The game itself is still great, the crusade-then-manage-your-cult rhythm is one of the best loops around, and the cute-but-sinister charm hasn't aged a day. The problem is this version: on Switch the quality takes a real hit. Frame drops, stutters, longer loads, nothing unplayable, but you constantly feel you're playing the worse edition of a better game. Fine for couch sessions if it's your only option, and the loop survives the downgrade. But if you can play it anywhere else, do that. One point deducted, entirely the port's fault.

I've never been a turn-based combat guy, and I've never been a Monster Hunter guy either, so this game started with two strikes against it. And yet, it doesn't displease me at all. The rock-paper-scissors battle system has more thought behind it than it first shows, collecting and raising monsters gives you that steady sense of progression, and the whole thing has a charm that slowly wins you over. Played in short couch sessions it flows nicely, one hunt at a time. It won't convert me to either genre, but it earned its place. Sometimes the games outside your comfort zone surprise you.

I have hundreds of hours on eFootball on PC, so I know exactly what this is, and honestly, on Switch it plays even better. Matches feel snappier, faster to get into: turn on the console, two minutes later you're kicking off. The gameplay holds up, the pace is more immediate than the PC version, and the couch format fits football perfectly, one quick match whenever you feel like it, no ceremony. Free to play, so the price of admission is zero. Same eFootball soul, less friction. Pleasant surprise.

My first time playing a classic Pokémon, over twenty years late, and now I get it. The loop is timeless: catch, train, plan your team around the next gym's type, and every badge feels earned. It shows its age in places, the pacing toward the Elite Four demands some old-school grinding, and a few puzzles are pure 2004. But playing it in short couch sessions is the ideal format: one route, one gym, done. A piece of gaming history that still works on its own merits, not just nostalgia. Better late than never.

The living room game, full stop. On its own it's a modest collection of minigames; put two or four people on the couch and it becomes an instant party machine. Bowling is still untouchable, volleyball and badminton are surprisingly competitive, and the motion controls just work — no tutorials needed, grandma scores a strike in five minutes. It's not deep and it doesn't pretend to be: it exists to make a room laugh, and few games do it this reliably. Solo it loses a lot; with company it's worth every euro.

The crossover nobody asked for turned out to be one of the smartest tactical games on the console. XCOM's brain with Mario's charm: positioning, team jumps, chained movements, every battle is a little puzzle with room for genuinely clever plays. The Rabbids' humor lands more often than it should, and the difficulty curve respects you without punishing you. A campaign structured in clean, bite-sized chunks, perfect for one battle at a time on the couch. Aged beautifully, still worth it.

Yes, "Pokémon with guns", laugh it up, then it steals 40 hours from you. The base-building and automation layer is what makes it work: your Pals run the factory while you explore, and coming home to a running base never gets old. Janky in places, but the loop is rock solid. Way better than the meme suggests.

A little fishing boat, a fog that shouldn't be there, and a sea that watches you back. Dredge nails the balance almost no game finds: cozy loop by day, creeping dread by night. Fish, sell, upgrade, push a little further, stay out a little too late, the rhythm is irresistible and the tension never turns into frustration. Short, focused, no filler, gorgeous art. One of those games that knows exactly what it wants to be and delivers every minute of it. I loved every hour.

Dive by day, run the sushi bar by night: a two-phase loop that never stops feeding itself. Charming, generous, constantly throwing new ideas at you. Maybe one or two ideas too many toward the end, but the freshness lasts far longer than it has any right to.

My favorite game, simple as that. Hong Kong is a character in itself, the undercover-cop story actually means something, and the hand-to-hand combat still embarrasses most modern open worlds. Criminally underrated then, criminally forgotten now. If you skipped it, fix that.

The perfect loop. Every run you feel like the architect of your own combos: the luck is there, but agency always wins. "One more run" has never been this literal — hours evaporate. Cheap, endlessly replayable, dangerously addictive. The benchmark every roguelite deck-builder should be measured against.

Yes, I have 122 hours on it. Yes, I'm reviewing it negatively. That's exactly the problem: FUT is an abusive relationship dressed as a football game. The gameplay does its job, but everything around it is designed to frustrate you into spending. I keep playing because I love football. EA knows it. That's the scam.

A clever Balatro-flavored slot machine loop with a great creepy atmosphere. The problem: too much luck, not enough agency. Balatro makes you feel like the architect of your combos; here the machine decides more than you do. Fun for a while, but the lack of control wears the loop out. Good, not great.

I dismissed it for years as "Civilization made by someone else". I was dead wrong. The culture system, reshaping your civilization every era, gives it a real identity and near-infinite replayability. Tactical combat beats Civ's, the map is gorgeous. Steep learning curve, some undercooked mechanics, but patience is rewarded. Deserves far more respect than it got.

A perfect loop of two games in one: tense roguelike runs rewarded by relaxed base management, each feeding the other. One of the few games I finished on PC and happily bought again on Switch. Near flawless.

It does what it sets out to do, and it does it well, I can't deny the craft. But this was never a game for me. It's slow. Really, really slow. The game decides your pace, not the other way around: log in, do your ten minutes of chores, and then the island politely tells you to come back tomorrow. Some people find that relaxing; I found myself waiting for a game that never actually starts.I could see it working as a companion game, something to run alongside a real game, ten minutes a day, picked up for cheap. But at full price, that's a hard ask. Sold it after a few weeks, no regrets.

Pokopia is exactly what I wanted it to be: total relaxation. No battles, no pressure, just exploring, building habitats, and slowly turning your island into a little Pokémon paradise. The gameplay loop of gathering materials, crafting, and watching new Pokémon move in is incredibly satisfying, and it's the perfect game to unwind with after a long day. This type of game really works for me, and Pokopia nails the **** only real complaint is the final stretch of the Pokédex. Completing it becomes a bit annoying, because finding the last items and materials relies way too much on randomness, rotating shop stock, random drops, and rare spawns you can only re-roll by checking again and again. A little more determinism in the endgame would have made completion feel as rewarding as the rest of the journey.Still, warmly recommended if you're looking for a chill, no-stress experience.
