Maquette

If Tumblr post's were a videogame. Maquette follows the tale of two people with the personality of coffee beans as you uncover their hipster backstory through fun and at times frustratingly broken puzzles. Each level fleshes out the lovers tale with a new challenge set before you and a surprisingly good album playing in the background like butt-shuffering your Spotify playlist. The story is expanded on even more in each chapter sprinkling in writing on the walls to divulge more information about our protagonist's past which at points reads like lost Nickelback lyrics. Maquette is a experience not to dissimilar to your grandparents memory, instantly forgettable but with some enjoyable stories thrown in between the farts.

When I first booted up this samurai epic revenge flick ( I'm starting to see a trend here Sony with your single player revenge tales ). I forgot to turn up my volume and thought the main character " Jin " said the samurai force were facing off against a mongoose invasion luckily after putting in a good 22 hours I can honestly say, I'm convinced the Foxes are in cahoots with the Mongols

Mass Effect: Andromeda

From the Debbie does Dallas dialog to the Galaxy Quest story line Mass Effect Andromeda doesn't benefit from the fabricated fantasy space opera its predecessor's toted bringing only a handful of planets and species to a vast intergalactic expedition . Mass Effect Andromeda takes place 600 years after the selfless sacrifice of the games iconic interplanetary arbitrator Shepard saved the milky way, Now you take on the role of the pathfinder named Ryder with the openness to choose either male or female after a brief stint through the lackadaisical character creator set up that doesn't even exceed that of saints row 2 you awake and are instantaneously thrown into your first mission things go awry rather fast as your father kicks the space bucket in a scene which shares the same emotional depth as a movie on the lifetime channel. From there you set out on your journey to wake other recipients up from their cryogenic slumber and colonize a new world, The premise sounds intriguing and promising in the game's opening acts but all the build up goes kerflooey as the story loses interest and instead focuses on the theriomorphic bad guys which for a game that built its previous titles on the moral ambiguity of extra-terrestrial lifeforms can feel a bit like a step in the wrong direction. The galactic map you view now feels like a masquerade as only a few planets are interactive with a large minority of them acting as a meta game which would feel more at home in the games companion app. Others would tackle the games abysmal animations and Writing for the projects shortcomings however the real story behind this product is far darker , After doing some research I came across an article post from a Ex-bioware employee that stated the game went through development hell and here are just a few other titbits that Bioware finds acceptable in this modern age . Throughout the development of this game bro culture ran rampant and a large amount of conflicts were brought to the surface on top of the Ego that many top ranking team members boasted the top tier executives put staff on PIP programs as a way of getting rid of them this problem was further exacerbated by the leaders of the company changing '' Crunch time '' to a new buzzword with far more worse repercussions. They called it Finaling mode in this period the company would throw staff a catch 22 opportunity in which they would pay for their food but only if they ate it under thirty minutes and got back to work, Retaliation and harassment became more problematic and serious as each day went on forcing major team members to quit because of the work ethics and conditions they were being subjugated to on a daily basis which extended the more common known ones we as a community saw online . The members that left had falsified reports made by HR to smear their names after they complained about harassments from the management staff and finally many key staff members that worked on this project didn't get paid with the reason being the extension of the game was more important than their financial benefits. So in closing the once great storytellers and visionaries at Bioware have reduced to the disrespectful degenerates and all because **** , So we ask was it all worth it ? . My heart goes out to the people that left the project after putting all they could into it and I wish them the very best on their future endeavours and as for this project its not worth the quantum fluctuation the Andromeda galaxy teeters on. A lot like Mass Effect , Andromeda might turn into a great game at a much later date.

Horizon Zero Dawn

The Decima engine has provided some awe-astounding results since its inception back in 2013 and Horizon Zero Dawn is no different .Guerrilla Games took a leap from the back of a tallneck when they decided to ditch the claustrophobic constraints of the helghast horde and focus their ambitions to the sprawling lands of a open world RPG and not only does this first venture into the unknown provide '' FUN'' a word that hasn't been heard recently in videogames since the louder screams from SJW's shutting out the phrase. The game also competently brings down the witcher 3 from its throne and challenges the white witcher in every aspect . Not only is the character Aloy an enjoyable character embodying the mannerism's of the likable hero like if Lara Croft and Nathan Drake had a illegitimate child Aloy is the result, But the fluidity of the combat and the brutality of the weapon work makes every Kill a must share moment . Usually in open world RPG's the slaying looses its finesse within in the first four hours but somehow Horizon Provides enough weapon variants to make the shooting of mechanized monstrosities a sight to behold. Being the killzone guys first excursion players will find familiar aspects that are common place in most open world titles now. Yes climbing a tallneck is a lot like the towers from Assassins creed, Yes clearing out bandit camps is very reminiscent of Far Cry 3 and Yes Dungeons do feel a lot like Destiny however even with those elements thrown into the pot Horizon still manages to stir enough flavour into this dish to give it some much needed taste. The story is intriguing and as you explode this vast multi-layered world you will enter more Ruins than Tomb Raider . My only gripe with this game after getting 100% completion after 50 hours of playtime is the fact the game doesn't give much to go on for a sequel nearly every question you hope to have a answer for is told to you or shown as the game finishes its show and closes the curtain.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End

Uncharted 4 is the last in naughty dog's award winning flagship franchise and a lot like drake this game misses its treasure in favour of fan service .If you buy uncharted a thief's end expecting mystery , supernatural elements and creative risks you may want to pick up uncharted 3 . what uncharted 4 does for pushing the series visual fidelity to new heights it lacks that uncharted sauce. On day one you wont find dynamic maps, horde mode, co-op , machinima video editing or customization in its multiplayer Nor will you find more than 4 multiplayer modes .What you will find however is a microtransaction store begging you to spend uncharted points the new currency to unlock fan favorites characters from the series . It doesn't take long playing uncharted 4 to find out how much Amy henning meant to this franchise and without spoiling the story lets just say fans will have questions without answers for certain characters that are introduced . To close uncharted 4 is a fantastic game but a lot like Nathan drake's Luck its not perfect yet . naughty dog may have a roadmap plan but even the best roads hit a few bumps now and then as my mini review stands uncharted 4 a thiefs end is a 7/10 game this will change when the dlc is done and the full game is finished by 2017 next year .
