Why can't I say just say "best TV show ever" rather than having to type out 150 characters to just say "The Wire is the best TV show ever"? And, by the way, did I mention that The Wire is the best TV show ever. (Hope this is 150 characters!). :)

I look at this series as a beautifully filmed costume drama. (Gee, I never realized people had so much sex in the 20's. ) Steve Buscemi is perfectly cast and his transformation from sleazeball politico to out and out gangster is one of the most interesting themes in the show. Michael Kenneth Williams is superb as Chalky White facing moral dilemmas every bit as great as Omar Little's.

I basically enjoyed, the 1st season but the writing in the 2nd season became too hip for it's own good. And, by "hip" I mean goofy stoner comedy. I can see why it was canceled.

Larry single and loose is NYC when he should be home in LA making life miserable for his wife. The show came close to jumping the proverbial shark this past season, e.g. the vibrator car seat. Maybe Larry's tired of doing the series?

How does one become enlightened in a culture where everything has a price tag, including Amy's $48,000 bill for becoming "enlightened"? Brilliantly written and acted. And, challenging as all good art should be.
