Completely love everything about this game, wonderful narrative, charming characters, & the gameplay is very engaging & at times just challenging enough to naturally make you want to really understand the combat mechanics. The music & art direction are top notch, making this one of the most memorable games I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing.

Aggressively mid, like Assassin's Creed style. The game itself is beautiful but the gameplay is braindead, which is a huge missed opportunity. I was probably most looking forward to the customization options that were displayed in one of the several previews that Avalanche or WB released. This is much more limited than I would have liked, & it wasn't even "real", which makes spending time on it feel pointless & more like you're in a separate world than the "real" world. I don't know why they'd give you such limited options in that world because it doesn't make me want to spend much time there. The plot is hamfisted & obviously meant for whatever blank slate avatar the player makes. Very strange to see a "character" I don't give a **** about get so much attention from all the characters, to the point that it feels like if this really was the wizarding world they want you to believe it is, that maybe we should've heard of this wizard prophet garbage in the other adjacent materials. But no, it's very video gamey logic & everyone gave it a pass because it has lots of accurate lore & has a good, movie-accurate art style. Very disappointed & another reminder to myself to not get caught up in video game hype & buy something day one

Runs very very terribly, please don't buy this version, if anything I'd recommend the original games as the "Remastered" versions in general run worse. Such a shame since these are genuinely good games, it deserved better.

One of my all time favorite games. An absolute delight to play, as much as I wanted to enjoy a game like Binding of Isaac, the movement is so natural & exactly what a dungeon crawling bullet hell needs to actually feel like you're applying skill rather than just simply getting lucky. I can't wait to see what else Dodge Roll does in the future.

A pretty big waste of my time. If there wasn't so much potential I'd give it a 1 or a 0, but instead I got tricked with a few actually compelling plot points that never end up being reasonably explained or end up having any real importance in the conclusion.

Love this game but Holy **** this is a horrible remaster. I think the original game runs better in every way, for this new one I've run into several minor glitches. This is a UE game, how is it even POSSIBLE that it runs this badly? Plus it doesn't look any better, using a 4k upscaler does not make it a remaster. Very disappointed in dontnod for this release & I will always be cautious buying their games due to their pathetic handling of this title.

Good art design, great sound design, & decently fun turn-based mechanics, but completely falls flat for all the writing, especially the characters. The pacing of the game was clearly intended for buyers who sit down for long stretches of time because every time I played myself, I would totally forget what was happening in each characters' journeys & the motivations behind them. The "last time on-!" little recap was a decent attempt, but ultimately falls flat for a story that takes about 60 hours to get through. I tried roughly 15 hours worth of playing & didn't care about any characters & frankly could never be engaged with where the plot was going. So many people love this game but it honestly baffles me that there's so much emphasis on the story when it feels so all over the place.

Bad, really really bad game. Don't play this game, it's a disgrace to the series. Even the lame dmc reboot game was better

Very emotional game. A pleasant surprise in every way, I'm definitely going to pick this up on Switch after trying it on gamepass, it's so good. I've seen great stuff get made in rpg maker but this is probably the best yet.

Excellent game. I discovered SMT in 2014 when I downloaded the fourth main game on my 3DS. This series has comfortably replaced Pokémon as one of my all time favorite turned based games. The setting for several SMT titles seem to be modern & post-apocalyptic, & the fifth main title is no exception. This is a graphically technically ambitious Switch exclusive, which makes it a unique experience compared to many of the Switch's exclusive titles. The only complaint I have is that the performance isn't AS optimized as it could be, & by that I mean I've had no issues myself playing the game. The framerate is a bit unstable, always hitting around 18 - 28fps, which isn't too dissimilar to how Breath of the Wild is an incredible, ambitiously made Switch exclusive that fails to maintain a stable 30fps. Like I said, SMT V is an excellent game. If you like dark, fantastical stories then this is a game that I can highly recommend. Also, understanding the games plot does not mean having to play the other games in the series, you can just start here if you want.

No need to whip a dead horse, this game is excellent. The writing is top notch & the voice acting is also incredible. But I'm unfortunately not anywhere close to finished, as this poorly optimized game has crashed several times on me & had a very hard time even loading small hubs from the very beginning of the game. The audio began tearing every time the frames started to, making it a frustrating experience. Despite absolutely being swept away for hours by the attention to detail in the story & mechanics, I cannot in good conscience recommend a game with such a poor performance. **Edit** Game is much more playable now. Still has audio tearing but it crashes much less than it used to. Thanks for trying at least, clearly this game wasn't optimized to be anything other than a pc game.
