Fallout 765

There's enough to enjoy but not enough to love. You'll miss the NPCs giving you quests. seriously. You'll get tired of the quests from holotapes being pretty much the same: Go see this person; oh, look, they're dead; listen to another holotape and go over there. Sure, there's some environmental stuff, but don't expect to want to keep coming back. If you really loved the base building in Fo4, then have at this game. If you really wanted to play a Fallout-esque game with friends, try it out. But it's not Fallout enough. It's not good enough. It's just mediocre, which is a shame.

Fallout 49

I love this game, and if you go into it without preconceptions of what an RPG or what Fallout "should be", you'll probably love it, too. My only gripe is similar to others' gripes: I wanted more RPG elements to developing my character, closer to what Skyrim offered. Reward me for being stealthy, using silencers, preferring semi-auto guns, etc. Otherwise, top-notch game that deserves at least a 9/10.

Assassin's Creed Rogue5

I already bought Black Flag and Freedom Cry. Rogue should've been a $25 expansion/DLC, not a $60 "fresh" game. If you enjoyed Black Flag, go ahead and get this. It's essentially the same, but you can play as the bad guys (Templars). Eat up the gimmick.

Assassin's Creed Unity9

You can get deterred by the technical issues if those really bother you. I find that they're comical a la Fallout. But if you're interested in immersiveness and deserved grandeur, on a scale even larger than GTA and Skyrim, then Unity is a game for you. It reaches towards being a masterpiece, but its technical issues hold it back. Voices are top-notch; music helps immersiveness; the background elements (mostly people) put you right into a Romantic-era atmosphere; and the texturing on everything (except for a few faces) is incredible. Look at the details, and you'll be impressed enough to want to play for hours each day. Care about frame rate, changes to combat, and the many server/Uplay/Initiates blunders, and you'll want to put it down.

Okami HD10

If I could, I'd rate this game 9.6, but I rounded up. From the lush environments and your ability to rebuild them all the way to a fun, humorous, and usually compelling story, you can easily immerse yourself in this masterpiece of video game art. There is a reason that it's featured in video game museums. Only two elements hold this game back from being perfect: its combat is regularly too easy, and it features far too much sexism from Issun about various princesses and priestesses. Okami's combat is almost never challenging; once in a while, you'll have to consider your tactics with a boss or mini-boss, but you won't die in the process. With regard to sexism, the whole "rescue the princess" trope was already tiresome well before Okami (thank you Donkey Kong, Mario, and Zelda!), so the developers could've chosen something less banal and annoying. Granted, Amaterasu is the character who's rescuing the princesses, etc., but Issun is the sexist and vapidly shallow mouthpiece that won't stop objectifying them--over and over and over again. We get hints that Issun is over 100 years old, and, in that case, he's a 100+-year-old man-boy. Once in a while, Issun seems to mature through the narrative, but not whatsoever with regard to women.
