Nice premise, great acting. Weak script. I tended to doze off at times, despite Hally Berry and the 2 great kids,

Tessa Thompson is a powerhouse. Her one person show, good direction and solid writing carry the movie till the end. Although the film deals with different kinds of characters with different issues, the premise gets a bit repetitive by the end, thus becoming a turn off.

Deadpool & Wolverine5

There are 2 movies here. A fun Deadpool & Wolverine movie bogged heavily down by stupid plot, bad CGI, pointless stakes, senseless characters that is an MCU movie. **** because I was really amped up for this and I absolutely loved both the Deadpool movies and Logan. Disney, you stupid.

The movie should come with trigger warnings for body dysmorphia and eating disorders. Although Brittany Snow does a wonderful job of representing them, the theme might be too much to deal with for some people.Okay, now that put aside, the performances in the movie were so beautiful. This kind of theme was elegantly depicted and to think that it was a directional debut certainly shows so much promise. Despite the erratic pacing and passage of time generally thrown at the audience through exposition, after a momentary whiplash, the scene brings you right back into it. I really loved character development of Riley and Nathan and even the minor characters for that matter. The movie did a wonderful job of showing both, what people suffering from mental illness go through and what people who care for them go through. Kudos.

Little Wing5

It has heart, and is a well-meant attempt, but falls short of what could have been a lot of emotions and fun. Brian Cox, as always was a treat. Too much narration, not so good acting, and lacking screenplay brought the film down. Also, it takes itself more seriously than it should have. You can have sombre moments, but what should have been (other) fun moments fall flat.

What a disturbing movie, WOW! Although I wasn't a big fan of the fantastical stuff, the psychotic evil was what I dug more. Nicholas Cage shines in a role worthy of the weird energy he is capable of. I really wish he had more screen time. I have been recently acquainted with Maika Monroe's work and she made her character so engrossing here. Direction and the choices that came along with were amazing! This movie is so blink and you miss it subtle throughout its screenplay that when it does put things in your face, it penetrates your mind. Even the fantasy horror elements were void of jump scares and genuinely horrific.

As interesting as the concept is, the movie is equally terrible. Such terrible acting.

Night Shift4

The film had potential, but there were several factors that didn't make it work. First of all, it shows that it's a directorial debut, as the direction left much to be wanted. Continuity errors is one of such culprits. Second, the lead actor can't act in progressions, and although rest of the movie she did do passively good, at the end, her acting seemed as if she was trying too hard. Next, odd background music choices seemed amateur. The film was only good in parts, and couldn't help itself from doing repetitive tropes. Let's talk about the twist; homage to the other movie (SI) was a bit half baked, but even that would have been good, but sudden tonal shift was way too **** the film has its moments, I'll give it that. Tension building both with visuals and sound are generally done well. I really liked the supporting cast; good work there. All in all, it could have done better with more runtime and more meticulousness.

One of the worst movies I've ever watched, if not the worst. Ridiculously acted with terrible plot, and nothing of substance at all. Doesn't even deliver on the erotic premise.

A strong & bold piece of cinema, reminds me of 7 Prisoners. Although it grabs your attention for most of the part, it falters at times. I believe climax required some more work, but a promising piece of work, regardless.

It's definitely not bad, but some gags don't land at all and the movie really suffers from their repetition. It is hilarious in parts, that's all.

Beautiful Beings4

Great cast and beautiful cinematography really toils well with the fantastical elements, but tying it all in is where the movie struggles. All that buildup ultimately amounts to nothing, even though climax tries it best and is a good scene on its own.

Blueback6

Beautiful locations, amazingly acted, a sweet drama that had to pay the cost of its time muddling screenplay. Linear storytelling would have worked much better for this plot, and direction & cinematography should've done more to observe the beauty of the scenes; there was a lot, yet a lot left to be desired. Liked it overall, though, I mean how not to with Blueback and Abby's bond being the best part of the movie. Also, shoutout to the makeup department for their great work.

Pinball: The Man Who Saved the Game7
Apr 16, 2023
Faist shines, despite the somewhat awful moustache, though they did put effort to match the original. Screenplay makes it feel like you're watching a pinball movie; it's so fun. Boutsikaris is great as well. Feel-good movie, which felt a little rushed at the end, but really liked it overall.

Saying the performance of the cast was great would be an understatement. You don't feel disenchanted at any point of time. The music is so damn engrossing, drags you right into the movie and doesn't let you loose from its grip for even a second. The whole screen is meant for the viewer to see. I honestly kept dreading the end.

Vivid, imaginative, trippy and thought-provoking. Can't do anything except gawking the screen, wide-eyed the entire time. Such inventive and ingenious piece of art. One of the most profound films I've ever seen.

The Hatchet Wielding Hitchhiker7

Really liked the documentary. They should have included other perspective, though and should have included some analysis and study on mental health issues that Kai was going through. Also, I did some reading later and the trial itself had some interesting elements that were not shown in the documentary. So, in all a good watch about ills of media, celebrity, society and mental illness, but a lot more could and should have been shown.

Film started good, had good theme, good concept, good acting, except Alia Bhatt could have acted better. However, film runs out of things to do midway, and struggles throughout till the end. What could have been a good movie with a strong message, turned out to be just meh, with a nice message.

Pains me to see that the movie could have been so much better. A rough starting with dialogues feeling forced, picks up pace as it goes on and then shift tone all of a sudden in the third act to become a thriller, but fails badly and ending feels the same forced way as the beginning, wherein it does match up to it's own dialogue that our past catches up to us.

From great atmospheric building, to amazing background score, with consistent and developing character traits, and twists and turns, this movie came out of nowhere and blew me away. Writer-Director, Shawn Lendin definitely deserves praise, and Camille Sullivan steals the show.
