW) only makes it that much more exciting.
