Ahh, melee, why are you so good? If you are a casual player, melee is... Pretty good. If you are a player who likes technical skill over those items that nobody likes, melee is the most you could wish for. Wave-dashing, L-cancelling, dash dancing, teching, short hop double laser, multishining, wobbling and ledge-hogging are just some of the variety of advanced tech. Just watch a melee tournament and you'll understand what I mean. I recommend this to any REAL gamer, and also casuals. If it weren't for the smash series, I wouldn't be the Nintendo fan that I am now. Ten out of ten.

I'm not sure why everyone likes this game, but I think it's something to do with them being casual players with items on every match. If you are a true smash bros player, you will despise this game. Meta knight is broken, the ice climbers have a ridiculous chain grab (along with some more characters), there are barely any tournament legal stages, and of course, random tripping. If you want a better fighting game, play street fighter, or any other smash game (I personally recommend melee and wii u/3ds version). Apart from that, the adventure mode, all star mode and classic mode are great, and I recommend this if you are a casual player.
